I just picked up the PRW-6600-ACR and now I'm looking at one of these 2 in titanium. I can't stop buying protreks.😅 I think they are officially my fav watch brand now. 😅 I even want some of the all-digital newer PRW-30s. Especially since the newer Protreks don't need strap adapters and I love putting my Casios on canvas or stretchy paratrooper bands. I've got dive watches, field watches and dress watches from Seiko, Victorinox and some domestic North American brands and its my Protreks plus my Solar Gshook 5600 and Rangeman watch that I keep coming back too. Heck, I just gave my Gshock GA-1000A gravity master to my nephew for signing up to join the Canadian forces. I'm proud as heck of him. That was my first Gshock about 6-7 years ago and other than being a battery hog it runs and looks like the day I bought it (minus one ding in the plastic case) even though I've put quite a few hikes and fishing trips on it. Also, try as I might whenever I think of buying a new Protrek I come back to your vids cause nobody reviews them other than you and some Russians. I partially blame Casio for not officially bringing a lot of watches over here. They are such great alternatives and better than some of the bulky Gshocks and their ABC functions/sensors just CANT be beat.
I got my Dr. Wako package today. Professional Naniwa Stones. All grits. the 12000 is a bit different and feels like quality leather.Diamond Naniwa Stones all grits. Sharp shooter strops, all models, some more than one. And two Bark River Knives. Both with Ironwood burl handles, redlinesr, and mosaic pins. Kephart 4 with super beautiful dark brown leather sheath witch I accidentally teared it with its blade while putting the knife back inside. It happened because sheath is much longer than blade and the end portion bended a bit while I was trying to put it back. Bad design, thin and long :( And the DPCH which I don’t like the sheath. Both knives are so so so beautiful. but non of them are quite fit for my hand. Acceptable. Old buck vanguard handle is my lovely one. And Fallkniven A1 pro, and most Mara knives. The good news is because of you both blades have great thin convex. A tiny micro bevel at right side and a tiny tiny tine at left side. I sharpened both easily with my own made strop loaded with diamond paste. They are my first CPM 3v Knives. And about the stones, they look so beautiful that I cannot use them. And I love you

So I'm guessing you went with the 60 then? How's it been after 4 months? I have the Safari PRG600Y and I love it but the 60 has a more classical? and cleaner looking face which I like. You and others have given me the itch to start my own small budget mindful Casio collection and this is the next on my list. Most likely cause like you, I want good night illumination for use while sleeping. I love the backlight and loom on some of these new Casio watches. Anything like Protrek 7000 in that department always grabs my attention. I always wanted a 7000 after your original vid on that watch but it will always be far out of my price range. Hopefully I can find a 60 on a good sale. Probably the next amazon summer or black friday sale or something. 😅 Thx for the vid. I always enjoy it when you put something out.
I sold the 50 off and wear only the 60 or the 7000 now because of their readability at night. The 50 looked like a toy finally to me. Your thought sounds very right. Thanks.

Yeah, it is a bit disappointing they didn't put any of that loom they use that pops in their other watches that use blacklight LEDS on the numerals of the daily. That's a real misstep. Plus they really need to offer a tough alternative like gorilla glass or sapphire for the crystals at these price points nowadays. Heck, I put gorilla glass screen protectors on all my protreks and gshocks now. 5 dollars for some peace of mind. Why Casio can't put a 20-30 buck or lower sapphire crystal in the mid teir watches is beyond me.
I love Casio watches but the model selection and availability in Canada is terrible. Do you have an opinion on the Casio smart watches? I've seen some on sale lately but they are still expensive in comparison to other offerings.

All Bark Rivers are in the same convex grind except for the bevel height. CPM3V is as easy to sharpen as A2 because the 3V is just tougher than A2 Thanks.
@@virtuovice ok I see that after some searching now. Ended up going with the daytime safari version of the 650. The 50 is only available in the white face in Canada and its hard to find. Also I am going to stay away from atomic as people of been saying they are going to shut down the tower at Fort Collins and that makes atomic useless in North America. 😒. Well at least if that happens Casio can't make models that they charge a 100 dollars or more just because they have atomic here. Lol
Hello Again Let’s face it. Time to talk the truth. I believe Bark River charges good money, uses best materials (wood, steel, leather, pins) copy others designs, and makes beautiful but completely useless knives. I am very angry. My brand new sheath is ruined just after opening. and both knives handles are quite uncomfortable. CDPH handle is too short and the end portion’s angles are too sharp and the Kephart handle is too long with big pointy angled front portion (near ricasso) which doesn’t let side/pinch holding. And end of the handle is too fat for my pinky. They are so beautiful with so high end that it’s like a black hole on my heart right now. I am not angry with my money loss. I’m angry that I difficulty ordered them, very difficulty got them carried to me, I waited for them with lots of hope and I love them but they are so disappointing. Sad
I would love to see your current knife collection and your thoughts on your favorite knives. I think a lot of people miss your awesome knife videos.

I prefer square Casio, W217 or W218 for casual all day use, Gshock DW 5600 or GW 5600 would be an excellent choice.

If you got the white faced 50 would it be more readable at night?
The hands glowing in the dark don't show well on the white dial. So you shouldn't look at the white dial models.
