That missing person's statistic is too real, as a kid I remember being lured away by some random dude at the Charlotte airport, I'm so lucky someone noticed what he was doing and stepped in. I probably never would've seen anyone I cared about ever again. The saying is true, see something, say something. It really does save lives.
While Sean was playing the first game he made a comment about working alone late night and said that he thinks it wouldn't be great for a person mentally. That said I actually work nothing but late night shifts at work (a gas station) and I'm alone from 8 to midnight. I can confirm it is not good for my mental health. However when I get home I make something to eat, sit down, and watch Sean's videos. Doing that every night I work has helped me decompress and get back into a stable state of mind. Much love for you Sean!
I work 13 hour shifts and get home just before midnight too, love coming home to watch Seans videos and have done for years. It's strange how after watching since I was a kid, bro's voice has become such a comfort to me and so many others
Yes, Sean. This solitude is absolutely the way it is. I worked the night shift as a security guard and discovered depths of boredom that only those who work the middle of the night know. You read everything you have. You watch whatever you can. You do all your work long before it's needed just cause you've got nothing else to do. And, there is NO ONE AROUND. If the rare occurrence happens that you do have something to do or someone to help it's a thrill, but most nights it's just you and the same booth and a big empty parking lot on nights that are a lot colder than you'd reason they should be. Closing and night shifts are usually solo, at least in the US, and if anything frightens you (say a large animal, which before your imagination runs wild was only a cougar passing through) there's no one. Just you. All alone. In the dead of night.
Depends on the boss on how bad night shift is I’ve heard of some bosses that allow workers to sit on they phone and have calls or even books and magazines but it depends on the job and the boss or manager
I used to work a parking garage across from the train station from midnight to 0730 (Monday and Tuesday) and midnight to noon (Saturday and Sunday). Trains pulling in from New York meant a few people coming in for their car, but my time was spent logging every vehicle parked there. Only two exciting events happened while I was there: witnessing a crash near my site and a series of breakins on my site. The latter was as close as I came to doing detective work because I knew it was kids, just not how they were getting past the booth without being seen. I figured it out and caught the little shits on my last patrol for that morning.

I like how we go from one convenience store as the clerk to a customer stopping at one. As an American I am not aware that gas station cults is a normal thing but according to game developers this is common knowledge.
I mean if I was an American, I wouldn't be suprised about anything, no matter how weird. The US is just a show for the rest of the world to enjoy. Sometimes it's a horror, somtimes a comedy, but ultimately most strange things ever happen in the US...
Yeah, here in america its kinda required to have your own satanic cult. 7/11 actually sued Mapco for using the same ritual. That's kinda how they choose where to put gas stations: can they summon satan from the location?
I’m convinced we’re living in a tv show for the worlds amusement, and all the wild stuff that happens here is done my the other nations for more amusement
@@maxridriguez7751As someone who doesn't live in America, I have to say I do get amusement from all the wierd shit that happens in the US. For the plane, it’s suspected that it isn’t actually a crash since the location it’s at is, iirc, on the side of a mountain where the angle wouldn’t be possible. So it’s actually just a plane flying overhead, and google maps captured it from the top down. Plus there should be damage on or around the plane, ie. a trail of the crash or shattered wings and such.
maybe, but it did say the crash was discovered quite a few years after it happened so the area around it might have regrown. also, the quality of the image isn’t great and the angle of the plane (if it were flying) is also kind of dodge. but im no expert so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ these are just observations
@@abrams07 If this is the same plane I remember, then it was covered on a snapchat video thing. I know, snapchat of all places, but the mini show was of strange or unexplained things where they hire/ask “professionals” about their opinion. Typically resulting in a Faked/False result. Not sure how professional these “professionals” are, but they typically use an AI program that detects photoshopping down to the pixels. Since the evidence would normally be pictures or videos. But rant over, in this case they used the program, found it unfaked, and asked people who had data on the region and those people said that this is on the side of a mountain/hill, so if the plane were to have crashed it would be at a steeper angle or something like that.
So it said that the plane was flying through clouds in a mountain area and it’s right wing collided with trees causing it to bend at 90 degrees before they dropped 500 feet and crashed into the mountain side the plane was found flipped over with body’s laying around/in it there was no survivors and they weren’t able to find one body the plane had broken into two parts and crashed due to poor communication, weather, and the choice to fly in the clouds through mountains while unsure of the position this is a real case and 22 people died and 11 people sued Cambodia state for 3.5 million dollars for their lost children/family

After doing some research regarding the plane, I found that there are at least two relatively high-profile crashes that happened in that area. One in 1974 and another in 2007, neither of which were so in-tact, nor were they as big as that seems to be. What it looks like to me is that Google maps snagged a picture of a plane in flight, just cruising at a low altitude. Even looking into records from the Flight Safety Foundation didn't come up with anything matching the location used in the game, but it sure is a good spooky picture!
@Steamedham5 the last known coordinates of MH370 were (approximately) 30.00°S 98.70°E, more than 2000 mi/3200 km from the location in Aoral Wildlife Sanctuary in Cambodia. With the fuel the plane should have had remaining by that point, it would be extremely unlikely it could have headed back north that far. Not impossible at face value, but it would have also been re-aquired by radar as it came back closer to land.
@@okami0013 Well, aircraft still have a pretty decent gliding distance even with dual-engine flameout resulting from fuel starvation. Winds could've been favourable, as well. In terms of radar, the plane might not have been picked up by ATC depending on the type of equipment used. The pilots still have to "connect" and make contact with a new controller going between different airspace regions. Another factor could've been that the plane had lost all electrical power (batteries and other back-ups) and thus the onboard computers couldn't broadcast any information to the people on the ground.
Sean - the plane in Mapfriend has pretty much been proven not to be the missing plane because of the many pieces of that plane that were confirmed that have washed up in various places. That tends to lead in the direction that the plane is in the water somewhere. As for the plane in the Cambodian jungle, experts say that the plane could not have crashed there without 1) breaking up, and 2) leaving a trail of destruction through the trees. It's believed a satellite caught a low flying plane in flight against the forest canopy.

28:03 If that shipwreck is the one I think it is, you really don't want to go there. That's Northern Sentinel Island, home to the most secluded humans on the planet and have an extremely violent history towards any visitors. India has given these people full amnesty and the navy guards the surrounding area to prevent anyone coming close. It happens by accident on occasion and rarely people go there on purpose, but most if not all people that go there get speared on sight.
That’s not entirely true. There was a point when they were non hostile toward people from outside, but because they have been so isolated for so long, they have zero resistance to diseases that most of us can withstand. A huge swath of the population was wiped out by disease, and that’s when they began warding visitors away, with all of the violence you would expect from a people so deeply traumatized by the horror said visitors brought with them. They are not known to be cannibalistic- but we know next to nothing about them because they want to be left alone. And in this day and age, I think we all know that they should have the authority on that decision, not us.
Thank you for mentioning that Gab played it. I immediately ran to find it on her page and I'll be watching it next. I know what I thought immediately when I saw that woman.

The mention about working alone in a gas station is funny, since that's exactly what I do. Most days that I work, I come in at 10 pm and stay until around 6 am (sometimes later if the manager runs late) and I'm there by myself the whole time. It's actually pretty peaceful most of the time. You're just kind of left to yourself for most of the night, cleaning up the store and doing basic tasks like that, occasionally help customers. @@ZACKARDO it’s probably work that needs to be looked at so he can’t be distracted by watching on the job

I can just imagine the monster hearing Jack going: “nice another skull!” And “whoa that was a sick transition!” When he’s supposed to be fearing his life
After doing some research regarding the plane, I found that there are at least two relatively high-profile crashes that happened in that area. One in 1974 and another in 2007, neither of which were so in-tact, nor were they as big as that seems to be. What it looks like to me is that Google maps snagged a picture of a plane in flight, just cruising at a low altitude. Even looking into records from the Flight Safety Foundation didn't come up with anything matching the location used in the game, but it sure is a good spooky picture!
why'd I have to scroll so far for this???
Yeah, it seems like a lot of “plane crash” images found on Google Maps are actually just planes in flight
I thought MH370 was still missing that’s why the one in the forest is still considered as a possibility

India has given these people full amnesty and the navy guards the surrounding area to prevent anyone coming close. It happens by accident on occasion and rarely people go there on purpose, but most if not all people that go there get speared on sight.
If I'm not mistaken, don't they have a history of cannibalizing the people who go there?
That’s not entirely true. There was a point when they were non hostile toward people from outside, but because they have been so isolated for so long, they have zero resistance to diseases that most of us can withstand.
A huge swath of the population was wiped out by disease, and that’s when they began warding visitors away, with all of the violence you would expect from a people so deeply traumatized by the horror said visitors brought with them.
They are not known to be cannibalistic- but we know next to nothing about them because they want to be left alone. And in this day and age, I think we all know that they should have the authority on that decision, not us.

Had a kid gang deck me in my left eye, my first year, when I tried standing up to them for stealing so brazenly; lucked out that the cops caught them in time and I was able to point out the kid that threw the punch. But it did not make the rest of my time there look any better...I got sick and tired of the sexual harassment and other abuses we were put through.

@@breadeats Pretty much. I'm doing a lot better stitching safety equipment, as tricky as this recent job can be. They put gas station clerks through too much shit, in my state.
Not only "Blood Bucket", but "Gas Station Demons" is also a cool band name. First album: Diesel Devil
i would love to see a movie where sean is being chased by demons and all hes doing is joking around towards them

@@karliekretchmer7008 I know right?

Now that you mention it, i see it
Hot Irish? Yes. Librarian? Maybe.
26:56 legitematelly freaked me out because it turns out Sean and I have the same desktop wallpaper!
I was a teenager working at Smoothie King and had to do the closing shift alone often in the winter time. We had a panic button but idk if it even worked.. lots of buff meat heads coming in for protein shakes during the dark winter hours. Only ever had 1 stalker though! Walking to the car alone at night or taking the trash out was the scariest part.
google maps freaks me out a lot, it's one of my weirdest fears. i got worried at the second game until i saw how pixelated it was so i thought i would be fine. then jack went on actual google maps afterward :/ very rare one of these videos gets me so it was actually kinda nice lol

"If you're gonna haunt me at least buy something" is one of the best lines I've ever heard
I'm impressed with how scary the freezer part is, like they knew you would want to look at the body after you open the last box before actually checking inside
I like the fact that whenever jack gets A gun in A horror game he becomes instantly more confident
If you're given an opportunity to fight back you would take that too right?
I would love if Sean did a video of just exploring random internet phenomena
Old job i was alone from 9pm to 7am. The building was 1,000% haunted as well. Id hear voices, keys jingling, doors slamming, the dog kennel doors would open and slam shut (only the empty ones i cleaned or needed to clean thankfully) and i was 100% alone all night every night. I now work early AM shifts elsewhere. It definitely ruined my mental health being alone like that all night every night, it actually messed with my physical health. I was so stressed and my sleep and eating cycles were so messed up that i lost 36 pounds in 6 months. So glad i switched to a different workplace.
Edit to mention more personal experiences: I witnessed the kitchen sink turn on by itself, I watched the faucet handles move forward to turn on the water, and the automatic paper towel dispenser scared the shit out of me, i was putting away dishes and it spit out paper towels while i was on the other side of the room. I just heard the sudden loud, squeeling whir and turned to see the paper towel come out.

Yeah
Night Stop (the last game) was def my favorite out of these. It's genuinely creepy, and gives you a very uneasy feeling. Freaky when the woman's body is there. Especially that freezer scene when her eye is showing thru the sack over her head. Devs did a great job.
to answer your question Sean... yes, usually night shift is a solo-shift.... especially in gas stations, which I worked at. It makes no sense because that feels like the company just begging to have a wrongful death suit on their hands but whatever.
The editing skills in Jack's videos really is top notch! Round of applause for Jack's editors, you guys are so talented!
Yup
As someone who has been working the night shift for over a decade, yes .... Yes I do end up getting stuck alone quite often, dealing with shit that most people never do, to the point they think it's fiction.
Same..I told my new boss a list of the crazy things that have happened and she was just in awe
@@TheNoahness night shift is a whole new world that people are never ready for until they've done it themselves for a while. I always say it's 90% of the time pretty chill, but that 10% can be the most intense, even life and death, situations you've ever experienced. And that's saying a lot considering what else I've been through. Granted I'm a security guard, so that puts me in certain situations, but I'd still say retail is probably worse in many ways.
@@wylanvallotton4462 I had a woman claiming to work for the government go pretty crazy, tried to grab the power washer from a third party employee just there to do his job. She claimed he was poisoning the world with the water he was shooting and that as per her government credentials..she was there to stop him 😂
I work in a restaurant.
This stuff shouldn't happen at all 😂
@@TheNoahness that's nuts, but doesn't at all surprise me. Hopefully that other employee is also ok now. How did you end up dealing with her?
@@wylanvallotton4462 everything turned out good. A cop was driving by and I flagged them down and it got handled. Just crazy stuff though
This episode has so many comedic gems; I keep coming back for "don't fog horn at me"
Loving when jack does scary games even during the Christmas season
Yes haha, my boyfriend works as a night guard at a factory that is slowly closing down so most of the buildings he has to check are abandoned and really sketchy. Mold, no lights, standing water, falling parts of the ceiling. He calls me at 6am and we talk while he's doing his checks lol
6:00 He can top the morning AND the competition? This man is able to do anything
I've worked at a 7/11 a mile down the road from a jail in Grand Rapids, MI. Thirds, alone, during a winter with record snowfall. I worked thirds at 2 group homes for adult foster care, alone, with people with schizophrenia. Depressing is an understatement. Awful for mental health. I'm so glad those days are behind me.
32:45 Nice Bo Burnham reference not a lot of people know that song since it was only on the album!
33:30 I love how he don’t even question why he’s mopping the wall
Yes Sean night shift is terrible for our mental health and social lives. Alot of places are short staffed and claim to not need more than one person at night as well. So this is 100 percent realistic
For some it'd be the ideal job. If I didn't have children I'd totally work nightshifts. I've awful social anxiety and really can't stand to be around people..no offense that's just where I'm most comfortable. 🤷🏻♀️
Thank you Sean for continuously bringing us the content we love. You’ve helped me through some dark times ❤
The thing that scares me the most about the first game is I’ve found a deer skull on my camping trip 2 years ago lol
As a graveyard shift worker at a gas station it's like this every night when there's nobody coming for like two hours
yup i used to do this too. small town and my boss would have a us lock our phones up and it alerts her when we unlocked it, eventually realised shes a sadistic bitch and left lmfao
I used to work graveyard as Supply in a Hospital ( We bring/stock supplies to the whole hospital) and I've had a ton of a nights alone. It's terrifying, because it's in the basement, which everyone thought was haunted anyway, and things would sometimes just randomly move or fall off of shelves. Can attest...it's not good for the mental lol.
As a night audit front desk agent at a motel it is absolutely horrid on your mental health being all alone all night! But your videos give me strength lol ❤ thank you for all the awesome content!!
We need a behind the scenes on how Jack accomplishes some of these effects, 00:26 was awesome 🤣🤣

So who's gonna break it to Sean that our employers don't care about our mental health lol
To be fair, back in my part-timing days I didn't care about their mental health either, it's just that I didn't really have much of an outlet to make them feel it.
Apparently the plane on google maps is probably just a plane in the middle of a flight and the low quality makes it look like it's part of the jungle. supposedly google maps has an algorithm that picks up planes in flight to remove them and it probably just missed that one.
If anyone wants to explore the actual crash site of the plane here is coordinates: 12°05'20″N 104°09'05″E. There's nothing much to do, but it gives me the chills to see it's still there.
There also this coordinate: 41°01'01.5"N 89°25'44.6"W. This brings you to the Illinois River ( to be more specific Wightman Lake ) but there's something weird, if you zoom in on that location you can see some dots around that area and a raft of the sorts little bit to the south of the marker, I don't know what that could be but some help of professionals or people who have good knowledge help out.
It's important that you use Google Earth for this to get more precise details about said area.
Jack will never stop being amazing to me, growing up with these types of videos constantly coming out from such a great youtuber is something not everyone grows up with. Thank you Jack, you're amazing and without you I would be bored out of my mind.
27:26 That location in Cambodia shows a plane in flight. You can find similar planes in satellite imagery.
Honestly, if it was a crashed plane, it wouldn't be so intact.
I gotta tell ya jack, the night shift aint so bad after the first few weeks. I love working nights, especially at the gas station i work at! Theres not too much to do and the people can make interesting conversation at night
"Crackers!" Jack said it with so much confidence after already reading what it said. Well done.
@Dave Miller he wouldn’t lmao
@Dave Miller I was wondering that as well, just checked urban dictionary and apparently 'Crackers' or 'Crackas' is a racial slur with historic roots to slavery and racist impoverished white people who were hired for cheap to work on plantations in the US - I had no idea I've never heard it used that way
@gavinkrueger8575 cuz its a racist term used towards white ppl

He can make even the scariest games sound funny
I swear these intros are getting more and more creative and tend to be more scarier than the games themselves
I love that both him and Evelyn made the "piss, actually." joke
I've worked night shift at a university doing custodial, and while we had about 8 people on staff, we each went off to clean our own buildings/zones and I often only saw them at the beginning and end of the shift. the rest of the 7 hours was spent by myself in my area which was the top 7 floors of one of the towers. tall enough that during storms or high wind i could feel the building move just a lil bit.
Absolutely loved it, if the pay was better I'd love to go do it again. I would listen to podcasts, mostly The official podcast or various scary story podcasts.
but yea, plenty of businesses with night shifts have people there by themselves, small gas stations especially
I feel like the perfect name for the butterfly-headed monster woman in the last game is Flutterthought. I love her design, I could totally see myself getting a tattoo inspired by her- I don’t think I’d do the patchwork body? But who knows!
