It's definitely handy to keep a mini fridge in rooms away from the kitchen, we keep ours in our basement/home theater. But I definitely recommend buying reusable insulated water bottles and tumblers instead of using tiny plastic bottles. For guests, we've switched from plastic bottled water to double-walled glasses and they enjoy it a lot more since the drinks stay cold!
