Absolutely enjoy both of these saws. In full disclosure one matter of weakness should be addressed about the 500i. For many operators in the logging industry the stock anti vibration system lacks the robustness most operators prefer. This is not to say the AV system fails, but rather its very soft particularly when a longer bar is used in felling operations. Kits are available to replace the stock AV components with more ridged parts. If you only need the 500i as a firewood saw its stock configuration will serve you well. If you’re in logging operations and prefer a firm AV system up grade with a kit. The intention is not to dismay others about the saw, rather to educate the audience so they can build/modify the saw to fit their niche if need be. It really is an amazing saw.
Calling Husqvarna “junk” is asking for a fight. I have stihl and husky pro saws, no 500i yet. The husky’s cut faster for less money. The stihl might be slightly more dependable and have a little more torque but I really prefer the husky for the $ and have a couple of ported husky’s I’ll run against the stihls you have there any day 😉.
@@Katyhillfarmer what was the husky model you used and didn't like.? what was wrong with it? Both brands produce stellar saws, and also some duds. These new auto tune saws in both brands produce lovely linear power, if you have the opportunity give a 572 or a 592 husky a go, that should change your mind. not withstanding the 462 stihl I've used a lot, and love it.
I own both huskys and stihl I prefere stihl but huskys are great saws. I think they are smooth and Stihls feal and seam better built . Questions on your guys opinions.
The 461 is a mean saw for sure thts what i would have if the local shop had any left thanks for watching and have a good day hope you hit the subscribe button on the way out
I so wanted to watch your video but your obvious distraction to your phone ringing in the background and who might be leaving you a message caused me to stop the video. I don’t like giving negative feedback but you obviously are making videos while without blocking out time to make them. Sorry.
I just read your description which I find awesome because I’m also a wv resident. My mother grew up in fairmont where she lived on Katy hill (named after her grandmother) curious if you live in the same area? Do you know the last name Locke? Or Metz? I’ve watched you since the beginning but just thought of this.
Husqvarna is a piece of junk eh? Not much power? IMO you are a typical brainwashed Stihl owner. My oppinion is both brands are good. Good and bad in everything. Even in the Stihl line of saws.
@@maxmoneyy9471 It's not supposed to be on par with a 500I. It's a $1500 80cc saw. I have both also. Several. Most I paid for any of my 572XP PHOS IS $700. Going to compare things, compare apples to apples. BTW . If Stihl is so good, why did they completely redesign the 462 back in April? New cylinder and piston, new crankshaft, new crankcases. Could it be because they're actually human in Germany and produce bad saws once in awhile like everybody? You Stihl heads think Stihl is so great you make the rest of the world shake their heads at your blind loyalty!
The 462 is better than the 572xp also, I would say the 500i and 462 are very close competitors in the stihl line up so why wouldn’t the 572xp compete against them. And every manufacturer has issues now and again, why do you think the 550xp has a mark 2😂
@@maxmoneyy9471 Thank you. You made my point for me on my very first post. They all have problems. As far as the rest of what you said, it's full of holes, but I don't have time to argue with a Stihl head. Absolute waste of time.
We have both at work, if I had to buy one it would be the 462
What made u choose the 462?
Love my 462cm!!

Hey mate 12 months on id love to hear opinions on 462 vs 500 looking for a lightweight firewood saw to pair with my 661 thoughts ?
462 all day long
Try slow pull throughs ( 3-5 ) on non primer bulb saws , than your normal start procedures .
thanks for the information i will give it a try also thanks for watching and hope you subscribe to the channel
Thank you! I bought one this year. Best saws ever.
Yes very reliable thanks fir watching

well the one i used was junk with a capital J but i have used a bigger husky and the do have a higher rpm than the stihl

What? 372, and up Huskies just as good as the Stihl competition, especially the 3120. And I'm a Stihl bloke
Agree to disagree lol thanks for watching what saw do you have and use ?
The 300 series huskies, you're right. The 500 series, not so much. Lots of QC problems for husky lately. Bearings, air filter mounts failing etc

STIHL N 1 👍👍👍
i agree thanks for watching and what kind stihl you have
I will keep my MS 461

i agree to a certain point
I own a brand new 500i and a husqvarna 572xp, the 500i is better in every way. My 572xp isn’t a bad saw but it’s just not on par with the new stihl.
