My wife and I just returned from a trip to Vegas not knowing the situation. In 24 hours, 4 people were shot next to our hotel on the strip. We will NEVER be back.....that place is a shit hole now. Casino security is at the doorways and that's all. They don't move an inch. We saw maybe 3 or 4 security personnel on a casino floor. And outside on the 5 blocks we walked the strip we saw police in front of 2 casinos and nowhere else at all on the weekend. And even with the police presence at those 2 casinos.....there was still 2 shootings. The police are apparently useless and provide zero actual security. For a city desperate for tourist money, they don't seem to actually give a shit about your safety.
I hope the Middle East is safe. A lot of rumors go around that a person like Hitler wins control of a place in the sense that he abuses his power to the extreme. My fellow Americans used to accuse Khoumeini, Hussein, and Milosovic of things like that. Sorry about the spelling.
I was at Mandalay Bay one night during a shooting. Did you know they lock the doors to get back into the casino? I ran the same direction as the valets because they have a secret door.
Was thinking about booking a trip at the end of February. I was there last February a few weeks before the lock down and had a good trip. I'm not going back until they kick these thugs out of there which is a shame because me and the wife always made 2-3 trips a year to Vegas.

I think that due to the closures of many strip properties, security personnel is scarce since the partial reopening. Where's Metro at? What the hell are they doing? It also sounds to me like LVMPD has reduced their employees. This town sucks. No traffic cops; horrific deadly vehicle accidents; driver insurance rates for good drivers are insane premiums.....because we pay for the deadly consequences of having no traffic enforcement, horrible lighting on the streets where drivers hit and kill pedestrians because they simply can't see them due the poor lighting in this city, the legal death claims as well as medical insurance and the greedy insurance companies who steal our money. This country is going to shit.
Vegas can’t have it both ways. Take what you can get, because the alternative is less visitors which translates to casinos laying off more employees and shutting down again. Winter’s right around the corner and you have no conventions or international travel and PBR, SEMA, NFR, CES have cancelled. Add the fact it’s typically one of if not the slowest times of the year for Vegas as well. The city has to tough it out and hope for the best. Just like the rest of the country and the world.
