  • Your p.m. Northeast Ohio weather forecast for March 9, 2023: Old man winter has not gone far from the NE Ohio region. Here's what to expect in the coming hours.
A significant area of low pressure is expected to move in from the west overnight through the morning hours Friday. One of the interesting things about this system is the possibility of dryer air working into the interior of the system with warmer weather causing a rain slush from Akron-Canton and southward.
The first "wave" of snowfall will move in shortly after the midnight hours. As the low pulls farther north and east, look for another nose of snow reinforcing west of the Cleveland metro area in the afternoon and evening as it pulls eastward. Daytime highs will bounce between the mid to upper 30s south and mid to low 30s north and along the coast.
Expect wind gusts to approach 20 to 30 mph as well, which could limit visibility considerably as snowfall occurs.
