My youngest is now 5 and he has nonverbal Autism. This song made me cry, I live it and breathe it everyday, my son is my heart and soul and I wouldn't trade him for anything in the world!! (Strength, Patience, Hope, Faith, and LOVE) to all of you that have a child or know someone with Autism.

Scott, as someone who's been living with Autism since the age of 2 and a half, this song really made me weep. I'm so thankful for you mate as you are just one of a number of people out there who are making songs about living with Autism. We will most likely never meet lad, but I want to thank you once again for this song as it is really, really uplifting and emotional.

I thank you too Scott. I saw your X factor audition over a year before I decided I wanted to sing. I used to just hide behind the piano and couldn’t express myself with my voice, but watching the likes of yourself Olly Murs and one direction made me wanna give singing a go

I have Aspergers and no one understands what I go through. They call me weird and I'm all alone. I do know that I'm not the only one on the planet, but I am proud to see the world a different way that most people can't.

I have Aspergers too....I was bullied for it everyday of my life and don't have friends....I get picked on because of my weird interactions I have with people and everything. No one understands me either since we know what to say but can't find the words to say it or don't know how to say or show it

Hello Scott and all the people that are here or nearby...
As an AuDHD (autism + ADHD) person it was amazing to find this song, which is certainly an anthem!
All respect, thanks a lot!! I cried and my heart is so gratefull right now. It gives hope and strength for all of us, ´cause we still have to deal and manage with huge difficulties, impact and various impairments in daily life.
Besides all the suffering and damage being on the spectrum is a unique journey experience.
It's a relief and also strengthens to know that we're not alone... there are incredible and wonderful people on the spectrum.
    Thanks again!
I wish us all the best and that we can strengthen and help each other more and more!

'Through My Eyes' is one of the most beautiful songs around. Scott James moved people to tears at the Autism Sunday 2013 services in Romford and Woodford Green - both venues were packed to the rafters. People were visibly moved. 'Through My Eyes' is also on the historic and ground breaking - 'Autism - The Album,' the first ever compilation album on autism from the United Kingdom. The song invites you to step into the shoes of a person with autism - wherever you are in the world. Thank you Scott.

Hello Scott, Let me start by saying that you have an amazing voice!! You realy moved me with your sound and lyrics. You are a inspiration to a lot of people, but especially for autistic people. I have a daughter with autism, and there are so many people who are scared of that word, because they do not know what it means! They think autistic people are stupid, strange, not able to feel emotions, idiots or dangerous. You prove them wrong, and that makes me so proud! Goodluck for you Scott!!!

I burst into tears after watching this too. After being diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome at 10 years old & now 30, these lyrics define my life as an Aspie during every day of my life. People have often mocked me or rejected me 'n so on because I am "not normal" which is a lonely feeling. Now living with a roommate & owning a Black Lab/English Setter mix while being a Believer in Christ, I no longer have the constantly lonely feeling anymore. Just shared this video on Facebook, mind you :)

Dont let anyone tell you you need to be fixed or cured. You are lovely as you are. Stay true to yourself and help to educate others about acceptance and about not worrying about cures or causes. Just acceptance, accomodations and understanding. :)

I’d rather have a cure! I happen to know for a fact that normals will never turn a blind eye to meltdowns, echolalia, obsessions, and stimming! They all look and sound funny and scary to normals- and no amount of “education” is going to change their minds! I’m an Autistic, and I would do anything to be normal!

I was diagnosed with high functioning autism when I was 3 years old. School was a big struggle for me because teachers and students did not understand me or knew what I needed. This year I graduated college with a fine arts associate's degree. I am happy that I am done with school. I don't know if I want to continue school. But I do know that this song did make me cry and it relates to me so much. The thought of me going out in the world without parental supervision (especially since I am 21 years old) seems scary to me. Thank you for making this song.

I heard it for the first time in 2009 being sung by Thanh Bui to raise money and awareness for Autism in Aus but hearing this song sung by someone who has autism and understands what its like makes this song have so much more meaning.

I know you originally went out to change people's opinions about autism and inspire those with it. What you managed to do was make me realize I had absolutely no idea what it meant to be autistic... and in the process inspiring me as well. Thank you for your bravery and your generosity in sharing your gift with all of us. The world just became a little better place.

In the 1980s I was diagnosed with adhd add and a learning disability. In 2023 the learning disability is now called autism. I just learned this a few weeks ago . I wish I would have known before now. It could have saved everyone in my life the pain and struggles they went through.
