Grail knight week for the win! Cracking job Andy. Think I’ll pick up the ivory tusk to replace Pallid Wych Flesh… beast snagga shoulder pads are a pain at the minute with the Pallid wych flesh
Yeah I am a new subscriber from deep in the heart of Texas and truly enjoy all the Old World content. I'm in it to win it with you man. Keep up the great work!
I’m gonna tell you a secret. If I could live anywhere in the world other then Ireland. It would be Texas. My favorite TH-camr is a Texas boy. Demolition ranch. And I will for sure keep the old world content coming.
Been watching your journey. Been fun. Also seems like you're one of the few people trying to give tutorials on different paint schemes on your bretonnians.
Individually they look great, altogether in a unit they look amazing, hope they do you proud at the tournament. For the Lady! For the Grail! For the Algorithm!
The Knights look amazing, I don't think I would be able to give each knight a different scheme and have them come out this well. More fantasy (AoS and Old World) content does have a special charm to it, so I won't complain about more on the way.
Not only did this one turn out great but the unit as a whole looks absolutely fantastic. That's how I imagine them looking. Charging into battle carrying their own colors and heraldry. I'm torn for a favorite. I cant decide between the Templar scheme and the orange/black. Great job all around.
Absolutely nailed it Andy, what an awesome looking unit! Thanks so much for sharing this series, and would love to see similar for your Questing Knights. Best of luck with TOW event today in Underworlds, gutted to be missing out. Will be working on my own Vampire Counts when I get back in a few weeks, hopefully we could try get a game in at some stage. Have a cracking day and best of luck!
Brilliant series Andy! At first I didn't understand what you meant by 'paint tone', but as the last couple of models came together as a finished unit, I got the idea, so, even though there were so many paint colors used, there is a connection between all the knights that I understand now. Hope you have fun at the tournament!
My favorite is the black and yellow, it just stands out on the table, but I do love them all. Last video you said that green is a "peasant color", going to have to remember that for future real-world paint schemes. Thanks!!!
Looks great! The purple gives a very regal feel to it, I think that one turned out the best with such clean crisp colors. The whole themed week was pretty good since you decided to give each and every knight their own colors :)
Andy, keep up the good work. It's great to watch someone with genuine enthusiasm for the Old World putting out Old World content. I don't understand why so many content creators are very 'meh' towards this game and the reintroduction of what is basically Warhammer Fantasy.
All the schemes are really nice. I'd have to go for the purple and white scheme as my favourite though. Reminds me of the kind of heraldry colours you'd see in some classic movies
Fantastic work all around! I've loved seeing all these videos this week and I would love to see a similar challenge again sometime aswell as more Brettonia tutorials. This Grail Knight is definitely my favorite, I love the color scheme and I think purple, white and gold is very underrated, I'm planning on paintings my tomb kings with it.
These have all been great, and I do quite like the episodic nature of the videos, seeing a larger project come together in stages. I think red and blue is such a classic combination of colours that the first knight was my favourite of the set, but it was definitely the orange and black one that most surprised me - I was sure I wouldn't like that one at all. I'm a big fan of your Old World content, but I'm a pretty eclectic hobbyist - currently working mostly on some 40K Orks (with Chaos Warriors for The Old World on the side), but I'm also eyeing up Legions Imperialis, and have some Frostgrave miniatures too.
Thanks Andy for a great week of painting tutorials. The finished unit looks superb and it is great to see how a good looking unit can be painted without the 'pressure' of thinking you need to emulate what appears in WD. The orange/black knight is my favourite. Looking forward to other similar weeks in the future.
Exactly how I hope to paint my knights. All with different heraldry! Will be using lots of these schemes and your views on how to paint the horses is fantastic and so true.
Keep the old world content coming! Great work. My favorite old world channel. I really enjoyed the battle report and am looking forward to more to come.
Magnificent work Andy. It’s been a real joy watching this unit come to life! Best of luck at the tournament tomorrow! Can’t wait for the army showcase! Keep that Old World content coming please!
Looks amazing, sir!! Keep at The Old World, HH, ANY other stuff you want to do, it's always worth my time to watch!! I'd say my favorite is the standard bearer
My go to purple was always Liche purple then mixed with Warlock for some highlights, but that was way back when lol. For me, a great job well done. Thoroughly enjoyed following your progress, and a unit well worthy of the knights of the Holy Grail. Good luck tomorrow and have a great Tournament. 👍
It's been a brilliant week, thank you! Definitely great inspiration, and can't wait to see more Old World on the channel. Good call not making the last Knight blue and yellow - it's such an iconic combination and it looks really good in ranked Infantry or for a whole lances of Knights rather than a single model in a group of Grail Knights. Keep the videos coming, we'll keep watching. Enjoy the tournament!
I can’t wait to get to my Bretonians. All the different styles of heraldries are gonna he fun. Quartered, halved, Quartered quarters,Quartered half, checkers, diamonds, and all the combinations of the above.
I think the darker purple actually looked pretty good with the gray, but you were right that once that final lavender highlight went on that the model hit an ugly stage until you started layering up your off whites. Also if your planning on doing up another squad of multi colored knights like this, what about doing them with single pigment paints and using something like a Zorn pallet?
Fantastic work as always! Really enjoyed the weekly format for this. My favourite scheme would be Orange, followed by yellow - neither my go to colours but very crisp
Came out great, like the coverage with the TTC purples. If you have any spare marines would love to see an update take on Emperor's Children using these.
I've watched every day, it's been great. I look forward to the review on Sunday. I would love a video on what you learnt creating the process for these models, a guide for people. For instance, it seems that the contrast paints have been perfect for the horses but you seem to completely cover the contrast on the cloth, would you just paint the cloth a solid base paint in future? I think in one video you weren't able to use the triad because of this. Anyway great work
No not at all the contrast is my way of doing basecoats really fast. In fact I did a whole video on it. Also paints are a little see through. So the colors underneath is actually quite important. Glad you enjoy the week.
Congratulations on finishing a very cool unit Andy. I’d say the orange and black one is my personal favourite. I’ve never used apothecary white, what’s it like to paint with, it looked smooth with decent coverage in the video?
Had a really great time watching this week. Do you think that covering the base coat with Apothecary white only to cover that with Nuln oil is needed? It seems it would look the same if you skipped that step. Well done.
unit looks amazing ive enjyed the series even though im not personally into Old World at the moment.....i think my Favourite is "Sir Pittsburghius Steelerus"
Great work! Think I’ll do a bit similar with my grail knights but have a plan about moving from black and white through to black and yellow as a unit is more veteran to be cohesive. But grail knights need to be individual, natch, but thinking they keep black in each theme. Will make using them as exiles look cooler too ;)
O by the way mate in the last video you asked which one is the champion in the unit, technically you don't have one. The grail knight champion has a flail in one hand. But as they are all unique just pick one and let your opponent know before hand. Nice little series fella, I really enjoyed it, although did have to see the models at the end to appreciate the shading. Keep it up!
I need to try your painting strategy, I've been watching you since you started the channel but barely painted ever since, hyped for some old school brets.
Is there any book devoted to showcasing the warhammer color schemes? I’m working on some units for Oathmark, but I may want to borrow some color schemes from warhammer. I don’t have a need to get books that are mostly rules.
There’s some old books that aren’t in print any more but you might be able to find enough pages from them online at this stage if you google bretonnian colour schemes etc! Also the internet is great for showing people’s personal schemes too which also might inspire you!
I have a painting question I’m no painter Why do you use contrasts on the cloth then wash and layer over it? Doesn’t that defeat the reason to use contrasts?
Whan can i see youre lizardmen army have the Army for a long time but iam stil looking for a nice color sheam maby you can help my out love you painting ❤❤❤
Just watched through all the Grail Knight video’s. Love your personality and the painting. Can I offer some genuine constructive criticism. When your doing your intro’s your obviously a little nervous and this comes through in the form of you using your hands to settle your nerves by often rubbing them together etc. it can distract from the message your trying to give. If you can try and use your hand to support your message, maybe at times if your wanting to make a point put them on the table and lean into the camera to make your point? (Just an idea). It’s not a huge issue at all, but I think your content is excellent and if I can help you improve at all. I would like to try…. Hope you take this in the spirit it’s meant. Much love. 👍
Really appreciate that! I never plan my intros so I never know what to do with my hands 😂 I will start giving your advice a try, I appreciate you taking the time to write and glad you’re enjoying the content 😊
Love this content as I’ve taken inspiration for different schemes for my own Bretonian knights. My favourite is the orange and black.
Mine to pal.
Loved this mini series and learned a lot. My favourite is the red and blue standard bearer.
Solid choice.
Nice job bud, those look amazing, proper looking Grail Knights 😘👌
Thanks pal. I loved them.
Great job Andy! The first grail knight in the red and blue is my favorite. Good luck tomorrow at the game!
Cheers pal.
Wonderful job that is a unit to be proud of. The orange knight is my favorite.
Mine to.
Grail knight week for the win! Cracking job Andy. Think I’ll pick up the ivory tusk to replace Pallid Wych Flesh… beast snagga shoulder pads are a pain at the minute with the Pallid wych flesh
HahahHa very true.

I’m doing my best.
Individually they look great, altogether in a unit they look amazing, hope they do you proud at the tournament. For the Lady! For the Grail! For the Algorithm!
They did me very proud.
I enjoy the old world content but would really love tos see middle earth mondays return :)
Soon pal. Soon.
The Knights look amazing, I don't think I would be able to give each knight a different scheme and have them come out this well. More fantasy (AoS and Old World) content does have a special charm to it, so I won't complain about more on the way.
Glad to hear pal.
The orange was my fav but they all look brilliant ❤
Mine to.
Great looking unit
Cheers pal.
Looks amazing!
Cheers.
I don't know if I want to get into the old world, but I definitely want to paint some knights after this.
That’s fair.
Enjoying the old world stuff but would like to see more age of sigmar stuff and a return to middle earth Mondays.
You will get all you want soon pal.
Not only did this one turn out great but the unit as a whole looks absolutely fantastic. That's how I imagine them looking. Charging into battle carrying their own colors and heraldry. I'm torn for a favorite. I cant decide between the Templar scheme and the orange/black. Great job all around.
Orange and black for me. And cheers pal.

For sure pal. Good times ahead.

Cheers pal. I did.
❤ excellent unit, what a great project! Loving the old world content. You're my go-to Old World TH-cam painting channel. Keep it going! 💪🎉
That’s great to hear pal. Thank you.
They look pretty awesome, my man. Great job. It would be fun to see an army showcase of all the models 👍🏻
Oh you will don’t worry.
My favorite is the black and yellow, it just stands out on the table, but I do love them all. Last video you said that green is a "peasant color", going to have to remember that for future real-world paint schemes. Thanks!!!
Anytime pal.

It’s just not there thing. I just don’t line them pretending.
Can't pick a favorite, they're all good.
Cheers.
Very nice all old world all the time.
Hahah I wish I could.
All the schemes are really nice. I'd have to go for the purple and white scheme as my favourite though. Reminds me of the kind of heraldry colours you'd see in some classic movies
Cheers pal.
I love when each model is painted differently, I'm redoing my AT scale knights just like this.
Nice.

Nice pal. Great selection of projects.
Absolutely stellar vid, and stellar series! The end result is gorgeous, and I really enjoyed watching the whole process
That’s so nice to read pal. Cheers.
Thanks Andy for a great week of painting tutorials. The finished unit looks superb and it is great to see how a good looking unit can be painted without the 'pressure' of thinking you need to emulate what appears in WD. The orange/black knight is my favourite. Looking forward to other similar weeks in the future.
Yep simple stuff stuff gives Great results.
wow what a unit :o my favourite would have to be the orange and black
The correct choice lol.
Ivory tusk has become one of my favourite paints. Nice as a poppy highlight and great mixed into other colours. Super nice paint.
Yep it’s a good one for sure. A
I've loved watching your multi-video hobby Progress for old world. Can't wait to see more old world videos from you
You won’t have to wait long.
Exactly how I hope to paint my knights. All with different heraldry! Will be using lots of these schemes and your views on how to paint the horses is fantastic and so true.
Cheers pal.
Nicely done! Was a great week really enjoyed the painting, good luck in the tournament!
Thanks pal.
Keep the old world content coming! Great work. My favorite old world channel.
I really enjoyed the battle report and am looking forward to more to come.
That’s so kind pal. Glad to hear it.
Fantastic videos, enjoyed immensely, learned loads, thank you.
Glad to hear it pal
Magnificent work Andy. It’s been a real joy watching this unit come to life! Best of luck at the tournament tomorrow! Can’t wait for the army showcase! Keep that Old World content coming please!
Oh I will pal. Don’t worry.
This series has been brilliant, it would be great to see more like this. I'm torn between the black/orange and white/purple.
Orange and black is mine for sure. I made him the champion.
Watched every day and have been hooked watching the unit grow, they look amazing 🙂
Hope you have a great day at the tournament tomorrow
Cheers pal. I did indeed.
Looks amazing, sir!! Keep at The Old World, HH, ANY other stuff you want to do, it's always worth my time to watch!!
I'd say my favorite is the standard bearer

Another fantastic Knight! Favorite is probably the black and yellow.
Good choice.
I can’t wait to get to my Bretonians. All the different styles of heraldries are gonna he fun. Quartered, halved, Quartered quarters,Quartered half, checkers, diamonds, and all the combinations of the above.
Your a mad man tag me of you post any of your knights. I’d love to see them.
God i love this scheme totally doing this one too, keep it up
Haha glad you liked it pal.

Hmmm that’s an interesting idea. I’d have to do some research. I have my questing knights to do soon and they will be the same. All different colours.
Can you imagine the neckache after wearing those helmets for a while? Great job as always! My favourite is the orange!
Hahaha yep.
Can't wait to see all of these in a batrep. The Skaven vs Night Goblin one was so good!
It was a great game.
Fantastic work as always! Really enjoyed the weekly format for this.
My favourite scheme would be Orange, followed by yellow - neither my go to colours but very crisp
Orange is my favourite to.

Orange is mine as well. And I haven’t used it much to be honest but so far so good.
What a great week really enjoyed it and want to see more. My favourite is the knight with the banner in the west ham colours 😂.
He is a good one for sure.
Had a really great time watching this week. Do you think that covering the base coat with Apothecary white only to cover that with Nuln oil is needed? It seems it would look the same if you skipped that step. Well done.
It seemed to work out for me.
They look fantastic! Really great job.
Cheers.
Really enjoyed watching this series, my favorite was the orange and black knight
Good choice.
unit looks amazing ive enjyed the series even though im not personally into Old World at the moment.....i think my Favourite is "Sir Pittsburghius Steelerus"

That would be very cool.
We need another grail knight week for the other four.
Hahhaha how about a questing knight week?
@@MediocreHobbies absolutely.
Carry on with the OW.
Oh I will lol.
Yea the scheme I suggested, not only me ofc but yay. i like it alot. cant deside wich is my fav liked all of em.
Glad your happy pal.
Absolutely beautiful. I torn between the lavender one and the orange one personally.
Orange was mine.
O by the way mate in the last video you asked which one is the champion in the unit, technically you don't have one. The grail knight champion has a flail in one hand. I’ve chosen the orange one as the champion. Never liked the flail.
Lovely work as always, and finished joust in time for your tournament too…
Hahaha I see what you did there
Favourite was the standard bearer (just wish the horse was brown for some reason haha).
HHaha maybe I will change it just for you.
The purple and white is dope, not sure about the rotting nurgle green horse though
Hahaha ye mite have been a bad choice.
Banner bearer is my absolute favorite, black and yellow a close 2nd.
Cheers pal.
Thank you very much they turned out nice. And I learned a lot of new techniques and painting
Glad to hear it pal.
I need to try your painting strategy, I've been watching you since you started the channel but barely painted ever since, hyped for some old school brets.
You for sure get stuck into some painting.
Great looking unit. The best one for me is the standard bearer. Love the blue and red
Strong choice.
muy bonito!! you gave me so many ideas!! black and cream looks amazing
Glad to hear that! 🙌
Looking forward to see some Lizard men old world content!
Same can’t wait to paint them.
Beautiful work mate.
Love from Western Australia
Thank you very much!
Thank you very much!
OLD WORLD CONTENT!
Hahaha glad your liking it.
loveee it, this one is my favourite
Cheers pal.
All amazing! The orange is my favourite though. When are you planning to add the extra four grail knights?
I probably won’t be!
that maggus purple was quite thin and not opaque .....i would go with normal layer paint xereus purple ...
Perhaps yes
Is there any book devoted to showcasing the warhammer color schemes? I’m working on some units for Oathmark, but I may want to borrow some color schemes from warhammer. I don’t have a need to get books that are mostly rules.

I have a painting question
I’m no painter
Why do you use contrasts on the cloth then wash and layer over it?
Doesn’t that defeat the reason to use contrasts?
I use contrasts a quicker way of putting down base colours/undercoat, they act as a shadow-they don’t get fully covered by the next layers!
Make more Old World
Yes sir.
nice
Cheers
Awesome job. Prefer 40k. Krieg ideally lol. But great paint jobs. Orange was my favourite
Same as myself.
Only thing to say is phwoar
Heheh Jeremy clarkson is that you
Whan can i see youre lizardmen army have the Army for a long time but iam stil looking for a nice color sheam maby you can help my out love you painting ❤❤❤
I shall give it a try.
Cool job☆☆☆
Thanks so much
Just watched through all the Grail Knight video’s. Love your personality and the painting. Can I offer some genuine constructive criticism.
