  • In beekeeping you have to make decisions on the fly. Had every intention of requeening this hive but changed my plan when I got into it. #baldheadedbeekeeper #northwestfloridabeekeeping #beekeeper #beekeeping #beetletraps #resourcehive

I tell ya Billy, while I’m bad about rarely nurturing a weak colony, especially this late, if I had access to to a mated queen this late like you said, I think I’d pull that weak queen and requeen the box. You could bank the weak one for a week or two to see if the new one takes, but that new queen might spark them before winter. I’d a moved that brood as well. I might would go back and center all that brood together in the weak one, but that brood and bees ought to boost them for sure.

@@MikeBarryBees when I was editing the video I was thinking I should have put all the brood together.

There seems to be a good bit of us Bald Beekeepers.😂
I was getting ready to do a combine a queenless yeasterday and found an unmarked fall queen, they sure keep us guessing. Thanks for sharing, Blessed Days...

Yes they do. I am about to give up on planning what I am going to do. Seems it always changes when I get into them. Thanks for watching.
