I came by a used biocube 32 for my wife. She really likes jawfish so it wil be an only jawfish/goby tank. The stock light is waaaaaay to white for me. Just ordered this. Thanks for the video! If this tank really works out I might just take down my 100 gallon tank and stick with this.

Ive been debating this upgrade for a long time. You've convinced me. Not sure if I should thank you or be angry for getting me to spend $$.

Can you do a video on setting the hurricane X programs?

Hi, wondering what are the values you use for your lights channels 1, 2, 3 & 4. Hope your corals are growing big!

My corals are doing fantastic, the growth is very impressive. I am still in the process of acclimating them to the new lights but currently have Channel 1 (White) set to 0350 which is about 8.5%, and Channel 2 (Blue) set to 2310 which is about 56%. All other channels are off as the LED system for the Biocube 32 is only two channels. My system also came opposite the instructions. My Whites are Channel 1, and Blues are channel 2.

Was there an increase in your tank temperature after the upgrade? How do you control the OEM fan?

Hi, I have not noticed a significant increase in water temperature. The tank is running approximately half a degree warmer since the upgrade but it is also the middle of summer so this increase may not be a direct result of the new lighting. I also purchased the additional temperature probe to monitor this closely. I have a secondary temperature sensor as well, and both readings continue to match. The stock fan is controlled the same way as it was before the upgrade.

    How much?

    • @gspnicole8351

In total I paid 590$ for the LEDs. This included the additional upgrades (violet lights, temperature probe), plus installation kit. As well as an extra 50$ duty at customs because I live in Canada. The cost was why I took forever to upgrade my lighting, but so far it has been 100% worth the money.

Right now the 32G LEDs plus hurricaneX, cable, temp probe, and iridescence upgrade is selling discounted for $395 of stevesleds.com!!!
I’m very tempted to buy it after this video. Thank you so much!

@@gspnicole8351 the wire from the board to controller, does it matter how they are plugged in I’m having a lot of trouble

Hi@@gunpowder97, from my experience the wire went into the controller quite easily, once I figured out which part of the wire was the top/bottom. Getting it out was a bit more of a challenge, since you have to press the tab in to release the wire as you pull it out.
