This is such a great way to show the differences between versions. My fav is Dan's of course. I was surprised as well that Tommy had a duo setup. He definitely didn't need it. I figure that he is experimenting with different ideas now that he's on his own. Still sounded good though. Thank you for your great idea and stellar reaction! VASCNATION RULES!❤️
I thought Tommy and Dan excelled and were actuall_ better than the original! Dan gets my vote, however. He is just so clear with his enunciation and his joy and presence can't be beat! ❤
Dan first for me. His voice is always so rich and expressive, his enunciation so clear. Also I appreciate that whatever he's singing you can see his emotional involvement in the song. All were great performances but Dan stands above for me. I enjoy the comparison reactions thank you!!
That was very interesting. Kiske, absolutely amazing. My favorites, however, are Dan and Tommy. Both absolutely fantastic. But Dan convinced me the most. He is incredible, a perfectionist. His voice, so controlled and clear. He had a lot of fun, which really thrills you
Without hesitation, my favourite version is the one by Tommy and Petter. Their cover really oozes power. I'm much more sensitive to Tommy's voice than Dan's. As for the wall of guitars, their version is by far the best. Tommy's playing is incomparable, he's one of the best guitarists around. Dan is still a very good singer, but Tommy surpasses him because he's a very complete musician and not just a singer.
I really enjoyed hearing all 4 of these tracks, especially because I wasn't familiar with the song. I thought the band itself was just pretty noisy - to be expected with a band, I guess. Dan and Tommy are both very good singers. My preference is for Dan, though. He always seems to me to be so intentional about everything he's doing, rather than just flailing around. In my opinion the combination of his gorgeous voice, his excellent singing (two different things), and his captivating delivery carry the day for me. Thanks for doing this! I think it's a great format and I hope you do more like this.
I love Helloween!!! This is one of my favorites by them, along with Eagle Fly Free, March of Time, A Tale That Wasn't Right and the list goes on and on and on!!!
recorded version: meh live version: much beefier sound, was great. My only problem with it (and many live shows from most bands) is the singer didn't enunciate very well on some parts; it's like he either didn't remember the words or was too out of breath. Dan/Victor: full sound, clear and easily understood vocals... has my vote. I'm curious to experience Dan in a well recorded live setting; there are a few live recordings, but they are like camera phone levels and sound like crap. Tommy/Petter: I don't know, there is something about Tommy's & Petter's voices that sounded like there may have been an effect on their voices, so Dan/Victor edges them out for best cover. This effect is common on Tommy's covers that I've heard. It is off putting to me. If there is not an effect on his voice, then it's his voice that is off to me.
I'm a huge Dan fan, but for the first time I find that Tommy beat him, only just, If it was only Tommy it might have been different. Petter brought something into this that made it better.
Michael Kiske (*1968) was by Release from the album Keeper of the seven keys Part I (1987) 19 years old! Get me right - the other singers are brilliant and possibly more versatile. But the album was released 36 years ago, so some technical possibilities were added. This is why the original still the best for me.
Not sure iff you noticed. This Helloween lineup is something special. Micheals Kiske got fired from helloween in 1993. The Guitarist with the guitar that has a eye on it, the cherry red guitar. His Name is Kai hansen hes a co founder off Helloween. Left the band in 1989 to create Gamma Ray. The whole Pumpkins united tour was a celebration to reconnect with the 2 former band members. both opted to stay in Helloween. so the band has 2 singers since that tour. Micheal Kiske and Andi Deris ( since 1994) on vocals. Kai Hansen on guitar. Michael Weikath on guitar. Sasha Gerstner on guitar. Markus Grosskopf on Bass guitar. And Daniel Löble on drums. Making helloween a 7 piece lineup. They did the United Live dvd/cd and a Studio album just called Heloween from 2021 with this lineup so far. Although they currently are writing a new album.
For me its Helloween or the version by gamma ray, but the covers ......i love dan vasc and Tommy Johansson so its hard i enjoy both versions but on this one i have to go whit tommy j just for the vocals and the guitar play, but dan vasc version is great don't get me rong he is getting top place when ranking cover over all
Joel, don't miss these two live songs! They are fantastic and both Kiske and Andy sing in them. Helloween - Keeper Of The Seven Keys (United Alive 2017) [Full HD] HELLOWEEN - Halloween (Official Live Video). take it from Reigning Phoenix Music channel good sound quality.
Definitely Tommy and Petter. They took this song to the next level. The concert version of Halloween is obviously brilliant, no doubt about it. However, Tommy and Petter's performance is more of a rendering (faster and more modern, with two powerful vocals and amazing guitar playing) of this song rather than a cover, and is better than the studio original. Dan and Victor's version is great, but Tommy and Petter easily beat it.🤘🎸❤️
Tommy sings beautifully live, and has been doing so since he was 15, through the various bands he has sung with. He has also won a championship in Sweden. I don't think you've ever heard him in concert.
@@PurpleMetal-je1zv LOL seriously. I too am a fan of Tommy. Have you ever heard Kiske and Andy ?? They are next level up there with the best in the world.
Firstly, Helloween revolutionized what is now called Power Metal. Michael Kiske is a singer like no other. Tommy is not from this planet and Dan did well. And both Tommy and Dan are avowed Michael Kiske fans. In short, Tommy certainly made all the difference. Hugs from Brazil.
Tommy & Petter did it best in my book.
Tommy and Petter❤️❤️👍👍
Tommy and Petter are the best.
Definitely Dan & Victor. They blessed us with both the highers & the lowers that this monotonous song needed. 🎵
As much as I love ❤❤❤Dan❤❤❤, this goes to Tommy❤ and Petter❤
All were good but Tommy and Petter absolutly best
Tommy and Petter are the best! 🙌🙌🙌

That was Petter who I believe joined Majestica now.
@@deniseduncan7363Petter has been in Majestica for a while now 😀
No one, NOONE, does a cover better than Dan!
I thought Tommy and Dan excelled and were actuall_ better than the original! Dan gets my vote, however. He is just so clear with his enunciation and his joy and presence can't be beat! ❤
10 points to Tommy and Petter 💥🤘❤️

Tommy J has done a cover with Erik Grönwall (Skidrow) a few days ago. It's the song Carolus Rex by Sabaton. I rally like it so check it out!
Cool concept. More, please. BTW I vote for Dan and Victor!
I really liked seeing the original and then the covers! Great reaction VASC nation ❤
Definitely Tommy and Petter. Dan and Victor are an awesome pair, love them, but Tommy and Petter killed this in no uncertain terms.
Now even more I want a Dan and Tommy collaboration.

You mentioned folk songs. Dan Vasc does a cover of Loch Lomond the Scottish folk tune. He films it outside and acoustic. It’s beautiful.
I love Helloween!!! This is one of my favorites by them, along with Eagle Fly Free, March of Time, A Tale That Wasn't Right and the list goes on and on and on!!!
HAIL VASC NATION!
MY BOY DAN IS THE BEST, IS THE MAN.
❤ from Rio-Brazil
Dan Vasc is the best!!❤
Closest to the original was Dan but best were Tommy & Petters in my opinion.
I'm drawn between Dan Vasc and Tommy/Petter.
Dan Vasc and Victor the guitar nerd took this
For me, Dan Vasc is way ahead 🤘. The original comes second and Tommy with his friend comes third. Basically everyone did a great job 👌
I liked all the versions! Not going to pick a favorite. But I will be looking up Petter Hjerpe! Thanks, I enjoyed it.
For me Dan with a guitarist Victor is the best version.
His clarity of voice and his special execution of the songs are impressive.

Loved seeing these all “side by side”-thanks, Joel!
Pra mim Dan é muito fraquinho, com certeza Tommy e Petter os melhores .💯👍☺️😎👏

Covers are great, yeah but the original always makes the run for me...esp Michael Kiske in his prime was a vocal monster.
🎉🎉🎉
Dan first, original second and Tommy last. Sorry, that's the way my ears here them. Thank you for your reaction to these.
