This is a brilliant video!! I used to work with Malcolm & Joe for a couple of years at Boston, we used to load the steel trains and look after the trackwork. I was honoured to be able to write an obituary for Malcolm after he passed away suddenly, for the Nene Valley Railway where I had first met him and for which organisation he had held many roles including Chairman for a number of years. Thanks, again, for the video, brought back some great memories.

What a fasinating video, I live very close to this line & it was nice to see it in another way than just waiting for the locos to cross the crossing. I’m sure that it must have been filmed 10 or 15 yrs ago as the supermarket is now a home & hobby store, there are now all apartments where the containers were in the yard & there is also now a stone depot where you stood to film the train. (As of Dec 2018) I’m sure on one clip where the locos are on the bridge, I’m stood with my then young son at the time, he was interested in trains then & still is now.

When we worked at Boston we used to park our cars in the Co-Op car park, opposite the octagonal signal box by the crossing. We used to wonder how they kept going, must have made a daily loss, never more than two dozen customers in there. And Dunhams Butchers!! Brilliant cold filled rolls, bought Christmas meat there, pasties and Haslet!
