    Ben and Isaac, you guys are blessed to learn from Greg. I’m the same age you cowboys are, and there ain’t anyone close to me who does things like Mr Judy. Much less willing (or able) to offer the knowledge that you guys are gaining. Count your blessings men!

      Aren't many folks like Greg. Ya can probably still find a farmer to learn plenty from. When they say there's no money in farming take it with a grain of salt. I find folks who say that have spent plenty on machines.

    The 3 y/o bull is beautiful! I noticed him in a previous video and thought.. I want that bull!. Him walking along can almost hear him singing.. I'm too sexy for my hide... 😁
    Hope he produces some nice calves for you.

    I believe that is a wafer ash Tree 9:27 . The small bush in question is the Wafer Ash or Hop Tree (Ptelea trifoliata), the principle host to the giant swallowtail butterfly.

    I was hoping for a complete paddock - because I had another theory why they go right through and then turn back to chomp and stomp. The theory was that they are always hoping there are no more fences and they can escape! The dream continues with each move.

      We need more turkeys then. I’ve seen a few, but not many. I’ve definitely found enough ticks for them. I’ve seen more rabbits lately, so maybe our pastures are seeing better diversity now. 🙏🏼

    Greg, I need a genius like you to figure out how I can easily move poultry twice a day over pasture like you do your ruminants XD You're right, that electric netting -- although pretty cool and easy in one sense like they say -- is just not feasible for quick/often moves.

    • @karinlindquist2192
      @karinlindquist2192 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you sell your cattle for beef or just breeding stock.? I've never seen a video of you loading then for sale barn.
    After feeding on grass their entire life, do they need a couple months finishing on corn for a nice marbled fatty meat ?

    You have a 17 year old cow called grandma, but why don't you have bulls older than 2 years (or the one 3 year old) normally?

    • @andreafalconiero9089
      @andreafalconiero9089 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A cow is of use as long as it keeps making and feeding calves. Bulls are only productive as a source of meat, and their growth rate and fertility declines once they're mature, so why keep them? All that would do is increase feed costs for no benefit. Especially since there are always far more bulls than are needed to service the cows. All of these animals eventually get sold as breeding stock, or are castrated and sold for meat as steers. I think Greg castrates the inferior yearling bulls at about 12 months and then puts them into the cow/calf herd, while the rest probably get sold in their 2nd year.

      There is always a new crop of young bulls coming up to replace the older bulls. Sell the older bulls while they are in their prime!!! Its called marketing sunlight harvested by green blades of grass.
