Same here because I love extreme amounts of bass. Unlike Skullcandy, using the Sensation55 drivers which have fake, dirty bass, the Sony ULT WEAR have real, clean bass from the 40mm drivers.
I have Sony ULT i just purchased it last week, my honest review, when you press the ult button 1 or 2 times, you'll get amazing bass sound, totally worth it. I don't need buy xm4 or xm5. The ULT are enough great bass🎉
Your noise canceling test is inaccurate. If you want to talk about noise canceling, get put of the house, tsne the headphones onboard a bus, stand next to a washing machine etc. Don't just play some noise on your phone then make a noise canceling conclusion.
i have both and with some fiddling with the Sony app and PowerAMP Equalizer, i get both to sound rather similar. same goes with my pc using EqualizerAPO application. ULT-Wears do have higher tolerances in therms of more bass output before the drivers get overwhelmed, but in the same time XM5's seem to have wider sound stage overall. overall i have to say tho that for being much cheaper than XM5's, these ULT-Wears do put up a good fight overall.
I have the XM5'S and boy that green color looks good but i prefer the midnight blue the XM5 offer the sound quality is crisp and well balanced i love bass but only on my speakers i prefer headphones to sound more balanced
The Sony by a mile, I have both and from my experience on every level besides that soft touch feel on the Crushers anc2 plastic, the Sony Ult do them in.
the ult has a very warm sound, not a very wide sound but with the equ it gets kind of decent the noise canceling is great not as god as the xm5 but very close
Ugh !!! Im unsatisfied i returned the airpods max and going to return the xm5 because i WANT BASS!!! Where is the basss?!? I want t feel it my my socks my heart want my teeth t rattle
You even got a pair? And don’t say they sound terrible it’s just that you don’t prefer bass which is fine and their noise cancellation is way better than the xm5s

There's no existing technology known that can completely block the noise of a child crying on a flight.
A comparison between the ult power and the xm4’s would be cool since they’re closer in price and they are more consistent with the base. 🤷♂️

Ridiculous test....these are Sony's headsets and you are using iOS devices to compare the sound quality even no LDAC is on.
