how can one dislike this Video? These where the dayz!!!! I thank Quo from the depths of my heart for influencing me deeply with their sound between 'Mw Kelly's..' and the 'Live' record. ULTIMATE rock! Best!! Liveact on earth!
Ich sah sie 9 April 1977 Ostersamstag in München mit Small Faces, Dr Feelgood, Und Scprpions, Da war noch was los. Boogie im Quadrat. Das waren die geilen 70s Quo live. Thanxxx for Good Times
so sad this band blew its last breath when the drummer left in 1981. the 70's where their years anyway, THIS is how I remember "my" QUO. Nice footage, thanks for sharing :)
Great Eatern Rock'n'Blues Express in der Westfalenhalle Dortmund Ostern 1977, Status Quo als Headliner, supergeiles Konzert, vergess ich nie: Quoo-oohohoohoh!!!
hhmmm.... Piledriver, Hello!, Quo, On The Level, Blue For You, Live, Rockin' All Over The World. Gotta be Heaven!! Still crank up the volume when I put them on!! The Mrs doesn't understand me!! Get out the air guitar!! lmao!!
@heisteg Mein erster Konzertbesuch war 1975 in der kölner Sporthalle. Das berste und eins der besten Konzerte die ich bislang miterleben dürfte. Status Qou forever.
i was there, ended up back stage with Francis Rossi, Roy Wood and met Vinegar Joe (Robert Palmer and Elke Brookes ) I thought i was the only English kid there...it was loud very loud
I rediscovered Quo in '75 when their backlog of LPs hit the cut-out racks. I had no idea they had done anything beyond the "Matchstick Men" days. I also had no idea they were hugely popular in Europe, but viewed as dinosaurs by the rock press there. So it's '76, this comes out, and no one in the States knows, because the hipster press is going nuts over the Ramones and punk. As far as I can hear, the Quo beat the Ramones to the punch.with their Piledriver LP in '72.
What's with the stooopid triangle thing during the performance? U don't fook around with music this honest and raw. U just film it as it is in the flesh, no fancy crap.
the days as quo was rockin' after coghlan and lancaster left the band died, at least their groove did! and with the armyjoke they burried themselfs alive! so here's the good old days, in unbelievable bad quality...
They were never this heavy again after this, for the next tour they changed the backline from Marshall amps to Vox AC30 and Andy Brown with the Keyboards / Piano to deliberately soften the sound.
I never saw the Frantic 4, however when I saw JC in Aldershot last year, it was clear to me anyway, that it's not the bass playing that's the void, but the drums. JC is in my opinion, up there with Bonham in terms of power, which is what half the Quo sound to me is anyway.
Newworldman, i would say with the shameful rockin all over the world their downgrade began. In the worst possible way. I was 7yrs when i began to listen to quo back in 1980 and the Live Album was one of my most if not the most essential record of my early years. It's also the best live album ever released!
Not perfect but looking pretty good for a 30 year old clip. Song more ferocious live than on record. Still surprised their later music isn't well known in the states.
Lancaster was a rock solid foundation to this awesome band. He had a great voice.
The real quo.. The great days.. 🎸🎸💯🎸🎸
der erste Konzertbesuch meines Lebens 1977 Stadthalle Bremerhaven, absolut genial!

When Quo PROPERLY rocked, before their cheesy pop rock of the 1980s... :(
so sad this band blew its last breath when the drummer left in 1981.

Nice footage, thanks for sharing :)

Alan Lancaster RIP - Rest In Power!!!

hhmmm.... Piledriver, Hello!, Quo, On The Level, Blue For You, Live, Rockin' All Over The World. Gotta be Heaven!! Still crank up the volume when I put them on!! The Mrs doesn't understand me!! Get out the air guitar!! lmao!!

Status Qou forever.
Great Quo track bloody good recording for live , could hear everything .
Exactly, they are still great live but at this time they were unbeatable, even better than Led Zeppelin
those first few chords all ways remind me of "money for nothing", seein quo on Tuesday, cant wait!!
Ouch! 1977 and I was 17 ❤️
my fav QUO MAN,,ONLY AND ONE ALAN LANCASTER,,
They came out in the seventies with thin Lizzy Phil lynet was really the all-star
Father Zeus..These melodies can make a fat man fly!
Thanks for putting this on here great band and great song just as I remember them.
Cheers
How could a band go from this to a joke!
when you here this this must be why they got to be such a massive band
me hubiera gustado ver a lancaster en el concierto realizado en mexico
original line up=shit hot! every one a classic!rock on
live at the apollo i used to turn 1 speaker just to listen to parfitts driveing rythym guitar
Rock on Quo.
i was there, ended up back stage with Francis Rossi, Roy Wood and met Vinegar Joe (Robert Palmer and Elke Brookes ) I thought i was the only English kid there...it was loud very loud
Good thing for this song, or Turbonegro would've probably never existed. Class.
Spot on.

@DieNetaDie
enery lost in 81 when john left, they DIED when Alan left
lancaster rocks on this!the one and only
there is no better way this is the real quo as it should be raw and very gritty if yo you know wot i mean
Ich stimme dir zu!
kicks ass
@DieNetaDie I agree Alan was the one who wanted to keep the rock side to their music and Francis liked the country side.
the last real good studio album they made Blue for you
HELL YES!!!!!!
think it's from the daily mirror pop n rock awards 1976
im sure this footage was from bingley hall staffs, IT WAS SHOWN LATER ON BBC2? I WASTHERE AS A 17 YEAR OLD, NEVER FORGOT HOW GUD THEY WERE
What's with the stooopid triangle thing during the performance? U don't fook around with music this honest and raw. U just film it as it is in the flesh, no fancy crap.

❤
"Hello!" is their best album, "Piledriver" at second place!
Frantic Four, Class...End Of Story
They were never this heavy again after this, for the next tour they changed the backline from Marshall amps to Vox AC30 and Andy Brown with the Keyboards / Piano to deliberately soften the sound.
Show me this full concert someone!!!!!

nwm123 , unfortunately u nailed it, as metallica growled, sad but true
This is heawy!
I'm sure this was the Daily Mirror awards ?
bad quality, but thats the atmosphere

Is that Stafford Bingley Hall??
cant compare these two bands. each have a style of their own. i like kiss also. but being a huge quo fan they dont come near :)
Van Martin where was this concert? I mean since you were there you should know
Shame they did not use Lancaster more on vocals.
Actually it was in 1975
your father is so right :)
Not perfect but looking pretty good for a 30 year old clip. Song more ferocious live than on record. Still surprised their later music isn't well known in the states.
if that song did not blow your socks off then hold on tight to your shitters .............................
kiss?
great vid? is there any other footage from this gig? i think Alan lancaster is way better than that muppet edwards!
that place is too big to be the Apollo, looks like European velodrome type place
When Status Quo lost Alan Lancaster, their original bassist, they lost a lot of their energy.
I agree with stevemilligan - Rinho looks like a bad drunk man... Lancaster is the only quo-bass player
