I’m not sure when I’ll be able to make this video so I’ll just answer. Besides obvious things like clothes and cosmetics, take: a lot of tights if you have uniforms, a desk lamp, an adapter for electricity, an extension cord, comfy clothes, some decoration for your room - lights, a blanket, a favourite mascot… also take some snacks from your country to share with others as an ice breaker!

I have a question:
Going to boarding school in Switzerland, where almost all of them are international students, isn't it "depressing" to know that once school is over, it will be difficult to reunite with your former classmates and friends? Well, not only will they all study in different cities of the world, but they will also probably later live in different countries of the world.
Unlike boarding schools in the United States or the United Kingdom, for example, where they know that their colleagues and friends will probably continue to live in certain cities or countries, and maintaining contacts for life will be "easier" perhaps.

I think it is a big part of the experience, knowing that you probably won't have many opportunities to reunite with the whole group of friends, and sometimes, it's depressing. The upside is that most of the people going to boarding schools like that have money to travel a lot, and so, you'll probably end up meeting them again. Also, some of my friends went on multiple trips together, and I guess they'll continue doing that.
Then, you can stay in touch online, of course. I've stayed in touch with one of my closest friends, and we haven't seen each other for nearly 2 years.

I want to send my kids to this school, I am from america. But they can quit if they dont like it there. I plan to rent a house in crans montana so I can ski with them. but I think 4 years is too long for them to be away, maybe 1 or 2 years is best.

Natalie, im convincing my parents that I could go to a boarding school in Switzerland the school is called "Leysin American school (LAS)" its expensive but I've studied there before over the course for summer. I've tried saying to them "I can't really deal with online school properly, the teachers put less effort in teaching, they randomly give unreasonable attitude grades and the learning quality has decreased." I said to them that it could effect my college application and would not be good for my future. they said "the school is mostly based on sports and the education would not be that big of a difference" they haven't even took a close look to the school. I told them" its a place to learn where different people around the world gather to learn and also learning online doesn't make me better, I benifit from face to face learning. they said but its expensive. but how is it expensive when they send all my siblings to study abroad at England they are being Unreasonable. I also told them that "I've made some of my favourite memories there with friends from different countries I had the time of my life there." they still would not listen to me and I don't know what to do
Can they afford it? (Not trying to be rude) it's about 99,000 CHF + 8,000 towards a capital improvement fund that's not part of the tuition and when you add in personal expenses and other stuff. It comes out to well over 115,000 CHF a year and possibly more. They do have a scholarship program, but it's very hard to get. Good luck!
Hey. First, I also went to LAS for the summer and it was great. I guess you could try to give them some specific reasons, like that you want to study certain subjects. I actually made a video on how to convince parents to let you go to the boarding school, so maybe it helps.
Then, I agree with the previous comment, it is actually very expensive. Keep in mind that other schools could offer you similar education for less, and that no school is actually perfect.
