Yeah a part of each other Davy said he watched Circus Boy and wanted to be Circus boy (mickey then he got to work with him they were the same age & clicked
This is about their friendship, but, even more interestingly, about the band's relationship to its fans. Davy wrote a song also called YOU AND I when with the Monkees in/around 1968 which could easily be read as a song about them leaving the popular scene, about the beginning of them fading from their peak popularity. And then, in the 90's a song with the very same title which quite clearly is about their friendship as well as The Monkees returning to their fans, renewed popularity (and to each other). Neat that both songs work on several levels, and that they are "symmetrical"/come full circle...AND have the very same title. To mangle Yogi Berra's famous quote "it's like deja vu repeating history all over again"!
Like all of us I am so sad we won't see David perform or talk to him anymore. We all miss him so much. His family, friends, and fans.He was such a wonderful person. Not only was he talented he was also a very kind person.I really enjoyed this video.Thank you for sharing
Neither Mickey nor Davy had brothers , nor sons . They were like brothers to each other . Tork not so much, Nesmith avoided the other Monkees for years.
This is my observation: First of all neither of them had any brothers NOR did they have sons, they both ended up with 4 beautiful daughters each. That said - i've watched their comraderie on the show and it is totally clear how brotherly they were toward each other. I've seen it in interviews - i've just finished watching an interview with the Dolenz girls - they all said how much Davy and their dad were close (and Davy's daughters are close to them too) Again - observing them on the Monkee tv show and seeing how they interact with each other and seeing the above video... well it is clear the 'brotherly' luv they had for each other . Wonder why they didn't have the same comradare with Mike and Peter - maybe its cos Micky and Davy had more similar backgrounds - actors/singer etc.. oh and they were also closer in age than the other two. Mike and Peter were older by a few years. (Mike and Davy shared the same birthdate but Mike was 2 years older)
I met Davy and Micky in 1994 ! I loved still love Davy !
What a beautiful song! A beautiful friendship! Friends forever!!
Yes!! Micky and Davy wrote this one about their friendship, and performed it together many times!!

And here I thought the first one was about Stephen Stills' long friendship with Neil Young... (Ha ha)

Lead guitar on this was played by Neil Young.
It first appeared on Dolenz,Jones,Boyce & Hart

Micky has no brother nor son. Davy was the only brother of Micky.
Davy has no brother or son either .
Mike has three sons and Peter had one. However, most of the Monkees' kids are girls (11 girls and 4 boys).
Mike's oldest son was born in 1965 and at least two of Peter's three children were born in the 1970's.
Like milk and cookies
