This part is something I never thought too many would understand, back in my hometown Phoenix, Arizona, I was involved in gangs, heavy dealing, robbery, etc… you name it and I bet I did it at least once. Mixin that with an abusive household at my grandmas crib, never had a mom or dad I was raised by my dads momma and step dad, I wanted change for myself, I was getting arrested and tired of walking on glass everywhere I went. So as soon as I hit 18 I left to Chicago, my mommas brother lived out there which is where my momma from, 3 days after I hit 18 it was official, I landed in Chicago and it only took a month to fall back into that life I thought I left in Arizona. I ended up getting locked up again, facing 10 years in prison, and I was 18 at the time. I stayed in cook county jail for 7 months and my lawyer made a deal with the DA that I should get one more chance at life, they reached out to my Aunt in Dallas, Texas and asked if I could go stay with her to change my life around, she agreed. I got released that day and did 2 months on ankle monitor and then 1 day after getting it removed I was on a flight to Texas. Fast forward 3 years later I’m 22 years old, married, with my own place and an almost 6 month old son and a high paying job, my wife don’t even have to go to work no more. I thought I’d be dead at this age. Change is possible, you’ll make it. I promise.

I unexpectedly lost my momma at 59 yo the other day…. Was also the first day I heard this song…. It hits differently…. God rest her soul…. My poor father suffering I’ve never seen so much pain in somebody’s eyes as I’ve seen in his lately….. 38 years they loved eachother and literally did EVERYTHING together. Grocery shopped together worked together went out together….. they lost a 24 yo son together Mother’s Day 2010. Please pray for god to heal his pain!
