    Highlights as Germany's Dimitrij Ovtcharov wins Bronze in the Men's Table Tennis Singles during the London 2012 Olympic Games.
    In 1926, meetings were held in Berlin and London that led to the formation of the International Table Tennis Federation. The first World Championships were held in London in 1926, but the sport had to wait a long time before it was given its Olympic debut at the 1988 Seoul Games.

    Then Olympic 2020 in Tokyo 2021, Ovcharov had 3rd place. His opponent is also from Taiwan, Lin Yu Ju.

    I loved how Ovtcharov did not have an immediate reaction after just winning the bronze medal but instead thought the game was still going on until he turned around and saw his coach who was out of his seat already celebrating.

    From 1988 to 2012 4th place in singles always had European players, Dima destroyed this rule and he is first European tt player whose won two medals in one Olympiad !! Greeting from PL ;)

    Both Chuang and Ovtcharov look so young. Almost 10 years later, Ovtcharov almost got to the Olympic TT final. He gave Ma Long the toughest fight. A testament to Ovtcharov's TT skills and mental toughness. Chuang didn't do that bad either and I think Chuang is older than Ovtcharov.

    Man....Chuang so many opportunities to finish it and had game point on every game but the 5th. Ovtcharov really fought hard, congrats to him! If Chuang could have taken advantage of at least a few of those game points he lost, the match could have easily turned around. Nevertheless great play from both players!

      What are you even talking about?
      Chuang... If... Could have...
      BUT DIDN'T!
      It doesn't matter if you miss by 1 mm, 1 cm, or 1 m - you still missed (the point).
      Ovtcharov was stronger and won, end of story, congratz :)

    Cho is an easier way to say “qiu”, which means ball, so “hao cho” basically means good ball but they say “cho” for short.

    What is the triangle shaped object on the table when they're having a time out?

    • @KajurinP
      @KajurinP 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +IMT Wildturtle It's placed on the side of the table of the player who's taking the timeout and signals that there's a time out going on (as opposed to the break between the games for example) and also counts the time (1 minute). I'm not sure, but I think it might buzz or make some other noise when the time is up.

    It sounds like "cho" but not exactly. It should be "joong" and the proper Chinese writing is 中 or pingyin is "zhong." The character has many meanings. In this context, it means "hit on the spot." It commonly means "correct, right" in daily conversation.

    • @Rathky2002
      @Rathky2002 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      If they were allowed to send more than two, no other nation will have a shot at the bronze!
      In Rio for example, Ma, Xu, Zhang and Zedong would have won all three medals.
