- On today's episode we are on Caddo Lake in Louisiana practicing for the 2022 Hobie BOS Tournament of Champions that is paying out a total $100,000 and $45,000 to the winner! I worked my butt off in practice to find big Louisiana Largemouth Bass but will be they be enough to win me $45,000? I sure am around em and will have to see on tournament day if we have enough to win the championship.

Side note
My wife is from Utica so we go up every year in the summer to see her family and also to see DMB play at SPAC(we stay in cabins in a campground in Corinth). After that we rent a house with my brother in law on Kinderhook lake. Shot in the dark but maybe you can come drop the kayak in and fish with us while we’re there. That is if you’re not too far and you have the time. Bring your lady of course, my wife and sister-in-law are awesome. Anyhow just throwing that out there. Cheers brother!

Nice video!! Try thumping your lure about 6-12 inches high on the cypress stumps above the water level. May work well for you. Bass will watch what’s happening in the trees.

@@BEtheFish I grew up fishing the swamps of South Georgia and it worked fairly well. Just let the lure sink a foot twitch. Sink another foot twitch until you hit bottom or you get hit.

Are you fishing in the same group or level as Greg ? I asked him once why he didnt use baits with no hooks, (nip off the tip of a few patterns) to test for fish prior to the tournaments?
He said it was because the prize money was low so it wasn't worth doing it. $45G is not so bad is it? I know thats a bit higher than normal, but arent you guys getting ready for a larger prize?
Same level but Greg doesn’t fish Hobie BOS and that’s arguably the best trail in kayak fishing.
