To improve HDR saturation levels, Windows HDR Calibration with the saturation slider dragged all the way up appears to strike a better balance than Digital Vibrancy and can also be used with AMD GPUs. And it's more convenient as you can have Windows use the ICC profile for HDR only. Will is covered in our 'Best Settings' video for the AG346UCD which shares this issue - th-cam.com/video/d0l5BLWmoBU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=02pFlYREr6xp1X_c&t=277.
@PCMonitors Thanks. I found myself switching between the panel colours and sRGB in SDR. Both have their advantages. And yes, it is annoying to go to Nvidia Panel every time before using SDR to tone down the colour vibrance. Will try the program you mentioned, thanks for that.
Do you have any preferred settings for this monitor when only using it to play with a ps5 pro? Seems like most settings are locked and you can only adjust the HDR settings, lighting effects, volume and OSD.
Auto HDR is rubbish in my opinion, you should observe actual HDR content designed for HDR (or use RTX HDR instead of Auto HDR for content without its own good HDR implementation). On this model it's worth using the HDR Calibration Tool and upping the saturation slider during the process.
@@PCMonitors colors look washed out for sure in hdr. I did the same as you did, 65% digital vibrance and I tested it in doom eternal. Looks solid so I thank you.
These settings are suitable (and would be used by me) for both. But it ultimately comes down to your own preferences. I cover visibility enhancement in the video because some people prefer that for a competitive edge over things looking "as they should".
Nice video i ordered same model and it shoukd arrive in about a hour or so im hyoed cuz im switch Ing from 1080p 144hz 1ms gaming LG ultragear to this so over all this is gonna bé massive jump in visual look. Great video i use this as base but i beard that this monitor is really nice out of the box anyway.
@@Chazie_ yes I did, my mistake was clicking it instead of legit holding the joystick attached to the monitor down long enough for the screen to go black. The light then flickers white and the pixel refresh starts. Although I don’t know when exactly to know the time it finishes, I assume it’s when the light stops flickering
Just got the monitor yesterday, I've been using your settings but I want to increase the brightness and contrast a bit more. Is that alright? Something like 70 Contrast 80 Brightness Does it run the lifespan down faster?
You shouldn't increase contrast, it upsets the image by crushing brighter shades together. Higher brightness is fine and has to be set according to preferences, as noted in the video. It will naturally increase burn-in risk, but it's hard to say whether that will actually have an impact on you or whether the impact is at all significant.
All you can do is reduce fluctuations by changing graphics settings - or disable VRR. Some people find reduced monitor brightness and more lighting in the room helps draw the eye away from it a little but the most obvious VRR flickering can still be noticeable .
Can someone explain to me hour the 4 hour calibration works? I game/stream and if I’m playing for 4 hours and that comes up what do I do? Will I void warranty if I wait till I’m finished gaming or can I take a break to do that every 4 hours? Thanks
You just run the cycle when you can. It won't void the warranty if you don't do it every 4 hours religiously. It's only after 16 hours after not running the cycle that it will get "annoyed" and force the refresh. This is explained in the video.
As noted in the video, if you leave the monitor on (in standby - signal is lost to the system so it goes to sleep) and it runs the pixel refresh itself then it should resume the standby state afterwards. Therefore there isn't a need to press the joystick. That's how it worked for me and how it's described in the manual as well.
@PCMonitors sometimes I turn on the computer, and after 5 minutes I have a reminder to pixels refresh. what needs to be activated in the menu so that it refresh itself when it standby?
do you have idea why i can only get 200hz? its the highest option in windows and nividia control panel. Im using the dp cable it came with, and have tried reinstalled my gpu driver.. but still only 200hz :S

Thank you! My monitor is coming in a few days, and your video really puts my mind at ease. No more headless-chicken internet browsing!
Thank you just got mine and its amazing cant wait to try the hdr now i know what settings to use
Saw this monitor on sale last BF! Sadly i was late to purchase it for $399 i think this was the cheapest OLED.
Fascinating and helpful video thanks. I've been wondering about this and even more so the bigger 32" 4K 165hz version.
Do you know when your review will be available?
And many thanks for the settings

Love to see more Monitor from AOC
Do the negatives that I mentioned about HDR apply to the 4k AOC AG326UD screen, and are there other negatives?
Are you using any specific color profiles on Windows?
No.
my screen is just super dark with shadow control set to 0
when i set game mode off the colors looks faded sometimes but sometimes looks saturation
Isnt 160 Nits Target suuuuper dark? I struggle to see some stuff with max Brightness on this Monitor
No, it's a pretty normal brightness and suitable for my lighting environment and sensitivity. Most people set their monitors between 100 - 200 nits.
This will be my first OLED monitor, how often should I run the pixel refresh cycle? Can't it just run itself when the monitor is turned off?
Yes, as noted in the video it will run if you turn the monitor off (with the power button).
Do you have any preferred settings for this monitor when only using it to play with a ps5 pro? Seems like most settings are locked and you can only adjust the HDR settings, lighting effects, volume and OSD.
You have HDR enabled on the PS5, so your available settings on the monitor are as shown in the HDR section. You can disable HDR on the PS5.

@@PCMonitors when it comes to PS5 HDR, obviously there is no digital vibrance setting. Would you still recommend HDR over SDR?
the n-vidia digitale vibrance is it on a pc or on the monitor
