I couldn’t be more impressed with you two! Do you ever find time to eat or sleep? You do sooooo much! I am exhausted just imagining your lives! It’s great that you love it so much. 😀👍
I watched lots of TH-cam videos before I started selling on Ebay and decided to do an individual SKU system from the get go. Best decision. Secondary is numbered totes/boxes.
Thanks for this video. I've always wanted to have an outbuilding to store things and to have a workshop, but if I had more space for inventory then that could be dangerous (I'd buy too much stuff). While I have quite a bit of space already, there IS a limit and that helps me put a limit on sourcing. If I depended on reselling income, instead of it just being a hobby, then a space like yours would be crucial. It's a great space and it's great that you have dedicated areas for processing (profit pile), shipping, photography, inventory, etc. Great work!
Thanks so much! Great idea to use cheap Walmart boxes! Maybe cut a small vertical hole in front of them so Rebel can see in there and possibly grab the item?
Thank you i watched your first video of you showing this system a few weeks ago so i love seeing this one and how you have everything in it's place i just got some big totes from a storage auction my son won i only have around 300 items listed if that just started less than a year i believe so im going to definitely start a number system that i can understand because i have lots of items to sell just have to get them listed but i had a lumbar fusion done in 2010 so always in pain just try to get things done best i can thank ya'll again for everything i just love ya'lls videos 😊
I went to Charleston last week and left it to my husband to ship whatever sold. Well when I got back the buyer messaged me saying she got the wrong color Eagle 🤦🏼♀️! Now I’ve had to ship her the new one at my expense and I let her keep the other one..sigh . I’m out 80$ . Thanks Honey 🥴 he tried 🤷♀️
That's exactly why I like have an inventory number on each item. I can compare that number to what I'm supposed to be shipping to make sure it's the right item. -Robert
Thank you. You work well together. The boxes (for clothing) seem so space efficient as they are straight vs the laundry baskets that are angled. Have you ever thought about switching toys to cardboard so that you don’t loose that space in the middle? I like your use of short shelves for mugs. Dishware is a problem for me.
I am working on an inventory system before I get too big. I have to say I have a mug that matches your Good Life shirt listed on eBay! Lol That just registered with me! Purple, too!
Thank you. There is a Method to all our madness. Nice setup. Believe this is a storage unit and not in your home. At least you have one area. Gosh, 11,000 items, my Grandma and Auntie are trying to manage 500 items (majority items from both their homes over 80 years)
I swear we are kindred spirits! We have a lot of the same stuff listed, the same category bins (Kohls, characters, lovies, bears). I hope one day to have time to go through and inventory everything and assign a SKU to each. We moved and I lost a basement, so storage is limited. I envy your space. I'm in the garage and a small storage room and HOA allows NO outbuildings :(
Also I was wondering if when explaining your sales can you tell us your actual profit from the sale I might ask this more then once for friendly reminders that I would love to know your profit from each sale instead of knowing how much you sold it for thank you ❤❤❤love from Vancouver island 🇨🇦
Feeling inspired now to get a system set up now, before I get any bigger. I'm curious if you ever think about downsizing your inventory to only include higher sell through rate items? It seems to be the way many sellers are doing things, sourcing fewer items but only those that bring more money and sell more quickly.
This week we sold a pair of sneakers for over $200. I would love to find that kind of inventory all the time, or items that sell very quickly, but we don't. eBay is our primary source of income so we have to make enough money to pay the bills and that means we need to source items that sell for less money or take longer to sell.
If you do it as 0224, 0324, etc this year, and then 0225, 0325, etc next year, when sorting by the date, all of your February listings will be together, regardless of the year. -Robert
Great video! I wish my building was half as organized. QUESTION Could you mention how TH-cam commercials Ads work? I do try to watch some of yours, to give y'all some support. Do you get credit for the ones before and after your video? If I pause the video and start it five minutes later ads start again. If I rewind more ads. Do you get paid for that? (Sorry, I over explain things) Thanks!
From what I've read, if viewers hit the "Skip" button on the ads then creators do not get paid as much as if viewers watch the entire ad (or at least some portion of the ad that I can't remember off the top of my head). I let ads play through for my favorite creators.

Thank you! I think the first video I watched was your inventory. Now I’d like to know where you get your bags? Do you have a link for what you purchase and/or an affiliate so we can support you?
Oh no! Put in the custom sku where you put the items, e.g., hall closet, bedroom tote, etc. Once you get larger, you could get more technical with the number system.
Question: Not sure that it was ever mentioned. How many hours a day do you spend on listing items? I was thinking about trying a full 8 hr. work day and see what I can accomplish as far as listing. Yes agree, organization is key like you posted here.
I read recently that when you work for others, you work 9 to 5. When you work for yourself, it is 5 to 9, lol. Most days, probably 8 hours or more. I'm going to make a "day in the life" video soon.
The Munbyn was very easy to set up. I had to set it up again this morning on our new computer that just arrived. I plugged in the printer, connected it to the computer, turned it on, and ran the driver installer that is on the USB flash drive that comes with the printer. That was all it took to set up. This computer has Windows 11, but the install was exactly the same on the 12 year old computer that had Windows 10 on it. -Robert
When we bought our house, we had a detached garage/workshop built that's 30x50 ft. It's turned into mostly inventory storage right now. We also use a good bit of our basement for our business.
www.youtube.com/@notyourdadscpa is a good channel to follow for accounting advice for resellers. He's an actual tax professional. There is a facebook group called Accounting for online sellers that would be good to join. I'll link it below. The very short version is to start with your 1099 from eBay and other selling platforms if you received any. From that, you will subtract selling/listing/promoting fees, shipping, cost of goods sold, mileage, shipping supplies, etc. That will give you your business income. If you use Turbo Tax, they ask questions that guide you though filling out the necessary information. You will want to claim every legal deduction that you can to reduce how much you are required to pay in taxes. I am not an attorney, accountant, or any sort of tax professional. Check with those two resource I linked to, and they will get you off to a good start. And start doing the work for next year's taxes now so it will be easier then. -Robert facebook.com/groups/accountingforsellers
We just started putting a date code in the SKU last year. SInce I do end and sell similar every month, there is no way to track the oder listings. There are definitely some that have been listed for YEARS!
Inventory only matters in relation to sales. If you have 11k items in inventory and only sell 1 a day, then that's a problem. But Rebel sells quite a bit more than 1 a day and seems to have a sell-through-rate at least 50%, which is more than ok.
