Congratulations Sam, well done, and thanks. My favourite moment is that brilliant goal in the 2012 GF that started with Alex Johnson in the defensive 50, slingshot to Reid just outside forward 50, and a big goal from downtown to put us in front for the first time in the game.

As fans we've all said things like I loved Jarrad Moore or Kieren Jack or Adam Goodes or any of multiple players who donned the Red and White. Even if we do say things like that, in truth with every new team of young men we barrack for, at the Swans you love the whole team and feel the ups and downs of every single team member. I also had many that I said I love this player or that and I can say with truth that I had a soft spot for Sammy Reid. I've called him a legend, a star and kick-arse and I stick by those statements. Every time Sam's name pops into my head there is a moving picture of Sammy booting that kick-arse goal, on the fly, outside fifty, in 2012 and I'll never forget it. Thank you Sam, you'll always be a legend amongst Swans to me and I will miss seeing your cracking marks, brilliant goals and the many and varied skills you brought with you each time you stepped onto the field. All the best Sam, you will be missed. 🦢🦢🦢🔴⚪
