I recently visited Raju Chat Bhandar, the so-called famous Gol Gappe spot, based on your recommendation, and I must say I was quite disappointed. The hygiene standards are extremely concerning.
As I observed, the way he serves the gol gappas is far from sanitary. His fingers often touch the water in the plate, which then comes into contact with other person’s plates. This same hand is used to refill the gol gappa from container. Given that water sometimes spills from customers’ mouths into the plates, it's clear that there's a significant risk of spreading contagious diseases.
While the flavor may be enticing, I can't overlook the hygiene issues. If you value cleanliness, I would suggest looking elsewhere for your gol gappa fix.
