What I love about making art is that it can be so very therapeutic to the artist.

Jan Akkermans idol was a dutch guitar Player Eelco Gelling, who played in Cuby and the Blizzards

The unusual intro was actually the ending of their song "Sylvia"

Absolutely fantastic and insane song by a legendary band. Although I must admit that I personally prefer the NBC's Midnight Special live version of this song. :)

Yes, we do too, but this one had the holiday message and we felt it was timely :-)

Heh heh, I'm old enough to remember when this song came out back in my junior year of high school, and it's been one of my favorites for years! Thijs van Leer, is a complete maniac and one of the best keyboardists out there.🤣 This was the original 'headbanger' rock!! (BTW, don't think I've seen this version with the Christmas greetings)😁👍👍

Shame you didn't show the 1973 live performance in the Midnight Special show, way crazier than this.
If you want to check out another great Dutch band that really mixes genres interestingly and has great musicians is Urban Dance Squad, mix of rock and rap. Let's just say that Rage Against the Machine admitted to be heavily influenced by them, so you know a bit what sort of music to expect. Especially live they were a fantastic band

It's not a shame at all, since we know the other live version very well for many years. However in retrospect, we wish we would have used that other live version for the reaction. Thanks for watching 🤘

That's one of my all-time favorite songs believe it or not, but we both know it all too well. The Dutch have brought us some great bands and guitar players. Maybe we will try to find somebody doing an interesting cover of it. If you know of any, please do share.🤘

Pop quiz: Name a second (hit) song by Focus. Anyone, anyone, Bueller, Bueller!! Loves me some of Thjis van Leer's excellent and quite unique
skills combination of flute and yodeling. Yer move, Mr. Ian Anderson!! P.S. this track was many great old time rock jams used to great effect
in that awesome flick "Baby Driver" two-and-a-half years ago. However, "Baby Driver" by KISS wasn't. Ironic? Well, go ask the lovely Miss
Alanis 'bout that one!! One thing's fer certain, quite glad that this tune wasn't being performed on the less-commonly-known SKIN FLUTE!!!

Nice thorough comment as always sir. Were you perhaps speaking of the song Sylvia ('72)?

Not familiar with that track, so back to the proverbial musical romper room for this self-described and quite-delusional MUSICAL EXPERT. Fer shame!!!
