I love my CX405. For my type of videos, more technical things generally, it works well. Zoom is great. I can set it up on a tripod, plug in a power bank and it will record for hours when some other cameras like many DSLR cameras only record for short time and stop and you have to restart. One main complaint is I wish it had an external mic input.

I have watched this video a few times. I liked it alot and just got the same camcorder. Had a question, did you do the video on AUTO ? I used it and was trying MANUAL but the exposure is way too bright.

I love the aesthetic of a digital camera but i love camcorders more!! This camcorder is one of the many i can afford by myself and its currently in my shopping cart. Can camcorders take pictures or is it just for video? I especially love taking pictures so i hope a camcorder can do that.

Thats cool bro! Record in avchd setting on the camera! As for the aspect ratio, on your editing app, change your timeline settings to 1440 x 1080 for that 4:3 look :)

Hey very nice footage. Just bought the CX405 because of you. I have a question - when i upload on youtube my footage have black bars on left and right (if i hold my phone vertical not horizental) how do you upload your video that this doesn't happen and fills the whole screen?
Hi! I’m glad you got the handycam :) personally i have not tried uploading without black bars :( in this video i use 4:3 aspect ratio

hi! i just switched it to avchd and everything is on auto :) the image that comes out of it is great!
oh did you have to switch it? Mine came in avchd already, I think that’s just the default settings. Anyway, if you’d like to try, you can change the file format to xavc s hd, frame rate 50p, and 100 for the shutter speed. These improve the quality slightly but still has that nostalgic feeling. If you don’t like the result, you can initialize and the camera will go back to the default settings. I learned this from Ian Craig here on youtube. I’ll link his video if you’d like to watch it.

recording in FULLHD? 1080? this camera
Yes, and 50-60 fps. Although it's FHD 1080, the quality isn't as clear as mid to high-end cameras. This is a really small and light camera with a small lens, so it should be expected.

Thank you! I put my micro sd with its included sd card adapter :) and then in my mac I use a USB hub from “ugreen”

Hi! it has a flip up screen that can use for vlogging so you can see yourself :)
I think that the fact that ZOOMERS (Gen z) are mass-switching to camcorders and retro cameras proves how crappy the iPhone's camera is. iPhone cameras are worse than cameras from 1995.
iPhone sensors are objectively better, but they come with horrible post-processing that makes everything look saturated, sharp, and fake. Camcorders are worse but people choose them because they show more personality through low fidelity flaws.
