Shameful lawyer seeking a money grab. Most of those these class action suits the person bringing the suit gets paid, when I lived in California it was 50k. Everyone else who opts in gets a very small check. The rest goes to the attorneys.

The schools get it but the problem is that the money originally located for schools in the budget pre lottery has been reduced proportionately to the money the lottery contributes. It’s 100% a scam.
We need to audit our entire Govt, every single dept. how can schools need with this kind of $ + our taxes flowing in? We get ripped off at every single corner
I believe the man with the lost lottery ticket is telling the truth because his lawyer can force the Gaming Commission to show the EXACT TIME and VIDEO of where the ticket was sold. Case CLOSED!!!
The chances there's video is very slim. I say this knowing first hand how security footage is stored for extended periods of time at gas stations. It's not saved. And California lottery, nor any other state lottery has security cameras in any single place lotto is sold.
@@jonnyd1646 The lottery knows the night of the drawing what store sold the winning ticket...they know the time and pace. If you sell lottery tickets at your store and someone wins the lottery at your store they will call you and get the video. The lottery knows who bought the ticket. The lottery gets the security footage the next morning/day. They do not wait 6 months to get the security footage. I hope this helps.
You are right, they can look at time the tickets were purchased, and especially if they were bought at same time and pretty much back up his claim. Video is he screwed, most small stores record over stuff every week. I hope the guy gets it.
If you buy 99 of the same lottery ticket and your numbers won, any other person who wins is only getting 1% and you get 99% so there is a point to getting multiple of the same numbers. In the man's case if he won on 2 tickets and there was a 3rd winning ticket, he gets 2/3 of the prize.
For Wicked....One, There is a page that asks if you are 18 or older and you are about to enter a adult website. Two, the website has no nudity on the front page once you enter, it doesn't show anything unless you dig further into the website by choosing links on the page. Thus, there is no reason for the lawsuit, since it doesn't show anything and really, if you dig further in the page with a kid, then you are the problem...not the mis-url link on the box.
first 5 min doll story was alright, but the fact they use the left over money for school really puzzles me. They must use it for salary and general building expense. I don't remember seeing free laptops and other luxury given to rich students. Just maybe a cheap meal.
There is history of fraud in the lottery. I would follow the money and see if it was an inside job; since it might be the reason that he waited this long, hoping that the video store footage would have been erased.
Your legal expert sounds as though she's thrown back a few prior to your interview. How do you buy two tickets with the same numbers? I did once, and didn't realize until I'd left the store. The stupid clerk ran one of my papers through twice, and missed the last one, from being in a hurry.
Lotto machines won’t sell if the cameras aren’t working, per a local clerk, so I’ve always assumed they were for facial recognition. Gotta keep those “terrorist” from winning.
I have already been trying and they are hard to find 😪 they definitely will and are a collectors item! Until someone at the factory floods ebay.... let's go collectors crypto 👏
I once asked a clerk to run a ticket for five drawings. He was going to run it thru five times not put it in as the next 5 drawings in a row. I can see the clerk taking the same ticket and not doing it for next two drawings but both for the next drawing. My question would be, check the purchase records. My tickets have date and time down to the seconds on them. If the lottery system shows both tickets purchased within a second of each other - likely the clerk screwed up. If minutes or hours apart - I would question it.
There is no such thing as why people do things that make no sense to many but, it makes very good sense to the people that play or gamble the way they want or do. Now if they hit or win the prize they are considered by many geniuses but when they don't nobody will even question anything or simply don't care. I got to see this lady in a casino that played KENO. But 4 card KENO and she put the same 10 numbers on each card and I in my mind was going to tell her what's the sense of filling 4 cards when you could do all those numbers in one card. But I decided to say nothing and mind my business. And just laughed in my mind and said whatever. When she was done putting the same numbers on the 4 cards she pushed the max button accidentally and she hit all her 10 numbers and got paid for all 4 cards with the same numbers. Some things in life are unexplainable and crazy that make no sense and it truly is crazy.
The guy bought the same ticket, he just lost it. He should ask for the cctv. Many people do this, buy multiple tickets with the same number, same location, few days apart.
they are not giving him the correct amount he shouldve gotten 790mil and he only got 95mil before taxes they ripped him off and how many times have they done this to and no one has caught this they owe him 700million
Where did you get the 700 million from. The jackpot was only 395 million. He was only able to show proof with one ticket, then that’s what he shall get. Want the whole jackpot, then present the other ticket. That’s the rule. You don’t want someone coming up claiming your winnings just cause they said so do you.
he won half on the one ticket negate there was a second ticket issued with the same numbers so he would get half which, as she said was 194 million dollars. Of which he received 94 million, I am assuming was AFTER tax, not before as she stated. She had to be wrong as that makes no sense.
The winnings amount advertised - in this case, $194M - is based upon a payout over 30 years to make up that amount. The Lottery does this by investing a seed amount of money and using the proceeds to pay off that amount over the 30 year period. If one chooses the immediate cash prize, they receive the amount of seed money that would have been used to create the larger amount over time. This means that the $194M that he would have gotten aggregated over 30 years is reduced to the seed money of $94M. Since California does not tax lottery winnings, only the 24% federal tax would be deducted from that $94M, leaving about $71.44M. This is why I always opt for the 30 year payouts - I can budget.
So the lottery does a full investigation for a large claim. If he claims to have bought both tickets, the lottery will know to second what day and time it was purchased. Can't they just review the tapes?
*Regarding the Wicked lawsuit:* My theory is that someone was designing the packaging and was told to put a placeholder in that spot. The chosen placeholder matched the product name, and nobody ever got back to correcting the actual website on the packaging. When I first heard about this story, I wanted to see if it was true, so I put that website into my browser and confirmed it was true. Here's the thing: As of the moment of that visit, it was a landing page where they asked people to sign up and make a payment. The images on that page were not particularly explicit, unless you are applying old-school standards where too much leg or a midriff was considered unseemly. _(Websites can and do change all the time. With the publicity this got, that page has likely been changed multiple times since them. Accordingly, your mileage may vary.)_
So by that criminal attorney's calculations, she thinks it is more likely that two DIFFERENT people chose the SAME winning numbers at the SAME store rather than one guy picking the same numbers on two tickets. Boy, isn't she special, and she said he got 94 million BEFORE taxes. Sharp as a marble there. 😂
I totally agree that the lawyer didn't understand the lottery or statistics that well. People regularly buy multiple lotto tickets for same lottery using same number. They do it specifically so that they get more of the prize should someone else use the same number. The chances of two people using the same winning number at the same gas station is astronomical compared to it being the same person buying two tickets. The reason the lawyer said that the person would receive 94 million before taxes is likely due to the person opting to receive a lump sum payout rather than the full amount over 30 years. After taxes, that person will probably receive between 40-70 million.
Time and address the tickets was purchased is on the bank statement. And the time and place the ticket was sold is on the store bank statement and lottery machine. As well as stored video footage.
For those who are confused about how $194M becomes only $94M: The winnings amount advertised - in this case, $194M - is based upon a payout over 30 years to make up that amount. I lose winning tickets in washing machines all the time. I forget to remove the tickets from my pockets. At least I know Im a winner, and the world belongs to me.
It wouldn't be that uncommon for people to play the same numbers ie.. birthdays, anniversaries, lucky numerology. Or sometimes presenting the same bubbled in slip you continuously present each week when buying lotto tickets. Yeah... I've sometimes forgotten I've already bought my tickets for that week, and buy repeats. Probably at the same store again. If you look at statistics of people double dosing on medication. Because they forgot they took it earlier is very common. But it's just that person needs to present that second lotto ticket. To be validated as the second winner.
I have bought multiple of the same tickets due to miss placing a ticket or forgetting I played already. I only play at the same store for the last 10 years
Here’s the thing… the chances of two people playing the same numbers at the same store are EXTREMELY low but it isn’t zero. My first guess is that he did buy two tickets BUT what makes me think he didn’t is that he didn’t mention or try to claim the ticket until 3 days before it expired. When the news originally said that both tickets were purchased at the same store, if nobody had claimed the ticket for such a long time, he probably took a chance at 3 days before expiration that nobody WOULD claim the ticket. At that point what’s there to lose by saying he bought both but lost one. He might just double his winnings.
Story #1 - Oh come on, damaged by seeing that. I call BS. Just an opportunity to fill a lawsuit. If the child did it on their own, yes, she may have a case but the mother was the one going to the website. Story #2 - Yeah, $46 Billion to the school system and they suck. Number 46 out of 50 (something like that, they are not at the top). Yeah, money is well spent.
The reason someone might have bought two tickets with the same numbers is because they have a form with some tickets with hand-picked numbers and some quick picks. So the two tickets would have a repeat of the hand picked numbers and if those won then you have two of the same sets of numbers.
It's probably not him. Sometimes I pick up a filled out discarded ticket from the trash bin and purchase the same ticket. In this case, I think that's what happened. Someone just didn't want to fill out the numbers and grab a already filled out one and purchased the same numbers. All they had to do is check the time of purchases for both tickets and check the security cameras for those times.
Can't tell me this wasn't deliberate. I would never take a kid to see a movie about "witches" called "wicked" in the first place. Just shows how rotten this country has become
When Mattel found out about the mistake on the Wicked doll packages they admitted it and corrected it so no lawsuit should be done. It should be thrown out.
There is nothing about wicked website that would warrant a lawsuit, without being a paid membership, you aren’t seeing anything that you wouldn’t see on a PG movie.
Yep another misprint 🤣 to say that is ironic given the subject matter is an understatment lol but i bet the person who has the responsibility of doing the in show graphic banners that pop up aint gonna get fired! 🤣😛😉
Since the lawyer seemingly bothered to find out the odds of winning the lottery, she should have gone one more step and found out the odds of two different people choosing the same winning numbers at the same store for the same lottery on different days. The odds would be astronomical (several times more than just winning) if it wasn't the same guy. I only play the lottery very occasionally and have, more than once, purchased a lottery ticket, then forgotten if I purchased it within the last 2 days for the next draw, or did I purchase it 3 days ago for the last draw and just didn't remember to check it yet, so I purchase another one. I don't think that's unusual, especially for casual players like me that pick up a ticket only when it's "convenient" and especially for someone who plays the same numbers every time. Purchasing multiple tickets with the same numbers is not unusual either. More tickets with the same winning numbers equal a larger cut of the jackpot. Lawyer doesn't seem to know much about the lottery and how distribution of the funds works but is still willing to state multiple ill-informed opinions.
I pick Birthdays and I use the same on both Super and Mega. What's wrong with that? They're the same. So if I win both the Super and Mega [at the same time], I legally and rightfully win.
As for the "two same numbers tickets" is far from a head scratcher....if it's in fact the same person, no hurt, no foul in the outcome either way...simply it would be to surprisingly share the other ticket to another family member or very close friend...DUH!
What a greedy person. He already got half the win!!! Omy…what a waste of precious time. Put your money in the bank and you can live SO WELL off interest. Go travel, go live. Goodness…
It’s the principle and the true value of the lottery. They promote luck. How lucky are you? They want you to play but when you win and it looks like something they don’t agree with it becomes an issue. But the winner won twice and should be paid twice. It’s the principle and the lottery pushes this narrative of “How lucky are you and to try your luck” so pay this man his money. I want all of my winnings not half. And that don’t make me greedy, it makes the lottery looks greedy too for trying to keep money that this person won.
You have to have the lottery ticket to present. It tells you that on the back of the ticket. You also must sign it. If he lost the ticket then that's on him. Luckily for him he purchased more than one so he did get some money. But no ticket no money that is how it just is. the cameras can you show whatever but it's not enough. Period
My son was ripped off he won the mega million multiplier was paid only $30,000 and the jackpot was for I believe a billion he got ripped off my opinion only two people in Texas won the multiplier. Band Texas takes 8000 off of 30,000 and he was left with 22 thousand. When you have the Powerball and billion dollars for number they should have got a million in my opinion. It's always a foreigner who's winning isn't that something.
Ill break fown the logic. Guy plays the same numbers for years. He yhinks that if other people also play those numbers and thry all win hell get a bigger percentage of the breakdown because he has multiple tickets... say 4 people buy jackpot tickets but 1 guy buys 2 with the same numbers... each ticket is worth 20% so the guy with 2 tickets gets 40% of the winnings because he had 2 tickets and not just 1. Stop saying its a head scratcher.... its not rocket science... where did you get your degree from?
It don’t make sense to me because let’s just say he had just bought one ticket and he was the only winner…. He would have won the whole jackpot. So why buy two tickets.
But if it was a different person from that store with the same winning numbers would they have gotten the prize? What’s the difference between one person being lucky enough to buy two winning tickets from the same store vs the same store selling two tickets with the exact same numbers but two different winners? A win is a win and if the lottery always promote LUCK and try your LUCK and all this luck talk. It seems as though this player was lucky enough to win two tickets with the same numbers. And I’m sure he didn’t know he would win let alone winning two times from the same numbers, from the same store. It’s unfair for the lottery to now be like oh you can’t collect because it’s the same number and you’re the same person. It’s ridiculous. He won twice. Pay him twice as if he was a different winner. It’s really a ripoff if they don’t want to up the money. I pray he wins his winnings. He was a lucky player the day he purchased those tickets.
It should be noted that the Wicked adult site was around for a long time. It's not someone attempting to get attention because of the movie. So they did nothing wrong. I looked at the website and it shows no images at all until after you agree that you're over 18. In fact, even after you say you're 18 there's STILL no nudity or anything else beyond what a PG movie would show.

This is stupid, if you don't have the ticket (you lost it or whatever excuse you give) then you can't claim the prize, plain & simple.
well, the naked truth is: those dolls' packaging will become highly collectible!
00:55 YOU HAVE A MISPRINT….. Wicket????
How many little girls got online to that website without a parent to quickly shield them so yeah damages but how much
I went to the website to see if it was really a porn site. And I didn't watch anything but I was like oh that is a porn site. LOL
Wicket not Wicked..oops!
Yep another misprint 🤣 to say that is ironic given the subject matter is an understatment lol but i bet the person who has the responsibility of doing the in show graphic banners that pop up aint gonna get fired! 🤣😛😉
Whip it!
You can see more skin in a Victoria Secret catalog than you do on that site.
This guy obviously ran the same ticket twice.
What if you claim it. But they say you didn’t claim it. Because they don’t want to pay.. or the lottery takes your ticket and says they never got it .
How could they have been distressed when they had already removed parental controls.
It's not that weird. Maybe not typical. But also not weird. I've purchased same numbers on same draw before.
I pick Birthdays and I use the same on both Super and Mega. What's wrong with that? They're the same. So if I win both the Super and Mega [at the same time], I legally and rightfully win.
If he wrote in the same numbers by accident then he might have thrown that second ticket away. His loss either way.
If that other ticket doesn't show up, then the one that did should get the whole jackpot
of course there will be a lawsuit.. it's America... doesn't matter if it hurt anyone or not.
As for the "two same numbers tickets" is far from a head scratcher....if it's in fact the same person, no hurt, no foul in the outcome either way...simply it would be to surprisingly share the other ticket to another family member or very close friend...DUH!
Greedy he won 190 mil ...94 mil after taxes.. go away dood
interesting take
Dude.
thankyou the gift of silence
No ticket, no money. Just like with scratch cards.
The title bar in the bottom is misspelled as wicket instead of wicked 😂. Don’t get sued JK😊. From 0.00 to 1:26 you can see before it gets replaced 🤣.
The Mattel lawsuit is a money grab so ridiculous
Period
Who is the dude in red yall are talking to?
LOL, learn to spell Wicked, "Mattel sued over Wicket Dolls Misprint"
I want to join in
I have done this many many times
My son was ripped off he won the mega million multiplier was paid only $30,000 and the jackpot was for I believe a billion he got ripped off my opinion only two people in Texas won the multiplier. Band Texas takes 8000 off of 30,000 and he was left with 22 thousand. When you have the Powerball and billion dollars for number they should have got a million in my opinion. It's always a foreigner who's winning isn't that something.
No ticky,no washy!
Now those defecrive dolls are collector items at $1000 each. (😅 Just joking...but time will tell).
It don’t make sense to me because let’s just say he had just bought one ticket and he was the only winner…. He would have won the whole jackpot. So why buy two tickets.
If another person also bought a winning ticket, the guy with 2 tickets would be able to claim 67% of the total instead of just 50%.
I’ll be back
Sorry he is SOL
No not strange I've done it thinking it might help to win.. never won.. only do it twice a year.
Blame Hugh Janus!
Bunch of crooks
I have one
It should be noted that the Wicked adult site was around for a long time. It's not someone attempting to get attention because of the movie. So they did nothing wrong. I looked at the website and it shows no images at all until after you agree that you're over 18. In fact, even after you say you're 18 there's STILL no nudity or anything else beyond what a PG movie would show.
