The instructions are similar for the Canon PIXMA MG2420, MG2430, MG2440, MG2450, MG2460, MG2470, MG2480, MG2520, MG2530, MG2540, MG2560, MG2570, MG2580, MG2920, MG2930, MG2940, MG2950, MG2960, MG2970, MG2980, MG2990
I plugged old HP printer USB cable I kept in my junk box from 20 years ago. Was so happy to finally prove to my wife I keep old junk for a reason. Thanks Canon you give junk a value :)

Oh my fd, you're the lucky one! I kept the same cable in my junk box for over 20 years too. But I moved to my new apartment without that box. And I bought the genious printer.
My gf threw them away after 10 years of hoping they would be useful again in my life... I'm so glad she did, because now I finally have a solid argument! :D
This is very useful. Yet, I wish you had shown a bit more clearly which way to put the ink-things. The thing is I am totally clueless, because I have never had an ink printer before.
Anyway, videos like this are life savers. At least mental health savers.

Oh I see... the reason I can't find my USB cable is because there really isn't one. Just as well I live in a place that has about 3,462,049 shops that do printing, I guess.
I did the same mistake. Bought a printer without an USB-cable :( . And it even says so, but I did not notice. And how easy is it to get that cable? Not so easy it turns out. I can actually throw my printer in the garbage and buy a new one. With a cable this time. And I will really make sure it has a cable this time!
This printer doesn’t come with the crucial cable, the use cable!

hello would it be too much to ask for if you could explain what i’m doing wrong...i’ve installed the ink cartridges more than 10 times and the alert button just keeps flashing orange even though i’ve done it EXACTLY like it’s shown please help what do i do and or what am probably doing wrong

TheSnow720 I bought one for not even 2$. You cannot tell me consumers are so price sensitive that they will not spend 2$ more. Good thing though, it is quite easy to refill once you drill the holes.
got home all nice and happy opened a beer and started to unpack this nice and cheap printer... all good until i started to install the software on mac and got to the step where i need to connect the printer with the laptop with a cable...well there's a problem...there's no fucking cable...and now my issue is...is this fucking printer fucking wireless as they said in the fucking add...which is the reason why i fucking bought it or they fucking lied about it? anyway the beer is good! cheers to y'all

lol i brought one these on ebay brand new because it said it comes with the usb lead and so did the recept say usb inc but when i opened it yep no USB lead so i contacted him saying this to him and he even said that there should be one in the box i will send one out first class in the post but i said no worries i have just ordered a 3 meter USB lead as my printer is to far away from my pc it only cost me £2.50 so cheap you would think it would come free with it anyway.

you can easily buy a USB to printer cable in any electronics store. It's very cheap. None-the-less it is very annoying that it is not mentioned on the box that the printer does not include USB cable. Had I known I could have bought one right away, in the same store when I bought the printer. But instead, I drove to the store, bought the printer, bought the ink, and then drove home, then installed everything and then did not find the USB cable, had to drive back to the store and buy the cable.....Canon, make this printer 2 euro's more expensive and include the f***g cable!!!
But on the other side : It was not mentioned on the box that the USB was included . (under contents) .

You can download the drives from google. I bought mine second hand and I was not given the disc but atleastbhe gave me the USB cable downloaded them .
No USB cable!!! Was first and last time that i bought a printer from canon.
I bought this for wireless use and it doesn't seem to work. I have Mac Book Air. Why won't it work! Argos said it was wireless. :(

Hi i used to own a Pixma 2550. I used it to print leaflets and now its broke Im looking for a replacement, I cant find many about, but plenty 2550 S. Does anyone know if they are essentially the same printer and if the same drivers will work and if the printed image would look exactly the same???
I believe the MG2550S takes the same cartridges as the MG2550, PG-545 and CL-546 and has similar specs, so I would guess the printed image would be very close, but I cannot guarantee it. Not sure on the drivers.

I do not recomend buying this printer.I bought it not even a month ago and guess what....ot wont take my paper.I tried everything to search up and then i decided to open it up...Anf after that it didn't work at all....Also I ONLY USED IT ONCE TO PRINT MAYBE 10 TO 15 PAPERS...which isn't a lot for printer

Can anyone tell me how to SCAN a document from this printer to my PC?
If it is conneted to your PC with an USB cable you could do it .
Go to : Devices and printers .
You will open a window with the hardware contained on your PC.
Go to : Devices and Fax units . and open the shown printer . Scan . (what so ever) .
This should be renamed, restoring replacing printer cartridges, it shows you nothing on how too start the printer and get things going.Unless you have a printer usb cable or given good advice it will take you a long time too set this up.

You can't do it, because even it stated as Canon PIXMA MG2550S -Specification - Inkjet Photo Printers .

Why tf is a big brand like CANON, not including the most important cord which is the one that goes from the computer to the printer. THIS IS THE DUMBEST PRINTER buy I have ever done. I have a brand new printer that I cannot use.
