Cleaning the throttle body on a 2008 Ford Territory or Falcon

Cleaning the throttle body on my 2008 Ford Territory or this can be the same on a Falcon. Basically anything with a Barra engine.
Again I’m not a mechanic, but I do get advice from a mechanic friend. And I like to attempt to do things myself where possible to save a bit of $$$

Hi, helpful video. I was going to remove the whole throttle body as per the instructions on the SCA can and then clean it. I think I will just keep it on and spray , and hopefully not damage plate.

Yes mate as long as it’s got the Barra engine

Yeah great video 👍 I have a 2008 tx rear wheel drive, and it vibrates abit in drive while at the traffic lights. I'll definitely be doing this, have never done it before but. I've here you have to be careful not to touch the gold flap as this can muck up the electronic throttle. Did you touch it with the rag? And was everything ok after?

Thanks mate 🙏. I did stay away from the flaps as much as possible but wasn’t consciously thinking about it. Most of the build up dirt on mine was in the tunnel and could get to it with the towel. Honestly I may have touched the flaps lightly with the towel. But i wasn’t cleaning the flaps with the towel. When you open the flaps to spray down there that’s when you get the hard to reach areas and the dirt goes down and out of the exhaust. Hope that’s helps buddy. Give it a go and you’ll at least know it’s clean and maybe it solves the issue. At the very least it saves you a few hundred dollars doing it yourself 😃👍

@@678ville awesome 👍 thanks mate, that's really good to know, because you can wipe the tunnel with no problem. I'll give the flaps a good spray with throttle body cleaner and Just wipe the tunnel. Thanks bud

Hey Sam, thank you for the comment mate 🙏. I did this as more of a preventative maintenance thing and while I was doing the plugs. But I’ve been told that this could help with acceleration/idle issues which is one reason I did it. Not saying that this is your issue but it won’t hurt to do 👍
