  • Water and sewage line would take years to repair. All water would drain for the line in 16 to 24 hours.

How is it we didn’t hear about all the infrastructure failures and food processing facilities burning or breaking down until the last few years? Something occasionally would happen, but now it is constantly. Fires, train wrecks etc? Strange !
    Thank you Mary! ❤️

If you look up effects solar protons/electrons (space weather) cause, you'll see they have an impact on many things, from satellites all the way down to telecommunication cables and pipelines. Also, Wigner Effect is caused by radiation, displacing the molecular structure of certain compositions, like graphite, metals, etc.

Yep lots of brick fell and glass shattered and some of the water sewer lines broke. What was really interesting to me was the effect of land fill . I was working in a building that was constructed half on bedrock and half on landfill. It became very apparent as the floor sunk . The building is still standing and is still in use today.

Weirdest part for me was the stuff on the walls survived the best. Like hanging wires acted as a gimble or something. I had a cs tower on the ground downstairs and it started chucking cds like Frisbees and they landed upstairs . Had to fly around three corners to make that happen

The main thing to remember in times of catastrophe is that every single emergency worker and first responder is going through the same crisis, shock and chaos as you are.
Please bear in mind that Emergency Workers are themselves leaving injured and traumatised family members to come and help YOU.

Right, don't take unnecessary risks, like trying to cross fast-flowing water, on foot or by vehicle!! Always some dufus that attempts it and gets carried downstream stuck in their vehicle because power windows, and doors can't open from water pressure, or they're on their rooftop, barely holding on, and others have to risk their lives to rescue these M0R0NS. ESPECIALLY don't do anything dumb with children (or pets) in the vehicle also. Rescuers may not be able to save everyone. :(

Mary… I’m a junior geologist and I was getting my degree in geology until a drunk driver hit me head on and changed my life…
I’m afraid to admit that I’m terrified of what is going to happen one day when the fault goes crazy… most people don’t understand that the land 8:26 doesn’t begin until they are 20 miles east of the Mt Hood turn off because everything is the rubble that’s on the subduction zone …
We’re outside the city and we have well water but its 500 feet no deep and we know that we could lose the well water when we have an EQ .. we made it through the spring break EQ march 25 1993 that was very strong..5.8. It Woke us up with fear and trembling… we were very concerned about our well and the auquafir being destroyed… and the water didn’t come out of the faucet so we freaking out… but it was just the dole valve pump that was damaged by the movement of the ground.and it was fixed right after that… but a neighbor lost their well and they had to get it drilled twice before they found water and they spent over $100,000 for the new well.. scary stuff

Outstanding video on what would happen to Seattle with a big earthquake! I live, slightly east of I-5, near Redding, CA, and I'm terrified of a southern subduction zone earthquake. I think that such an earthquake on our southern end would set society back for 20 years.

In Seattle we have been told that we are to shelter in place. I am on the 3rd floor. We are to store three months of water and food. We are to purchase two 5 gallon buckets. We are to designate one for poo and one for pee.
We are supposed to work together and not wait around for the government. After all, Seattle only has 31 fire departments for the entire city.
We used to be able to go to Northgate Mall and charge our phones and buy hot food. Now that it is all torn up, no one I have talked knows where we can go now.

If you’re listening to the gov. officials you are going to die. Seattle is built on a swamp. Each time that there has been an earthquake of significance all that was done was the government just filled it in even more. It literally turned into quicksand. I would strongly suggest that you do some homework on the history of Seattle earthquakes and what the ground did after they happened. I don’t know if you will be able to find anything on it at this point because they don’t want people to know what to do to save their lives. Reducing the population is more important to them and they don’t care how it’s done.

Seattle fault is one thing, if the M9 goes it sends a 5m wave through Admiralty Inlet that gets multiplied to flood a lot of Hood Canal & the Puyallup River miles upstream.
The flow through Admiralty goes on for about 2hrs. The USGS ppl argued over this stating the wave would wear itself down, if it's a flood tide no way, Paget Sound has a ton of homes at risk.
    Best tho'ts Mary, cheers 🍺

The freakiest video ever is of the water splashing out of the backyard in ground swimming pool during the strong EQ was in El Centro Calif east of San Diego and is titled:
“7.2 quake violently shakes water out of the pool Brawley CA (USA) 04/10/10”
Its a very good example of how the water moves and the water in the Seattle area is inland from the coast and is separated by the Olympic Mountains and the water comes from the San Juan Bay Area and down into the Seattle Bay Area… we love taking the Ferries from Seattle to Bremerton to get to our family vacation home on Hood Canal that is an inlet from the San Juan oceans

A large tsunami would also cause rivers and streams to overflow abruptly and cause flooding even further inland. Overflowing dams wouldn't be an issue now with so much drought, but water weight along rivers could cause further fault ruptures, since that's what rivers follow, is fault lines. Perhaps even impact magma flow and gases in volcanic chambers.

We are due another campaign to remind us about preparedness (usually every couple of years). Many of us remember the previous 2 last major earthquakes and after the event, life resumed in hours. Out lying areas from downtown Seattle, have more options, than you mentioned. Many of us live over 200 Ft above the ocean (above the estimated height of a Tsunami per disaster preparedness estimates from several years ago). My residence like many have 2 to 3 freshwater lakes within walking distance. I have 2 methods to purify the water, 5 gal. of water stored, and bug out bags. In my neighborhood, many of us have camp stoves, fireplaces barbeques , and dry wood and/or tank gas, or charcoal bricks. Oh, and Ice chests. In the valleys the water surge could go back up the rivers and flood, but even those folks, should have a plan to get to higher ground nearby. Thanks for mentioning this, as new residents need to hear this, and the rest of us need to reinventory our stock. FYI. I always buy large lots of shelf stable basics, and store at least 6 months. I use from the older stuff and put the replacements to the back. This way, I always have fresh stores. Growing up in Southeastern Idaho, there was a culture of self sufficiency. Ranches and farms could be cut off from the towns and cities all winter. Also, along the coast, there are a number of towers that have been built just in case.

Look up 'Apophis', due to arrive on April 13, 2029. This is an end-of-life event, and it's predicted to end up in the Pacific Northwest region of North America, but they're saying it could hit anywhere off the coast of the North American/South American continents. Seattle is so far looking like the epicenter of strike. And they're not warning anyone, but the companies owned by the multi-national countries, i.e., Amazon, Microsoft, et al, are already making plans to evacuate, moving their headquarters, moving their key people out of the area. You wonder why they're building bunkers? This is why. THEY already know what is coming. And for the general population that have nothing important to contribute, they're not warning. They don't even have a 'crisis plan' to go to... because they figure it's going to cause such chaos that it's going to be a literal gridlock to get people out, and to get supplies in to help them. So, they've decided to do nothing, and lets millions of people DIE! So, get out now, while you can.

06/18/2024 Hello Mary. Nature has a way to act like an old wet dog and just shake everything off and restore back to a natural scene, without people. Stupidity is not a virtue. Mary I just returned from my local pet store with a bathed and well groomed family member. While I waited for this I walked through the fish and supplies sections. I loved taking my late grandson to this store to look at all of the pretty fish and the things to put in an aquarium. Being a smart child with a great imagination he would love to climb into the medium and large dog kennels and whimper like a pet. Long story while there I noticed something. As a prepper I know how to use a 2 letter bottle and make a water purification system with rocks, sand and charcoal. I use a small size coffee filter to separate the materials. This is called a slow drip system. I carry the filter material separately in zip bags. It works well especially if you boil the finished clean water. These filter media can be washed clean for longer term use. That is a different story on how to wash the media. Some diseases simply can not be removed and must be boiled to death. We drip into metal military canteens that can be heated to a boil. The supplies can be found anywhere you can find aquarium supplies and is so easy to make. I have taught this to several people including children. Nothing is simpler or cheaper to construct. This water system is for refill but can not be used as the first primary survival water. Mary you know I do not mean to be a know it all about things ... but somebody had to go to the classes. Don
