I was at the the Meadowlands that night. A typical Race-Flair(which is a very good thing). The entire card was good. Pro Wrestling USA was a good idea in theory to battle McScumbag but everyone wanted to be boss and get their guys over. When that happened it was doomed to failure.
This was when Flair was pretty much a tweener in terms of his in ring persona. He would wrestle as a heel in most of the NWA territories outside of Mid Atlantic and in Mid Atlantic he wrestled more as a face taking on both heels and faces. In fact, during this period he was feuding with Wahoo, who was a heel, and Tully Blanchard.
Without Question you have to respect Mr Referee Lecturing n warning Mr Race of Thee Illegal outside of the Ring n Rope Shenanigans he is committing. 😮😮😮😮
This match occurred when the New York State Athletic Commission had control of wrestling and made it mandatory for all wrestling to use the commissions referees. Thats why a ref familiar to WWF fans (Dick Kroll) is refereeing. A fee had to be paid to use a commission doctor, deputy commissioner, time keeper at the bell, licenses, and referees at the time.
Yes he did...that is referee Dick Kroll. He was a longtime referee in New York and Pennsylvania. He was indeed the referee for JYD/Valentine and the Womens Championship Match at WrestleMania I.
That ref was Dick Kroll. He worked MSG for decades when the State Athletic Commission still had jurisdiction as wrestling was considered "sport" rather than entertainment.

So was i...
Two pro legends going at it. Great old school stuff. Thanks for posting.
Race was a chain smoker and Flair was drunk 24/7. AMAZING that these guys could go this long!
長期王者を作り出そうとしたNWAの策略にハマってしまっていた「ミスター・プロレス」ハーリー・レイス選手。
I love Harley Races methodical movements.

He worked heel in All Japan. I think at this time the bounty angle took place between Flair and Harley
belive it or not flair won this bout clean a rarity for flair
Classic. These were two of the best.
harley didnt show alot of flash or pizzaz he just beat the mess out of ya
He didn't have to he let his fists and headbutt do the talking.

love harleys uppercuts he was using on flair.
Flair better show Some Color or else...Oh wait..nevermind
When wrestling was wrestling and not a tumbling exhibition.
Flair wrestled Wahoo earlier that day in Charlotte Talk about earning your money Those are two tough SOBs
意外にもハーリーレイスとジャイアント馬場はフライングヘッドシザースが上手い。
Gotta Love them there Nipponese TV Commercials
I like that handle: “ tell ‘em Hawk!”
Woooooo !!
lol wow look at those old Japanese commercials. VERY cool.
Those uppercuts from Race looked pretty stiff.
dhmig88 probably were lol
This match was a Classic!
One month before WrestleMania began!
Do you have the complete show? Great stuff!!!

🇯🇵🗾🎉
Harley handing out headbutts left and right and press slamming the nature boy. Nature boy doesn't give up that easy he fights back in return.
I never noticed how much noise harley race made 🤣🤣🤣 . Mick Foley sounds just like him pretty funny now.
Great match between 2 legends.
the last great year of ol' school pro wrestling - 1985 ...
Last great year?I don't think so...flair vs steamboat in 89....that was the last great year
I wonder if Askua was there? Or Shinska Nakamura?
Much better than the wwe crap we are stuck with today
Flair and Race's matches were all the same........
Harley was the best.
I am stoned. Wanted to watch a good match. Had to pause because of the weird japanese commercials. Dude! There should be a warning.
Wow a great match.
Did Ric Flair ever wrestle Antonio Inoki
Yes. They had their only match ever in April of 1995 in North Korea. It was a an average match at best.
Inoki won by pinfall after a kick to the head
@@travismcdonald6576 they didn't have the best nor the worst chemistry together
It was a screw job race shoulders head just hit the net and Dick Kroll had the one count on LOL
Good stuff, what year was this
1985
1983
2.25.1985. One day before Ric's 36 birthday.
Didn't that ref work WrestleMania I a few weeks later? Pretty sure he was the ref for JYD-Valentine...
