In Germany, I am always asked two questions, "Caste System" and "Slums". Those who grew up here mostly say, "I have nothing to do with India" and try to be more German than Germans

I grew up in an area with a lot of Indian and Asian people (I knew like five white people in high school), and it genuinely didn’t occur to me until 3rd grade that not everyone had another language at home or were the children of immigrants. When this white girl from Utah told me they spoke English at home, I assumed that she just never learned her mother tongue, so I asked what her parents spoke, then her grandparents. Then I asked if her family was from England. I just didn’t know that being from America for so many generations that you actually forgot was even an option. Never occurred to me.

I enjoy Akaash’s comedy, even though he will make fun of the Indian culture, it’s done tastefully without offending the sentiments.
    He is genuinely funny.

Party preferences based on age is probably true across all races in America except for families who generationally support a party.

India is a multi-culture which was there for centuries, and all the cultures live in harmony or at least try to co-exist compared to Europeans. American is relatively new, it's hardly 80 years old, therefore they are confused in all sense

It's NOT 80 years old, USA has been an independent republic since 1776. Its culture is basically Anglo Protestant as a result.

Notwithstanding the US history of white supremacy and racial discrimination, presently, non- white others have special standing and are accounted for within the constitutional, political, and economic order via Civil Rights consensus ! So everything is governed by the Rule of law: based on equality, liberty and justice that informs every institution/ system! Plain sailing……🙌👏👏👏God bless America 🇺🇸🙏

Every Indian American has a different experience depending on when they arrived to USA or when they were born. Before the 80s US was far more racist, 90s and beyond far more integrated and diverse.
My America is of the 90s era and I have always been known as an Indian American. Indian heritage, as in not born/raised in India. I have no confusion on this issue .
I have been to India in recent times after many years and I can say, after one month in India , I was ready to go back home. While India is my spiritual home . It will never be my present home as I don't connect with modern India or its culture.
No interest in Bollywood or Cricket. For me its all about ancient India and the Vedic Knowledge. That's the Indian in me.
Term ABC is highly offensive and ignorant. The only ones who are confused are (some, not all) Indians from India who some how think some one raised or born in a different country should act, behave like an Indian from India. Now that to me is beyond confusing. That to me is a Confused Hindustani !
Term Desi: Is only applicable for locals as in some one born bred in India. Its still a insulting term in my opinion as it sounds like you are saying they are not educated or sophisticated. In the old days they would refer Desi to some village idiot who cant adapt to city life in big urban cities like Mumbai/New Delhi !
In my humble opinion people should NEVER use terms like Desi, ABC etc unless they are very close friends and know it would NOT be taken as an offence. Meeting a stranger and calling them Desi or ABC might result in a rude response like, F. U MATHER CH_ D ! lol

If you're that much into ancient India and Vedic culture, then aspire to living in a rural temple area of your native state.

@@cg8397If you want to learn Vedic knowledge you need to find Vedic scholar's. There are a few good places for that in India and in the US too.
