  • To meet federal and state climate goals, we must change how we heat and cool buildings. This places utilities at a crossroads: They must provide reliable, affordable heat to the communities they serve and keep their workforce whole, while avoiding the risk of stranded assets in the form of new methane gas infrastructure.
A proven infrastructure alternative to heating and cooling already exists: thermal energy networks (TENs). Exciting, innovative policies in New York and beyond are propelling TENs into the limelight as one scalable solution for utilities, labor unions, environmental justice advocates, ratepayers, and more.
When it comes to large infrastructure investments, everyone has a role to play, and all voices must be represented. This exciting panel discussion, hosted by the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility (ICCR) and the Building Decarbonization Coalition, will explore the momentum behind TENs from a diverse range of stakeholders, and discuss challenges and opportunities for the future. Ample time for Q&A will allow attendees to engage directly with the experts.
