Candlemass Albums Ranked

In this video I will be ranking the albums by the band Candlemass. This is a band that has changed their lineup often, so for every album first I will tell you its ranking, the year it came out and I will also mention the vocalists because that was what the band changed very often throughout their career, this ranking will be a worst to best, I have 13 Studio albums and I will be including the new ones Sweet Evil Sun.

I just got into these guys recently and listened to all their albums.
I actually had no idea that the newest albums were the same vocalist as the first one?! Because he sounds completely different now, still really good voice but very different to the first one. And ontop of that it's very very surprising to hear that the 2nd and 3rd albums DON'T!? have the same vocalist as the first?! Because on those the vocals sound identical? I'm confused haha.
Either way can't wait to see these guys at a festival in a couple months! My favorite albums are definitely the first 2.

Yeah, the first 2 vocalists sound very similar, but those early albums were all great.

grew up in Väsby ( suburb to stockholm) and heard these guys before they were Candlemass (Nemesis) and the metal community where we grew up werent too, impressed, except a bunch of us loving Sabbath and seeing these guys early on and knowing theyll go far was really cool.
also, Väsby had bands like Europe being the go to band back then, melodic metal was in its prime getting all the buzz.
but for us young kids loving metallica/Sabbath etc they were really a fresh take on hard rock, gotta remember Doom wasnt a term yet before these guys

Hi John!! so cool to hear your thought about Candlemass a band i'm not very familiar as i'm also not a big fan of doom because i don't like when they play to slow and gets boring, i prefer when they add some heavy metal sounds an tempo to the music. However i have heard some really cool songs, like the last single they put out from their latest record and seeing it ranking high on many list from 2022. They are for sure a band on my listening list!!! cheers and be well

Thanks I feel the same way about Doom metal. Sometimes it's too slow, but I don't think that they are very slow. They're more along the lines of Black Sabbath, so I enjoy this one.
