This looks like a nice model, I'm looking forward to the next videos👌👍
I am looking forward to the build as it will be so different to what I have built already.
Great build and video.
Thanks Peter, much appreciated. Hope you follow the entire build process.
As someone who has built one of these I look forward to seeing how you get on. I can vouch for the fun driving it around and yes, the replacement sprocket rings are steel as I can attest the original aluminium ones were too soft for the wear the tracks put on them.
Hi Daniel, thanks for watching and commenting. How did you get on with installing the Sprocket...I have read that some builders had issues with the taper lock? Early days, but really enjoying this build so far. Hope you continue to follow the build and hope I don't disappoint.
@@tonys_workshop I was one of the ones having issues with the locking bushes and I still can't tell you what differentiates from getting them to lock on vs. Them letting go. You will need to find a way of holding the sprocket in place when you torque up the bush. Chris at Armortek made a custom tool to hold the sprocket in place using a metal bar and a couple of bolts aligned with the holes. Also make sure the sprocket teeth are aligned on both sides, it is possible to mount them slightly off and this will cause all sorts of issues with the track jumping.
Ooooh can’t wait. The Pershing was amazing.
Thanks Paul, hope you follow the build.
Translation as „Chaser“ is about ok (German native speaker). But at the time nobody in the army called it Hetzer. It was called Jagdpanzer 38
Tony's~what'up, Bravo! total perfect job, 🙂
All good..Thank you..Hope you join me for the entire build.
Ha yes! as I suspected Tony😁
very cool looking Tank with an interesting back story
Glad they upgraded the sprockets to Steel as alloy one's didn't last very long apparently
Here we again on another cracking journey and look forward to seeing it Built
And go for a camo scheme for it?
Hi Gary, Yes as expected. Thought the M26 would be my last, but I think I have an addiction to building these.🤣Defo going for the camo scheme, but not sure which one yet. Catch up soon mate.
I'm really looking forward to this build , if you live anywhere near Imperial War Musuem RAF Duxford in Cambridgeshire they have an actual Hetzer in their land warfare museum ..perfect for reference pics 👍
Thank you and thanks also for your support. I live around 40 mins from IWM Duxford and a member there also. I try and visit there with my Grandkids at least twice a year. We all love it there. Next time I am there I will spend more time looking at the Hetzer. I have seen it...I think it is the later Swiss version, but will defo check it out in more detail next time.
@@tonys_workshopsurprising how small the real thing is..packed a punch though !
I know and there were 4 crew inside it. It must have been cramped.
I reckon you’re creating a mini Bovington Camp! Good luck.
This should be a great build. Im guessing you are getting your animated figures from Church Hill creations. I googled them and it said they were currently shut down. Am i a day late and a dollar short when it come to finding things for my tank!
Hi David, Thank you. Yes Churchill creations. I spoke with Sym 3 weeks ago and he was working on my US crew member for the M26, but have emailed him since with no reply. I am sure they are OK, but will let you know if I hear back from him. One of the challenges in finishing these kits is bringing it together with all the detailing. I tend to hunt through Ebay, other online sites and toy fairs...its all part of the journey. I know it can be frustrating, but you will find everything you need.
Did you build a money printer before starting off?
🤣 I sold a lot of things I was not using anymore and some vintage Star Wars toys to allow me to get into this incredible hobby and I do not regret it. Thanks for watching and commenting.
very nice are you in the uk.?
Yes he is down south I think
I don't suppose you no any one up north who mite build a tank?@@stephenparkes626
Hi Barry, thank you. Yes I am in Essex, England.
Hi Barry, it may be worth checking on the Armortek Forum.
Your German as far as I could notice is rather good! Way better than my English. Me and other followers of your channel will gladly assist in any translations, if needed!
Thank you...I may need it. Thanks also for watching and following.
14.40. Saukopfblende, it looks like a Pig Nose (Sau is a female pig, Kopfblende is Headcover). Thats why they called it Saukopfblende. Greetings from Germany.
Greetings from the UK. Thank you for explaining and apologies for my poor German pronunciation. It does look like a pigs nose😀 Hope you continue to watch and follow. May need more help with my German pronunciation along the way.
I'll be there.👍😀@@tonys_workshop
Hetzer is so tempting just due to the smaller storage requirements. Surprised you didn’t go Churchill though.
The Hetzer is a great option for that reason and that it comes in at a lower price. I have started the build and absolutely love the process so far. Storage is always an issue as well as logistics of moving these beasts around. I do like the Churchill, especially the realistic track sounds generated by the rollers and suspension. Perhaps one for the future. Thanks for watching and following.
Adult lucky dip! I think you summed that un-boxing up well there...
I'm totally guessing this was a kind of tracked field gun, and judging by its name - fire, move, fire type of tactic?
Probably completely wrong, but looking forward to learning more
Hi Martin, absolutely.. this was an agile ambush specialist tank destroyer.
Back of the net ,my favourite Czech bait .going to enjoy this big time , standard issue welljell sir 👍👍🎩🎩.
Thanks Steve. I am really enjoying this build and learning more about the history as I go. Hope all is well and thank you so much for your support.
looking forward to this build ,shame that you cant send the packing peanuts back to armortek so the can be reused .
Hi Alex, now thats a great idea, but I guess would work out too expensive with postage as they would be bulky.
Yeeees another build-series! This will be great. I was also looking into the hetzer when I first started checking Armortek out. Sure price was lower but also that it seemed like a good "beginner kit". At the same time I felt with that kind of money one might as well save up get something one really really wants. But hey I think this will be awesome and I'm very happy to be able to follow the great Tony on another adventure! (Guess your wife is not as happy lol). Cheers // Kris
Hi Kris and thank you. I wanted to do this build as it is so different to the Tiger and the Pershing. Looking at the instructions ahead of the build, it is clear that there will be some different challenges and that is what I wanted. I live near IWM Duxford and they have a full size Swiss version of the Hetzer there. It was small but packed a real punch. Hope you enjoy the series.
Sorry ArmorTek left the turret out of your kit. ;-)
😂
Congratulations on your new kit, Tony. I'm really looking forward to seeing your approach to assembling this one. I too regret missing out on a Sherman, but I hope that Armortek may reissue another variant in the future. I'll start saving my pocket money now! One tank is noteworthy, and two tanks are a coincidence, but I think three tanks are actually constitute a collection...👍
Hi Keith, thankyou. I am looking forward to getting stuck in to the build as it will differ from what I have done already. I have not thought too far ahead as to how to store all 3 of these, but I will worry about that nearer the time.😀
Dang, I was wrong! Your name was mentioned today at a 1/6 Tank meet at the REME museum at RAF Lyneham.
Hi Chris, great to hear from you. Oh dear, I hope it was mentioned in a good way🫢
@@tonys_workshop . All good Tony. I was chatting to Adrian and your name popped up. You should come and join us at a few events.
Hi Chris, Adrian is a great guy and has helped me so much. I will definitely join one of the meets at some point. Do you guys ever meet in the Essex area?
@@tonys_workshop Hi Tony. Sorry for the slow reply. The group tends to meet in north wilts mostly. If you wanted to join us at some point I’m sure either Adrian or myself could host you. As soon as we have 2024’s fixtures I’ll ping you. We need to exchange private comms info.
Could we exchange details on the AT Forum?
Haha, I had a feeling it'd be the Hetzer 38T, a very popular tank with its owner/users in real life, the Germans loved this very mobile, agile and well-protected tank, it also had suitable firepower too. Make sure to get the camouflage right, Tony. Happy building, wish I was doing this one!
Thank you, you were correct. I wanted to build this one for those reasons and that it has different suspension, no turret etc. I am looking forward to getting stuck in and will be doing research on the best camo scheme to run with and how best to apply it.
Very exciting to see this journey!
Thank you and hope you enjoy this build.
Hi tony, love the new build ,this was the tank i was going to go for ,but sadly didnt.great tank to apply damage to skirts ,grills etc .i wait with baited breath
Hi Steve, thank you. I am looking forward to getting stuck into the build.
Brilliant video of the exciting unboxing Tony. A really interesting subject this time and very different to the Tiger and Pershing. Looking forward to following the build.
Thanks Keith. I wanted to build something different so I can continue to learn and develop skills for this amazing hobby.
Nice beginning film, Tony.
Glad to know that a pair of steel sprocket rings is already replace the original alum one. Happy building!
Thank you and thanks for your amazing support. I am really looking forward to getting started on this build and hope you join me on this new journey.
You are truly a glutton for punishment Tony. Looking forward to this build.😊
Hi Chris, Oh yes I am😂
Tony: Waiting to see how this build goes for you and any issues that you conquer. Best of luck.
Thanks Bill, much appreciated.
Watching you unbox reminds me when I was a kid doing a lucky dip at the fun fair.
😀 Thats exactly how I feel. Armortek produce some of the worlds most expensive lucky dips, but they are incredible.
Actual unboxing from 14mins ca.
Thanks for watching and commenting. Intro for 5 mins and unboxing from 5 mins in.
Nice!
Can’t wait to see your progress on this project, Tony. This will be a very interesting change from your previous builds.
Thank you. I am looking forward to getting stuck in. I hope I don't disappoint.
@@tonys_workshop Your previous videos have been great, I’m sure they will not disappoint in the future. Keep on doing what you’re doing already.
Yes! New tank day! Strap yourselves in kids. Looking forward to seeing it come to life Tony.
😂😂 Thanks Russ. Hope I don't disappoint.
@@tonys_workshop never mate, your videos are nice and relaxing to watch, I did like the way you spoke about pricing, you put it across very well and yes they are expensive, but you do get a lot of bang for your buck, you didn't make it seem like it was only for a few, mentioning the payment option was a nice touch, fair play to you.
Awesome, another build session
Thanks Ray...getting started soon.
I'll be here for every episode!!!
Thank you and thank you for your continued support.
Fantastic choice of vehicle , i always like the German vehicles and the Hetzer has character.
Thank you. I am looking forward to getting stuck into this build.
@@tonys_workshop A Sturmgeschütz 3 next? I always used to think the Panzer iv was my favourite Tank but as i have learnt more about them i'd put a Sturmgeschütz, Hetzer and a 38T about equal for character but i'd always pick a Tiger 1 first {but then there are 3 main variations} but probably the early Tiger 1 because it has Character!
Now that is a great tank...If they brought that out again, I would definitely consider it.
This is going to be a good one Tony!
Thanks John, much appreciated.
Wow, the boy has done it again! Tony, I’m still waiting for the final video on your outstanding Pershing build, but your latest choice of the Hetzer looks to be a great one. Naturally the more you build the better and more confident you become - which shows in your delivery and enthusiasm. I’m really looking forward to this although I’m wondering if you are also considering an extension to your house for a ‘Tank Park’? Keep up the brilliant work 💥💥
Hi Peter and thank you. I will be doing more driving videos when the opportunity presents it self, but going to get stuck into this one now. The question about storage is one that my wife keeps asking...I have my eye on her green house🤣
You can do an entire new series on the "tank garage" build@@tonys_workshop
😂 I may have to.
@@tonys_workshop keep up the great work Tony!
Hey Tony
That was a great unboxing and interesting choice. My guess was the Leopard. Can’t wait for the construction to begin.
Make sure you tell Mrs Tony our thanks from your subscribers to green light a third build. It sure helps when the family is okay with our hobby interests that are expensive and time consuming. Let the fun begin.
Mike
Thanks Mike. I wanted to build this as it will provide new challenges and the tanks History really interests me. My family are really supportive..as long as all the other jobs are done first😂
