Get this calculator as soon as you start college! get used to it. It is the greatest tool available. Most teachers don't know of all the features and will usually let you use them in cases where they don't allow Graphing calculators. The "table" option is almost like graphing, its awesome.

They do know the features, but it's still a "scientific" calculator. It can't be programmed and it can't do some of the other more complex calculations a graphing calculator can.

Thanks for the demonstrations. It was helpful to see details of how you use this calculator.
One small point -- when you wrote out the results of the polar conversion of 6 + 2i, you made the mistake a lot of my students have made: to round a number correctly, you don't just cut off the trailing digits -- if the next digit is 5 or more, you round it upward. 6.324555etc. does not round to 6.324, it rounds to 6.325.

I was wondering when someone would mention that! haha I noticed that error during my editing, but since this was just a calculator tutorial video, I didn't go back to correct it. Thank you for keeping me honest though! lol

Thank you for this video. I just got the TI-36X Pro, which I am using for a PhD stats class. I really liked your video, especially the final part where you did the statistical analysis.

When solving for the cross product, it's a tad faster to copy/paste the previous dot product, then change the dot product to cross product. For me, it gets tedious repeatedly inserting each vector/matrix over and over.

The TI-36X Solar isn’t even available anymore unless you buy a used one on EBAY. It was a good calculator for its time.
The older calculators didn’t even have built in complex number capability. If you had a programmable calculator, you could create a program to simulate complex numbers. Other than that, you had to keep track of the algebra and the imaginary part yourself.

I love my TI-36 X Pro! ... But it suffers from one major flaw, it has a very low input capacity, around 40 bytes of input characters. When I tried to solve the simple Manning equation for fluid flow in the Solver, I quickly ran out of input memory, and I had to pull out my 2-line Casio 991MS to solve it. The same goes for solving financial equations using a row of just THREE fractions that have 6 characters in both the numerator and denominator; the TI runs out of input capacity, whereas the Casio has 80 bytes of input capacity...

      @@loganrempe9625 --I'll show you what I mean...
I tried to solve the very simple Internal Rate of Return using my TI-36 X Pro Solver, but was out of memory! Too bad! This is not good for the Pro version of the TI-36... Please see the video below and you will understand why you should ALWAYS carry a simple fx-991MS with you anywhere you take your 36X Pro!
Just jump to the 00:50 mark in this video. It's very interesting!

Now, try to input this simple quotient-sum in your Solver!

@@GeoCalifornian does the Fx-991 MS allow you use values from previous line of calculations the way the Ti-36x does? I like seeing the trail of my calculations and being able to simply select the answer for use in another calculation. Please is this possible with the Fx-991 MS?

Agree. I, too, get this error often. A way around it is to simply your eqn as much as possible and try again.
This approach works well under casual scenario. But under a stressful scenario such as the one during an FE and PE, it does not work.

Hi. I am trying to get ready for my FE Exam. I just got TI-36X Pro... and thank you to explain step by step how to use it. I tried to apply your concept into two different types of matrixs one with 3x3 and the other 2x2 but it gives me an error message. Can you math two different matrixs or both have to be in the same magnitude to be calc? The samething happens calc vectors... it works with two same coefficient but not different... Ex. i + j + z X i -z...

    • @neo11222
      @neo11222 ปีที่แล้ว

you are getting the error because: in order to multiply matrices, the number of columns of the first matrix must be eaual to the number of rows of the second matrix.
      like a 3x2 matrix and a 2x2 matrix.

As a math and physics teacher I am astounded by the lack of knowledge in using calculators. This generation just uses their phone. I had a student that did not know how to divide on a calculator. One of my physics labs is dedicated to calculator use.

Ti36x pro can't do indefinite integrals, derivatives, nor evaluate limits. It's crazy I've watched 5 videos and nobody mentioned that, yet talk about a bunch of shi that doesn't really even matter. Casio 115ex plus can do all three, plus everything the TI can do.
