- The cockpit video was recorded aboard flight EK 201, an Airbus A380, arriving in New York on 24th September 2013 under the command of Captain Abbas Shaban, Emirates' Chief A380 pilot. Captain Shaban also provided the interview and voice over describing the JFK landing from a pilot's perspective.

@@stanleynolly1841 Have a listen to the CVR of the Air France 447 for an example of pilots who are complacent about safety and teamwork. A pilot who gives a shit about safety and understands the importance of his/her job is unfortunately not a given.
Even if it's the best pilot, flights can go extremely disastrous and fatal. There's minimum chance you'll live if something goes really wrong.
That's why he's there doing this for 18 years. I love his philosophy. "SAFETY ALL THE TIME" Great principal. ..

I would absolutely love to fly to Dubai via Emirates as I communicated with their airline crew many times to help them when they became ill during flights and layovers. I truly enjoyed working with them.
Hopefully one day I will have a 18+ year career in piloting as well. Love how the Captain emphasises how important safety is. Great.

For all of us aviation fan and spotters you have to agree with this Gentlemen at the ending flying is a truly a serious job but never the less I am no where near to flying an aircraft as yet but when its time to Captain the 777 I'll truly realize aviation is a serious job with tons of responsibilities especially with a plane with such size like the a380. Talking about landing it could be a dramatic experience and yes it is challenging when many lives are in your hands!!For those of who like myself who have ever been in a cockpit on approach you'll truly know what this guy is talking about when approaching the runway(''keep calm and love aviation'')

Flying on Emirates flights from New York to Dubai had little turbulence for about 30 minutes on August 29th, 2017 (departed 4:40 pm, flight # EK208) when it was flying over south of Greenland. 30 minutes was pretty long time and I already began praying. But then all of sudden it stopped - not sure why. (I'm guessing captain was taking a break). On returning Emirates flight EK201 (departed at 8:30 am from Dubai) had comparatively very less turbulence (but was scary at one point that made few female passengers scream a bit) at the same location (south of Greenland). Wondering why both of the Emirates flights (aircraft was airbus A380 in both the cases) had turbulence over southern Greenland? Do Southern Greenland cause turbulence for all flights? Did your flight encountered any turbulence over southern Greenland? How about any other flights / airlines?
