Australia 2023 Part I (difficult shipment and robbed during transport)

After a long and complex preparation, we shipped our 6x6 Sprinter Sixfoot to Australia in May 2023. This is our 2nd shipment to Australia.
It started in October with an extensive complete cleaning of the interior. The entire underbody was then blasted with dry ice and new underbody protection was applied. The gas tank was removed and Sixfoot was given a final inspection and a new MOT.
We then wanted to ship it, but this was very difficult and it was only after 3 months that we managed to get a place on a RoRo freighter to Australia.
We arrived in Fremantle West Australia almost a week before Sixfoot. The ship was delayed.
When we picked it up, we unfortunately discovered that our motorhome had been robbed. Either in the port of Zeebrugge or in the port of Fremantle, the vehicle had been unlocked and many things had been stolen. As nothing had been broken into, the original keys that we had given to the shipping company were probably used. A computer, cutlery, lots of tools and various small items were missing. All important to us, as we had chosen our equipment carefully.
But we hurriedly procured the most important things in Australia. Finally, we visited the Lightscape Festical City of Light in Perth. This took place for the first time this year in Kings Park in Perth.

Did you have to give all the keys to the shipping company or only the key to the cockpit ? Hope you get some money back !

Hi,v yes we handed out all keys to the shipping line. This was necessary due to australian customs. On the return trip we only handed the driving key and no keys of the cabin without any problem and no robbery. (We should hide the cabin keys on the truck and then inform the customs agent about this, this would avoid robbery.)
