We desperately needed some additional driveway space, and this DIY paver extension was the perfect solution!
Our driveway is only just wider than two vehicles, and I realized my grass was thinning and becoming a muddy mess because we were having to walk on it while getting in and out of our vehicles. These pavers have saved the day! Not only are they super functional, I think they look beautiful and it was a great way to reuse them. Let me know what you think!
#yardmakeover #yardmaintenance #pavers #diy #beforeandafter #doityoloself #driveway #drivewaygoals
The curve gives it a little something extra. I’m sure your family appreciated all your hard work and ingenuity. It looks awesome!
Yaass! A lil’ razzle dazzle for sure!
Looks very nice, we had our done 10 yrs. Or more ago, and it’s as nice as the day it was done. We had ours extended to widen our drive also, and also gave us a walk way to the front door.
❤absolutely beautiful work😅
Baby helping. What a great home memory.❤❤❤
Lol no
Coming from a 10 year contractor, this looks every bit as good as I've seen from pros!
GREAT JOB! LOOKS AMAZING ESPECIALLY WITH THE CURVED EDGE !
Sure does.
Great job!!
She forgot landscape paper. I would have also dug a little deeper. Minimum for a driveway should be 4" base rock and 2" sand. She might also put a concrete edging to help hold the edge pavers from moving. After a year or two, she'll probably have to redo it.
@@AverillColliershe said it was a walking path for next to her driveway. I don’t think vehicles will be on it. Just people
Civil engineer here, gotta appreciate checking the level, already ahead of 99% of DIY projects
As someone who apreates a job done well felt that was a plus as well!
Brilliant I have the same issue 😂
I think you are deceitful because you are hiding the male, giving you direction on every step. Nice try though
As the son of an engineer, agreed. Most guys I see wing it or eyeball it, including the supposedly high-rated people I hired to redo our driveway a few years back or rather it needed the slightest angle so water wouldn’t pool but instead it’s got areas water pooled showing where they failed.
I think it looks great! YOU did a wonderful job 👏🏼👍🏼
I hope that you ignore the comments that are negative and say that you are untrustworthy and that you couldn't have done it. Just because they would need someone telling them what to do and how to do it they assume that most men would be the same and require that step by step instruction and in their mind there is no way that a strong, powerful, independent, resourceful female could complete the job on her own. Great job!! It is a wonderful way to reuse those bricks!
YOU SHOULD BE PROUD, it looks so good and professionally made
Your first time

I need you at my house for a paver project!🎉👏

Right. She made it look easy. Lol
Great Job...
She probably thinks you're being to aggressive with the compliment 🤷🏻♂️
GREAT JOB.
My wife saw this and now I have a project!! 🤦🏽♂️ I’m POSITIVE it won’t turn out like yours 🤣😂🤣😂
AWESOME JOB
You need to tell your wife, “I’m sorry honey, did you see HER HUSBAND out there doing that? Neither did I. Here’s the shovel.
Who am I kidding. I would rather be out there doing that than what my wife is doing anyway.
Maybe she can give you tips.😜
@@alphazuluz😂
Your wife needs to take a page out of this ladies book and not just dictate to you. I have little respect for that kind of mentality.
Yes, now I want a brick patio!!!
I think having the kid involved is the best

More green les construction for the planet, more trees less cement every where.
I think it makes them feel needed and its fun fun you and them and it teaches them a great skill or maybe get them interested in a spectacular career 🤪🤪🤪
You did a better job than most contractors would do with a hundred times more experience. Well done!!
I’m a carpenter, and this turned out better than half of the stuff I do for a living. Kudos
So what you're saying is that people might as well DIY and save money instead of hiring a professional like you because they might be able to do a better job and if not, it would be no worse then bad professional work? It's not the best business model for druming up clients but hey, your the professional 😂
@@tattedlife25 yeah that’s pretty much what I’m saying😆

@hicx8734 I understood your premise and appreciate your candor. This attitude is very humble, and it makes you a good person and an even better Professional. Your retort is to the point, and respectful.
The curved pieces show your skill. Redoing the part that wasn’t level shows your patience and attention to detail. Great job!
yes great job
Love the comments from tradies and contractors. They don’t care who does it, good work is good work and it’s respected.
I almost had the right words to post this exact comment, until I came upon yours. So imma just upvote, and freeload off your comment. 🙂

Nothing is more fulfilling than completing a difficult task on your own with pride and workmanship. Well done.
I've never completed a task, so I don't know what you mean. Maybe you should consider doing something in your community to support people. If you have a wife does she like making jam?

Landscaper of 7 years here, that looks like something a professional put together. I would definitely recommend you seal it so it doesn’t stain or discolor over time and so the sand doesn’t wash out under heavy rain.
Just power wash it. Seal looks terrible
That's because it was done professionally in the video was edited to make it look like she did it.
@@daverobbe6560So, you just make false accusations whenever it suits you?
Polymeric sand doesn't wash out in the rain. It's got a polymer additive and like 10% portland cement.
And if these papers were previously in her backyard i'm sure they're aged and already stained so the sealer bit...eh.
Is waste of time & effort and money.
@@FEARMENOT1975 I thought she put in packing sand, misheard that part. We usually do seal coats next to turf anyway so no grass/weeds come up in the cracks
So gorgeous! Looks like added value to me. Great curb appeal and functional as well

My Favourite comment of 2023-24 :-)
Do you actually believe that the woman in the video - with the perfect nails - did all that work! LMAO Some people will believe anything!
As a third-generation bricklayer, this is a damn good job
What did she use under the bricks? I think she mentioned Road base and then sand , the she put the bricks , then she used ez sand.
Is that the same sand that she used under the bricks?
I respect the hell out of anyone that can make a solid paver setup, especially a hard-working mother like yourself 😂
Huh 😂
Effing awesome
You did a real professional job. Your ol man is lucky to have you!!!
as a deep water scuba diving instructor, i want to say you did an excellent job.

Win-win-win scenario:
1. It looks amazing, you did a wonderful job.
2. You used something you already had.
3. You saved a lot of money doing the work yourself!

This is such a sweet comment! As a mom to a 21yo, I get excited when my son is proud of something I've done ❤

Wholesome comment :3
I was thinking the same thing when I saw this
My mom changed our vinyl floors & put ceramic ones on. This is in the 80s. No TH-cam, internet, etc. My dad was shocked & proud. As her daughter, I’m not just proud; I’m amazed at how she did it when I can barely replicate cooking or how to do a wing eyeliner from watching a million videos.
😂😂
I love more your willingness to do all that yourself! With kids and everything 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
She did all this with the kids by her side. 🙌✨ Women are truly amazing
Right. Single motherhood is amazing. Stop trying to promote broken families as if it is something to achieve.

@TheAlpine49 what would you have done differently to improve the edges? Just curious
@@emerconghaile4902 It needs either an off-the-shelf flexible plastic paver edge, or a concrete curb to separate and hold in place the pavers and poly sand from the lawn, and also a permeable underlayment barrier to separate the soil from the base.
Some concrete or mortar along the outside of the last line of blocks to stop them spreading if the vehicle drives on them.
The lady did a fantastic job though, Bravo 👏🏻
it is really nice to see so many nice comments for the lady, these days so many see a woman online and are just nasty for no reason. you guys rock
