The way they talk about "clown" sounds so weird to me. It sounds like they are talking about an alien or something, like a clown is a different species 😅. Can someone explain why "clown" is different from just being a comedy stage performer in general? Is it just a comedian who uses props? Isn't that called a prop comic? Because to me a clown is a guy with a painted face and silly clothes.
id be more than happy to explain!! they're using "clown" like that because they're referring to the style, like how you'd say "jazz" (over in the uk, we usually say "clowning", though). there are different types of clown, but they all involve physicality as the main form of performance, and most of them include prop comedy and/or audience interaction. you don't have to have a silly costume to be a clown, but a lot of them have at least one piece (traditionally either a hat, tie, nose, braces/suspenders etc). if you're interested in this sort of thing, i'd recommend "why is that so funny?" by john wright as a starter!!
a fond look back at clown college, though the phrase “edging on clown” needs to be deleted from this short and my brain thank you
"DOP CourtneyDiscoveredClown 60s"
You sure that's the title you wanna go with for this short, dropout? Lol, I am here too early
She was really good on FailArmy U with Chris and the other chap. Really enjoyed that. It seems to have vanished from the internet now though
