WOW!!!!! What a delightful surprise to stumble accross this wonderful sextet playing one of the great bebop compositions of the Parker Gillespie combo. Where to begin in my compliments? First and most important, this band SWINGS. Furthermore, the members of the front line are individually addressing the melody in their own way, whilst being aware of those great solos from established Jazz Masters who have played this complex melody in past times. Top marks for each of the front line, tenor, clarinet, and trumpet. The rhythm section is superb, and held together by the drummer who is quite unique and who is also a master of Swing. The bass player playing very lightly an open phrasing at the opening of the solos, brings a solid foundation to the ensemble and the guitar likewise playing many interesting chord inversions, whilst keepin an open , light feel to his approach. I shall keep and eye open for more of these up;oads from this great jazz group, and send thanks and best wishes to the members of this ensemble for a short and very sweet start to my day here in The Netherlands.

the saxophone player has good reading terrific reading but his sound and his improvisation he needs to go to the Lennie niehaus Jazz study books book one two and threeto learn different Jazz patterns and that and he also needs to startlistening to some improvisational videos he needs to change his mouthpiece he has a very thin sound he needs to get a more open mouthpiece I play a Bobby DUKOFF 9 star metal tenor saxophoneI studied with the great Sonny Stitt for 5 years used to travel on the road with him stay in the hotels with them for many many months in fact he gave me his 1978 Selmer Mark 7 Tenor saxophone which I have had all my life and I recently had it repaired with all ostrichskin padsI studied for years and years with Sonny used to stay in the hotel play with people like Jimmy Smith Don Patterson Monty Alexander Jackie Byard Kenny Clark Lewis Hayes slide Hampton Kenny Burrell and manyMandy Moore Sunny would bring me up the last half an hour of the set and let me play with all these big Mega stars of Jazz I also studied classical saxophone at CMU Inn Pittsburgh University and also the conservatory music at the University of Cincinnati I used to practice four or five hours a day for 13 years straight Sonny also give me Charlie Parker's white King saxophone alto mouthpiece the one you see him in the pictures with I I have that mouthpiece Now he also gave me a mouthpiece that belonged to Gene Ammons which was a Bril HARDT EBOLIN tenor saxophone mouthpiece this message from professional saxophone player Lance Parker Pittsburgh Pennsylvania
