The fact that D.O. used his full chest voice to belt the notes while sitting down 🫡 I need a collab or at least the full cover by them so badly.
That's not a "full chest voice". U can't bring chest voice that high bcus of the passagio, & it can be damaging too. That's a chesty MIXED voice. Why does everyone keeps spewing bs over stuffs they barely knew about?? No need to use these vocal pedagogy terms if that's not smthing u're studying now.

The main comments precisely said all exo members are real singers which is absolutely true bc all the members can sing 👍🏼 that comment never mentioned or call out any other groups for their bad singing but the way it hit your nerve is really hilarious 😂

There are many singers who do high notes.. the difference with KYUNGSOO is his beautiful tone and very clear delivery may it be Korean or English or other languages.
I have always admired them both. Goosebumps all over at how amazing they sound both relaxed sitting down. Hope they do a collab. ❤
Kyungsoo was belting his HEART out here, he sounds perfect. Suhyuns voice is also so nice and her tone is so clear and round and sweet and she’s so amazing. her harmonies sound AMAZING

it's not even that he's hitting decently high notes. He's hit higher. It's that when so many people would tighten their vocal chords to EEK those notes out, he fully opens his throat. That's how you get that kind of power and control. The breath control, the support, the clarity of tone, just everything. His vocal technique is incredible, it's almost textbook.
Actually, he's not "fully" opening his throat here. Esp on those B♭4s. They're supported but also has a bit of tension & pushing. He has much better B♭4 before for a comparison.

And I'm sorry for not being chronically online but "praising good vocalists to the moon and back"?? That too in Kpop?! The only good vocalists I see getting praised all the time in Kpop are Taeyeon (some consider her THE best in Kpop for some reason) & Baekhyun (mostly because people enjoy his solo albums more) & sometimes Ailee.
Even Chen is only talked about in some vocal ranking videos only, that too most consider him weaker than BtoB, Shinee & even Baekhyun for some reason. And D.O. would probably be unknown as a good vocalist if he wasn't a main vocalist. The ones I see getting praised to the moon & back are Jihyo, Seulgi, nmixx, Winter, Haechan, Jungkook, Lia, Rosé, IU, Jongho, Seungmin, Heesung, Yunjin, etc. who are like decent at best... Which real good vocalist are you talking about?

The girl is Lee Suhyun from AKMU, a brother-sister duo from YG. They’re huge in Korea with Suhyun as vocalist and older brother Chanhyuk the writer/producer/instrumentalist/sub-vocalist and occasional rapper. Their music is fantastic and they recently released a Killing Voice. Would recommend!

Y’all faves can’t even sing as well as Exo’s main rapper Park Chanyeol, let alone the main vocalist Doh Kyungsoo. To be clear, I AM NOT surprised D.O. is capable of belting with chest voice, Exo been belting and running and saaangin since pre-debut in 2012 What is Love. Name me a kpop singer that can sing What is Love as well as D.O. I’ll wait… We are excited because it’s been a long time since we have had live D.O performances, his last concert and proper promotions was in 2018 before his enlistment! His 2021 solo album didnt even have performances due to covid etc. Exo are concert kings they hold the guiness world record for fastest sold out concerts 0.2s for 67k tickets, but we havent seen them in concert since 2019! So it’s great to see D.O. flex different techniques LIVE in a genre he doesn’t normally do, and he does it beautifully. The latest Exo comeback Exist is very RNB hiphop (still incredibly vocally impressive just a different style) again, name me a kpop group skilled enough to sing Cream Soda… I’ll wait. And D.O’s latest solo album Expectation is mostly acoustic/folk/rnb, also equally impressive, but utilising different techniques. Even if you just watch his performances from just this one episode of Seasons Akmu, he sings several songs in various genres and flexes a huge variety of techniques and executes them flawlessly. Name a kpop singer that comes close to D.O’s incredible skill set… again… I’ll wait.
@@resurgingflame I agree with them that in kpop it is not common. Especially now with some companies are focusing more on creating catchy songs a difficult choreo. One can always be surprised at their vocal talent even if they have heard how good they are multiple times. I myself have heard them for years and I am still surprised and in awe. Not because I cannot believe they can sing like that, but because they are so good and through the years have gotten even better.
@M-de-Vale I had the same reaction as you when I heard this performance and have heard it multiple times since it was uploaded on here. Just one things I wanted to mention. Though Exo is the only male group I 100% stan (Mamamoo being the only female group I stan) let's not throw shade at other groups. The only thing that accomplishes is to add fire to the already hostile fan wars between fandoms. Let's keep loving and supporting Exo and leave it at that.

Idk, but as an exo-l who really used to Kyungsoo singing effortlessly with almost no expression, this is the most powerful and emotion-ful he's ever been while singing 😭 I think that's why this cover hit us really hard

@@bluereabby5781It is not that what costs work is that he knows very well how to sing without having to make an effort, because many times when we see you sing with a swollen face or even swollen neck veins that hurts and is not good for a singer, for example Chen is impressive but there are times (I have seen vocal coach point it out) he has to try harder than necessary to sing and that is not good for He, so I prefer that he sings relaxed and without damaging his vocal cords ...

Oh and since I'm not seeing pronunciations - Suhyun is Soo-hyun (the Us are not the same, that'd be too easy lol). The hyun (hyeon) is the same as Dreamcatcher Gahyeon and Yoohyeon (rhymes with Yoohyeon) or NCT Jaehyun. Hope that helps!
Lee Suhyun is one of Korea's finest female vocalists. Her brother is one of finest music composers as well as an excellent vocalist. You should check out their stuff as AKMU. The fact that DO is on the program indicates how good they are. DO doesn't often do interviews or publicity as he is extremely shy. He must be a true fan of their work.
