All I want is for them to make sure the effects are more reliable and more importantly GET BOATS WITH BETTER DRAINAGE. I really hope they don't water the ride down and make it just another generic dark ride. I am sure they will add lapbars but I really hope they don't. I love the feeling of flying out of my seat with no restraints lol.
The current boats are the ride's second set in 20 years, they just need better drainage, but again this is something to consider when running water effects - How much can the boats handle before they start to fill.
They won't add restraints or lap bars; they aren't allowed to. Simply because if a boat was to flood, sink or flip over they need people to get out asap so they don't drown from being trapped in restraints

I remember when I was in Secondary going to Blackpool for a school holiday and went on Valhalla by accident, thinking it was more of a cool light show- straight tunnel design than a massive dark flume. Although my heart dropped once I turned the first corner and saw the massive lift hill, I ended up loving it and was so chuffed that I had faced my fears. I'm going back in September with a friend and can't wait, shame Valhalla will be closed!
they made me sit directly behind the person in front but I wanted to sit in the middle of the boat as the boat was lob siding to one side ... making me sit right at the side made it worse as the weight was all to one side so the top of the boat was just inches above the water level ... everytime the boat bobbed about - the water poured in over the side of the boat and I got soaked from my waste down through the entire ride I had visions of the whole boat filling up with water and going under,.
I hope a new boat will have a larger space to store water under the floor, raise up the floor and the seats a little bit more. Still then you have to raise the sides and question if boat designed like this could safely traverse the channel.
There are a few things that have annoyed me during my last ride of Valhalla- • The animatronic for the dogs in the first part did not move •the ice room no longer has any snow and lacks its scenery and also the entrance into room needs more • The forest room hammers lacked consistency failing to come down and hit the flume • ring of fire consistently not working • there is a skeleton at the end scene that makes me want to throw it in the fire as it’s a Halloween decoration that doesn’t fit with the ride • ride stoppage can be an issue at times, although I haven’t experienced something like this it makes the ride scary as you think you might be stuck on one of the lift hills
To be fair mate you would rather be stuck on one of the lift hills as there’s an easy evacuation. If your stuck in an awkward place where there’s not an easy way to get onto a walk way it’s a lot worse.
I remember the fire effect on the drop. It was one of my favourite parts of the ride. You chatting about the ride has brought back sooo many memories. I hope the improvements don’t change it too much.
I love that effect also. I remember taking my boyfriend a few years ago to Blackpool and had told him all about this ride and telling him all about this amazing effect on the drop. When the ring of fire didnt go off, I was in a right hump when I got off 😂

Ceiling fire effect like on Revenge of the Mummy in Orlando before backwards drop to reduce the gas bill. Nitrogen fogger as jump scare/chilling effect to replace the freezing cold room. Some hot steam/lighting effect imitating fire at the end of the ride. That's what I'm hoping for. But I fear it will be a lot of projection mapping. Manufacturers of projectors are aggressively pushing 3D mapping technology to create a new market for their flagship pro tools, as there will be a steady decline of demand with a lot of multiplex cinemas not surviving the streaming era in combination with c19.
I rode Valhalla in the October of the year it , absolutely fantastic but over the years as been mentioned, effects have disappeared or become unreliable, there use to be a huge plasma ball emitting real electric power ( amazing scene ) , as for that fire effect it's always worked for me so I must of been lucky... Feel the burn !!....... Roll on 2021 👍
I am so so SO excited to see what they do with Valhalla, this season is going to be so tense in waiting for 2021 to get back in and see it all again! I absolutely adore everything about Valhalla, even though I don't think I've ever actually ridden with everything working as it was in the early days, however hope it stays the same for the most part, with just upgrades as you say to the methods and tech used on the effects and safety additions inside. Excited to follow updates on TPW as always!
The fountains need to be sorted. The fact that sometimes you can find it very hard to breathe in there is a real issue. You also touched upon some things which are just as big as an issue, the evacuation process. Also, I really do enjoy these types of videos, you should do more!

In regards to the projection stuff I would like to see something similar to wickerman! It always looks amazing at the preshow and I think that style would fit Valhalla well!
Great video! As someone who lives in the US, I discovered Valhalla a few months ago in theme park related facebook group I'm in. There's so many great effects in this ride. The first time I saw the flaming arrow effect I was blown away. It's such a small thing, but it just looks so cool! I'm excited to see what updates are made once it reopens.
This ride has been and always will be the best water ride anywhere. The soundtrack, the theme, the effects, everthing is visually stunning. I will admit the effects can be very unreliable and that goes for the ride too but its going to be considering the amount of money that it costs to run and update it. For people complaining about how soaked you get, well it's a water ride for starters what were you expecting and the fact that it warns you that you'll get drenched. The only complaint I can understand about this ride is that before it even starts the boats are filled with quite a bit of water which causes your feet to become soggy and wet all the way through. Upon saying that the boats constantly move and so there isn't really any time to drain the water out. They try there best but you got to give them credit for managing that ride when its heaving in summer It's also the most expensive water ride at around £15 million (I think) and so you got to think about the cost for the water bills and so on...
This ride needs a bag rack! It’s one of the only rides that doesn’t let you leave your bags and it’s the main one that needs one, really hope they add one this time

I remember when I first rode the ride and I went down the drop with the fire effect (which was working!), it made it look like the end of the drop and so expected to get impact from it. But as we took the drop and went through it I felt like the drop was going into the unknown. It was such a weird feeling, but also soo cool!!
I hope we don't have to wait too long for another new big ride. I know their limited by space...but a boy can dream! (Still haven't done ICON yet either 😞)
I kind of wish I saw the older versions of this ride, there seems to be so much history! But hopefully I will have a new and improved version to experience when I finally make it to Blackpool for the first time. Even though I won't really have anything to compare it to 🙈
Some of the boats are missing the foot boards so your feet have to sit in 6 inches of water, I don't mind getting wet but wet feet can be annoying. If you try lifting your feet up to avoid getting wet they tell you off over the speakers. Also the staff try to avoid using the vac to suck water out of bottom of boats so as to have an easier shift.
I remember riding this the year it opened going onto the ride thinking "it will just wet us a little, cant be worse than the log flume" lol Its a great ride for sure i just want to see the wetness reduced. Just sort the boats and get rid of that water tunnel and get the other effects working again and i will be happy. Other things that are not essential would be if they can get rid of the backwards drop section? Its not needed and i bet it slows down the throughput. Also a separate unloading station/area? The ice room would be probably cheaper if they used giant blowing cool fans that hit the boat rather than cool the whole room
It’s pleasure beach so we’re unlikely to see them dumb it down. They know (and are probably very proud of the fact) that it sits on a throne as best water ride in its current state. Thing is since half of the experience is effects, technology has moved on so much in 20 years that they had to make major changes to keep it current. Obviously they’ll fix issues etc too
Valhalla steam room is fairly easy to change the “steam” should be changed to a fog machine or projector that really good while the heat could be what Disney used on test track which was very hot, the tunnel likely will be projected to save money, the ice room should be similar to a freezer system like what sea world uses for their cold rides while nearly clear acrylic could be used to set a scene combined with projection of maybe a battle of the gods (Norse afterlife was believed to be never ending war where people could fight to their hearts content forever), and the boats probably are probably going out for newer ones. That whirlpool water effect is exactly the same from universal studios mythos except they didn’t turn this one off, it’s a very expensive effect because of the huge amount of water running over your head, universal managed to make the expense easier on them by constantly recycling the water used basically making their expense nothing but with projection tech it’s likely going to now projected. The voice thing is should be like big thunder mountain but that laser placement is weird instead maybe a scene of modern Norwegian gods or something it could tie it together maybe a projection of Odin speaking.
I would love for this to stay as a soaker. Be it by accident or not i think it adds to the ride and sets it apart from the rest.There are far too many water rides where you don't get we/or very little,look at how the rapids at Alton Towers are now pants because you don't get wet,it is boring as hell,you are more likely to get wet on the in the night garden ride lol. Let's be honest nobody comes off a water ride laughing at how dry they stayed,but you will find loads of people finding it funny when they are dripping wet.
Exactly. I can remember coming off the Popeye and Bluto Bilge Rat Barges water ride at Islands of Adventure in Florida... absolutely soaked coming off as was everybody else and this is how it should be on a water ride.
I hope so too. Valhalla is my favourite ride but them drops are steep and I'm always hanging on for dear life with my brain saying 'if your bum comes off that seat one more inch, you're falling out 😂'.
they don't add lap bar restraints on water rides due to risks of flooding, sinking or capsizing which would mean you couldn't be evacuated quickly; a potential drowning hazard
Hands down the best dark ride I’ve been on but the effects are so unreliable. Fair play to BPB for sorting this out. I would like more to be made of the view and backwards drop. A themed shutter could come down to make it pitch black, some thunder / lightning effects and then the backwards drop.
I think the ice room should have a projection of Vikings setting up camp on a frozen lake, and audio to go with it but as you get closer to the drop a ice cracking sound effect should start and obviously the drop would be you falling threw the ice, I think that would be good and restraints would probably be good on there just for extra safety, 1 thing they should add is a place bags like storm force 10 has, that way you won't have all wet belongings

I remember going on it on the first year it opened and on the first drop you seemed to plunge into a misty fogs with bits of sparkle / shimmer in it .... I found that a bit unnerving as it was like dropping into an abyss... but years later I never noticed that effect ??? Did I imagine something?
With Valhalla being made by intamin, What if they took out the turntable and replaced it with a virtical drop section like thirteen and Hagrid's motorbike adventure both have? Imagine the wind effect then dropping straight down? That'd be exciting and also scary if you'd never experienced a virtical drop track before.

It's great to see the park looking after Valhalla, it really does need a big overhaul like what they are doing now. I once had a ride on it where only half the effects were working back in 2018, so hopefully, that will all be fixed up. I think it's likely we will be getting new boats as well, as pleasure beach is selling the boats on their websites as some memorabilia. Will be interesting to see what actually happens, and keep up the good work with your videos. You inspired my love of coasters and my start in this enthusiast community, and I love these new improvements you're doing to your channel. Keep it up! :)
Just to put it in perspective - £15m back in 1999-2000 is approximately £27m in today's money. Can you imagine any UK park spending that much on a ride now? Merlin still only spending £15m on a coaster which usually includes the marketing budget as well.
I agree with a lot of the comments, the ride just got people to wet, have been on it numerous times and missed some of the effects because I have been dripping with water. I used to joke it would be simpler and quicker to stand outside the ride and let an attendant throw a bucket of water over you. If they want to change it for the better they need to reduce how wet people get,
The main thing I would love is for them to have a place to keep your coats/bags/phones etc like they have on the big rides. I love valhalla but usually i’m worrying about my phone getting soaked or my bag/coat flying out etc
I got a free return trip to blackpool because why riding Valhalla a small child was in the back of my boat on his own and he was terrified, he tried to jump out of the boat about half way around at the point where they turn the boat for the backwards drop, I dread to think had he got caught up in the mechanism under the water, I had to convince him not to jump as he was standing in the edge of the boat, once I convinced him to sit back down I then quickly had to make my way to the back seat to make sure he never tried it again, luckily by this time they had noticed what took place and stopped the ride.
Hated rides back in 2013 and visited BPB in 2018 and not been since 2013(my first time) I rode it for first time Sep 2018 fell in love with it. Went back June 2019 Loved it even more ! Can’t wait to 2021
I think it’s great that Pleasure beach are refurbishing Valhalla possibilities are endless. I would like to see two different sound tracks so you could here the main theme When you sitting in boats but as you go in they could even have audio cues for the drops

The last few years have been awesome seeing the first reactions by some of my friends on this, best moment was my bestie when the 2 hammers come down 😂 had a proper scream and ducked 🤣 A bonus though, when it reopens my little one should be big enough to ride, shes going to love it!
im thinking if there closing it for a hole season there definitely going to change the fire affects maybe be getting new stuff like in the ice room maybe replace all the characters maybe get new dogs at the start that look the same but obviously new they should also add more light stuff like coloured lights because of the new kind of technology and they should try do something to that bit before the ice room where that huge noise is of the fan and 100% try add more in the ice room and possibly add storage holders in the station cause I've broke 2 phones from water damage on valhalla
Great video, cannot wait to see what happens with Valhalla, it's by far my favourite water ride. Having only ridden it 7 or 8 times I only saw the ring of fire once which was my first ride and it was very impressive, hopefully as you said, with modern technology reliability could be improved!
For the ice room I would update the technology so that it actually stays cold/freezing and in addition I would have sprinklers dotted in the ceiling or just above the ceiling through some holes and they would spray water and the cold and you would end up with its snowing and then another big fan inside there or in the side hidden somewhere so that it’s like you’re literally in a blizzard. 🥶❄️🌨
Enjoyed the video! I love Valhalla but glad it’s getting a refurb. Latter part of the ride is my favourite with the fire effects - hope they don’t remove that. The water vortices work fine on Gruffalo, so no reason they cannot get a vortex that doesn’t soak you! Worst part of the ride was stepping into a boat ankle deep in water. New boats will hopefully fix this. Really miss the old facade though. The skeleton entrance looked so much better. Any idea what the park are doing with Noah’s Ark? I’d love to see it restored to a working Ark like the one at Kennywood.

A big improvement to the safety of the Valhalla ride is to have a moving walkway as you mount the boat. Otherwise there is an accident and an expensive lawsuit waiting to happen.
One change i would like to see that a good few people may disagree with me on is that i would like to see the wetness turned down, i rarely get the chance to ride it because of how cold it usually is in blackpool and generally not wanting to walk around soaked through all day, but apart from that keep the fire and just update a few of the effects and make it more sustainable in my opinion.
Love Valhalla I first rode it with my gf back in September of 2000 when it was just a few months old. I remember my gf and myself getting absolutely drenched followed by fire and ice effects. Let's hope the improvements are well worth the wait 😉🤔
I helped build it back in the day it was called project 2000 at the time. I built the rock face out side and a lot inside to amazing ride. Keep the vlogs and videos coming never miss them.

Hearing you talk about the improvements makes me hope these do happen other than the water, get everyone soaked I say 😂 but why do I have that feeling that cost effecting always downgrades product quality. I see these coasters and rides and I think to myself is there a way to make them self efficient. I mean a coaster is using electricity say to send it up the track. Then when it comes down this is all momentum and gravity, 'free energy' not being sourced. If there was a way and there must be to turn all that to create more electricity from the carts or wheels for example or whatever, and the ride powers itself. Or even if it wasn't enough at least it would contribute?

I'll be waiting on your verdict as I don't want to be going on this ride with high expectations only to experience a lacklustre experience. I say this because when I went many moons ago when valhalla was relatively knew, it was my favourite ride. A second visit of pleasure beach I again loved the ride and I'm sure it was a different track layout inside which was great to have. Haven't been back many times but when I did I was already gutted that this ride was closed each time. Have been back in September where it was closed and got to experience the fantastic icon. I'm be back there in 2020 this time Knowingly that valhalla will be running. I've read the cost of this beast to run so I hope the cost effective improvements isn't going to take away my memories of how good it was. Especially when I've been hyping the ride up to my partner. Then again as she's only gets the courage to go on the ghost train and nickelodeon coaster, valhalla probably make her shit her knickers even if half as good. I feel these are the rides for the future of theme parks. Gone are the roller coasters for me. Once you've been on one you've been on them all to some extent. Unless its a coaster with a difference or themed experience
My kids just huddle under their ponchos and miss most of the ride sfx so I agree that it just needs to be less soakings. Also a self draining floor. I’m sick of y shoes getting totally swamped.
Danielle Dewitt you didn’t used to get soaked to the skin when it first opened (I’m fairly sure), but apart from in the summer iI think it’s just too wet, like he says in the video the water tunnel just dumps on you. But that’s only my opinion it’s cool if you like getting soaked, I’d just like to enjoy the experience a bit more. Still love the ride though.

I love the valhalla ... we saw it the before it opened with no skull on the front! We knew it was going to be amazing and it is! I still have the news paper that went with the opening of the ride ... the valhalla star! Xx
The Thompsons cant put lap bars on the boats of valhalla thats what gives you the trill. Gutted I cant go on it this year tho it's my Favourate Dark/Water ride i've ever been on.
The worst part of Valhalla is the boats that has 3 inch water before you start. Should be a better ride next year. Last drop was always good, but the only time I saw the ring of fire was a bad curry in blackpool😆.

Better effects and near misses while getting slightly wet is needed. Most people miss the effects because they wear the clear hooded poncho throughout the ride.

I think the boats need a draining system added. Last time I went on it I was sat knee deep in water

The vortex tunnel has to stay - it's iconic! The issue is that some of the jets arn't firing water cleanly, causing a lot of the water to fall on you.

Problem is the lazy staff who turn some of the water effects of so as not to have to stand there with the vac draining the boats.

I will admit the effects can be very unreliable and that goes for the ride too but its going to be considering the amount of money that it costs to run and update it. For people complaining about how soaked you get, well it's a water ride for starters what were you expecting and the fact that it warns you that you'll get drenched. The only complaint I can understand about this ride is that before it even starts the boats are filled with quite a bit of water which causes your feet to become soggy and wet all the way through. Upon saying that the boats constantly move and so there isn't really any time to drain the water out. They try there best but you got to give them credit for managing that ride when its heaving in summer
It's also the most expensive water ride at around £15 million (I think) and so you got to think about the cost for the water bills and so on...
This ride needs a bag rack! It’s one of the only rides that doesn’t let you leave your bags and it’s the main one that needs one, really hope they add one this time

I remember when I first rode the ride and I went down the drop with the fire effect (which was working!), it made it look like the end of the drop and so expected to get impact from it. But as we took the drop and went through it I felt like the drop was going into the unknown. It was such a weird feeling, but also soo cool!!
I hope we don't have to wait too long for another new big ride. I know their limited by space...but a boy can dream! (Still haven't done ICON yet either 😞)

I kind of wish I saw the older versions of this ride, there seems to be so much history! But hopefully I will have a new and improved version to experience when I finally make it to Blackpool for the first time. Even though I won't really have anything to compare it to 🙈
Some of the boats are missing the foot boards so your feet have to sit in 6 inches of water, I don't mind getting wet but wet feet can be annoying. If you try lifting your feet up to avoid getting wet they tell you off over the speakers. Also the staff try to avoid using the vac to suck water out of bottom of boats so as to have an easier shift.
I remember riding this the year it opened going onto the ride thinking "it will just wet us a little, cant be worse than the log flume" lol Its a great ride for sure i just want to see the wetness reduced. Just sort the boats and get rid of that water tunnel and get the other effects working again and i will be happy.
Other things that are not essential would be if they can get rid of the backwards drop section? Its not needed and i bet it slows down the throughput. Also a separate unloading station/area? The ice room would be probably cheaper if they used giant blowing cool fans that hit the boat rather than cool the whole room

It’s pleasure beach so we’re unlikely to see them dumb it down. They know (and are probably very proud of the fact) that it sits on a throne as best water ride in its current state. Thing is since half of the experience is effects, technology has moved on so much in 20 years that they had to make major changes to keep it current. Obviously they’ll fix issues etc too

Valhalla steam room is fairly easy to change the “steam” should be changed to a fog machine or projector that really good while the heat could be what Disney used on test track which was very hot, the tunnel likely will be projected to save money, the ice room should be similar to a freezer system like what sea world uses for their cold rides while nearly clear acrylic could be used to set a scene combined with projection of maybe a battle of the gods (Norse afterlife was believed to be never ending war where people could fight to their hearts content forever), and the boats probably are probably going out for newer ones. That whirlpool water effect is exactly the same from universal studios mythos except they didn’t turn this one off, it’s a very expensive effect because of the huge amount of water running over your head, universal managed to make the expense easier on them by constantly recycling the water used basically making their expense nothing but with projection tech it’s likely going to now projected. The voice thing is should be like big thunder mountain but that laser placement is weird instead maybe a scene of modern Norwegian gods or something it could tie it together maybe a projection of Odin speaking.

Be it by accident or not i think it adds to the ride and sets it apart from the rest.There are far too many water rides where you don't get we/or very little,look at how the rapids at Alton Towers are now pants because you don't get wet,it is boring as hell,you are more likely to get wet on the in the night garden ride lol. Let's be honest nobody comes off a water ride laughing at how dry they stayed,but you will find loads of people finding it funny when they are dripping wet.

I can remember coming off the Popeye and Bluto Bilge Rat Barges water ride at Islands of Adventure in Florida... absolutely soaked coming off as was everybody else and this is how it should be on a water ride.

I hope so too. Valhalla is my favourite ride but them drops are steep and I'm always hanging on for dear life with my brain saying 'if your bum comes off that seat one more inch, you're falling out 😂'.
they don't add lap bar restraints on water rides due to risks of flooding, sinking or capsizing which would mean you couldn't be evacuated quickly; a potential drowning hazard
would be gutted if they put lapbars in

Hands down the best dark ride I’ve been on but the effects are so unreliable. Fair play to BPB for sorting this out.
I would like more to be made of the view and backwards drop. A themed shutter could come down to make it pitch black, some thunder / lightning effects and then the backwards drop.
I think the ice room should have a projection of Vikings setting up camp on a frozen lake, and audio to go with it but as you get closer to the drop a ice cracking sound effect should start and obviously the drop would be you falling threw the ice, I think that would be good and restraints would probably be good on there just for extra safety, 1 thing they should add is a place bags like storm force 10 has, that way you won't have all wet belongings

The ironic thing about you hate the laser is when it first opened it apparently had a really cool laser floor affect on the first drop.
I remember going on it on the first year it opened and on the first drop you seemed to plunge into a misty fogs with bits of sparkle / shimmer in it .... I found that a bit unnerving as it was like dropping into an abyss... but years later I never noticed that effect ??? Did I imagine something?

With Valhalla being made by intamin, What if they took out the turntable and replaced it with a virtical drop section like thirteen and Hagrid's motorbike adventure both have? Imagine the wind effect then dropping straight down? That'd be exciting and also scary if you'd never experienced a virtical drop track before.

It's great to see the park looking after Valhalla, it really does need a big overhaul like what they are doing now. I once had a ride on it where only half the effects were working back in 2018, so hopefully, that will all be fixed up. I think it's likely we will be getting new boats as well, as pleasure beach is selling the boats on their websites as some memorabilia. Will be interesting to see what actually happens, and keep up the good work with your videos. You inspired my love of coasters and my start in this enthusiast community, and I love these new improvements you're doing to your channel. Keep it up! :)

Just to put it in perspective - £15m back in 1999-2000 is approximately £27m in today's money. Can you imagine any UK park spending that much on a ride now? Merlin still only spending £15m on a coaster which usually includes the marketing budget as well.
I agree with a lot of the comments, the ride just got people to wet, have been on it numerous times and missed some of the effects because I have been dripping with water. I used to joke it would be simpler and quicker to stand outside the ride and let an attendant throw a bucket of water over you. If they want to change it for the better they need to reduce how wet people get,

The main thing I would love is for them to have a place to keep your coats/bags/phones etc like they have on the big rides. I love valhalla but usually i’m worrying about my phone getting soaked or my bag/coat flying out etc

I got a free return trip to blackpool because why riding Valhalla a small child was in the back of my boat on his own and he was terrified, he tried to jump out of the boat about half way around at the point where they turn the boat for the backwards drop, I dread to think had he got caught up in the mechanism under the water, I had to convince him not to jump as he was standing in the edge of the boat, once I convinced him to sit back down I then quickly had to make my way to the back seat to make sure he never tried it again, luckily by this time they had noticed what took place and stopped the ride.
Hated rides back in 2013 and visited BPB in 2018 and not been since 2013(my first time) I rode it for first time Sep 2018 fell in love with it. Went back June 2019 Loved it even more ! Can’t wait to 2021
I think it’s great that Pleasure beach are refurbishing Valhalla possibilities are endless. I would like to see two different sound tracks so you could here the main theme When you sitting in boats but as you go in they could even have audio cues for the drops

The last few years have been awesome seeing the first reactions by some of my friends on this, best moment was my bestie when the 2 hammers come down 😂 had a proper scream and ducked 🤣 A bonus though, when it reopens my little one should be big enough to ride, shes going to love it!
im thinking if there closing it for a hole season there definitely going to change the fire affects maybe be getting new stuff like in the ice room maybe replace all the characters maybe get new dogs at the start that look the same but obviously new they should also add more light stuff like coloured lights because of the new kind of technology and they should try do something to that bit before the ice room where that huge noise is of the fan and 100% try add more in the ice room and possibly add storage holders in the station cause I've broke 2 phones from water damage on valhalla
Great video, cannot wait to see what happens with Valhalla, it's by far my favourite water ride. Having only ridden it 7 or 8 times I only saw the ring of fire once which was my first ride and it was very impressive, hopefully as you said, with modern technology reliability could be improved!

For the ice room I would update the technology so that it actually stays cold/freezing and in addition I would have sprinklers dotted in the ceiling or just above the ceiling through some holes and they would spray water and the cold and you would end up with its snowing and then another big fan inside there or in the side hidden somewhere so that it’s like you’re literally in a blizzard. 🥶❄️🌨

Enjoyed the video! I love Valhalla but glad it’s getting a refurb. Latter part of the ride is my favourite with the fire effects - hope they don’t remove that. The water vortices work fine on Gruffalo, so no reason they cannot get a vortex that doesn’t soak you! Worst part of the ride was stepping into a boat ankle deep in water. New boats will hopefully fix this. Really miss the old facade though. The skeleton entrance looked so much better.
Any idea what the park are doing with Noah’s Ark? I’d love to see it restored to a working Ark like the one at Kennywood.

I didn’t see the sign cause I’m claustrophobic and I was curled in a ball, next thing I knew I was falling forward and had the quickest reflexes in my life
A big improvement to the safety of the Valhalla ride is to have a moving walkway as you mount the boat. Otherwise there is an accident and an expensive lawsuit waiting to happen.
All water rides operate in that way, and a moving platform conveyor is much more likely to cause accidents
One change i would like to see that a good few people may disagree with me on is that i would like to see the wetness turned down, i rarely get the chance to ride it because of how cold it usually is in blackpool and generally not wanting to walk around soaked through all day, but apart from that keep the fire and just update a few of the effects and make it more sustainable in my opinion.

If you don't want to get too wet then you just buy a poncho at the ride entrance,problem sorted.
If they want to save costs wouldn't mind them replacing the ice room with a fog room like Eftalings Flying Dutchman
The first time I went on it ,it was pouring down with rain so we was soaked already an have to say it is the best wet ride you can get.

Love Valhalla I first rode it with my gf back in September of 2000 when it was just a few months old. I remember my gf and myself getting absolutely drenched followed by fire and ice effects. Let's hope the improvements are well worth the wait 😉🤔

It's the only thing that might entice me to go back to Blackpool next year other than that no reason for me to revisit this year.

Hearing you talk about the improvements makes me hope these do happen other than the water, get everyone soaked I say 😂 but why do I have that feeling that cost effecting always downgrades product quality. I see these coasters and rides and I think to myself is there a way to make them self efficient. I mean a coaster is using electricity say to send it up the track. Then when it comes down this is all momentum and gravity, 'free energy' not being sourced. If there was a way and there must be to turn all that to create more electricity from the carts or wheels for example or whatever, and the ride powers itself. Or even if it wasn't enough at least it would contribute?

I'll be waiting on your verdict as I don't want to be going on this ride with high expectations only to experience a lacklustre experience. I say this because when I went many moons ago when valhalla was relatively knew, it was my favourite ride. A second visit of pleasure beach I again loved the ride and I'm sure it was a different track layout inside which was great to have. Haven't been back many times but when I did I was already gutted that this ride was closed each time. Have been back in September where it was closed and got to experience the fantastic icon. I'm be back there in 2020 this time Knowingly that valhalla will be running. I've read the cost of this beast to run so I hope the cost effective improvements isn't going to take away my memories of how good it was. Especially when I've been hyping the ride up to my partner. Then again as she's only gets the courage to go on the ghost train and nickelodeon coaster, valhalla probably make her shit her knickers even if half as good.
I feel these are the rides for the future of theme parks. Gone are the roller coasters for me. Once you've been on one you've been on them all to some extent. Unless its a coaster with a difference or themed experience

My kids just huddle under their ponchos and miss most of the ride sfx so I agree that it just needs to be less soakings. Also a self draining floor. I’m sick of y shoes getting totally swamped.

Danielle Dewitt you didn’t used to get soaked to the skin when it first opened (I’m fairly sure), but apart from in the summer iI think it’s just too wet, like he says in the video the water tunnel just dumps on you. But that’s only my opinion it’s cool if you like getting soaked, I’d just like to enjoy the experience a bit more. Still love the ride though.

The Thompsons cant put lap bars on the boats of valhalla thats what gives you the trill. Gutted I cant go on it this year tho it's my Favourate Dark/Water ride i've ever been on.

The worst part of Valhalla is the boats that has 3 inch water before you start. Should be a better ride next year. Last drop was always good, but the only time I saw the ring of fire was a bad curry in blackpool😆.

Better effects and near misses while getting slightly wet is needed. Most people miss the effects because they wear the clear hooded poncho throughout the ride.
