Absolutely amazing, the earlier work and demos have even more of the Southern Grotesque sound and imagery that originally drew me to the music in the first place. Taking such personal, horrific, and transformational experiences from the perspective of a small Southern town decayed by the rot of no jobs, addiction, stagnation, and no future to then present those immensely personal moments with such an amazing voice creates this breathtaking juxtaposition.

If you love this type of shit you should play a game (really just an interactive visual novel) called Kentucky route zero. It's a hypnotic ode to southern miserablism in a way that connects to the core of the people at the very bottom and showing the roots of life and love they try to spread despite the rot that corporate America tries to inject into their incredibly small communities. Totally changed my life, that game. AMAZING music too. ♡
