The late 90s/early 00s were a weird time. I was a kid, but they were good times, despite all the rough stuff we collectively experienced.
I think this kinda music captures the mood of the era: futuristic, but nostalgic. Fast, but laid back. The death of the old world and the birth of a new one.

I had alot of video games that had soundtracks with this kind of music when I was a kid in the 90s. I'm rediscovering the jungle dnb genre now a couple decades later and it's blissful.
Also, this music seems to help my ADHD brain slow down a bit. I don't know why, but I focus better on tasks while listening to this...

i agree lad. i have adhd as well but its hard for me to admit it to even myself but this is honestly so relateable. i hyperfixate a lot but drum n bass makes the procrastination part of me filled with music that keeps catching your ear and not letting you get tired of it. check out these tracks lad! I've noticed this as well! I am too young to have played those kinds of games as a kid but a couple months ago I came across a DnB mix mostly by accident, and since then its been my go-to for study music. My little ADHD brain just empties out when this stuff is playing and i can actually focus on stuff... its incredible :o
as soon as i have dnb i can work at a constant pace without getting too distracted by external factors. adhd sucks lol also the midnight club 3 DUB EDITION soundtrack is the best in dnb with dom n roland tracks all throughout

Многие, думаю, кто жил в суровых парняцких) районах оценят, как музыка, в том числе такая, помогала выживать! Такие "виды" с хрущевками можно найти во многих городах, с ярко-красным рассветом еще, когда он одновременно таил неопределенность и давал некоторую радость и надежду, что жизнь продолжается, что есть что-то там другое, помимо сурового мироустройства на планете Земля. Это было в 90-ые годы.
А мне кажется что суровые парняцкие районы скорее всего ходили на рейвы и слушали продиги или кристал метод. А здесь звучание более чиловое, не все могут оценить.
