Rosie’s version of Autumn Leaves is just like no other. The way she sings it makes it just perfect. I wonder why she never recorded a record of this beautiful song
“Les Feuilles Mortes” ,which was the original title of the 1945 song, was written by Johnny Mercer in 1947 under the English title “Autumn Leaves“, first recorded by Jo Stafford, in 1956 by Nat King Cole ,and since then by many other artists. Which may have been the reason why (...). There is another song Rosemary Clooney sang on "The Jo Stafford Show' The Four Seasons in 1961 entitled " 'Tis Autumn" ,that I like even better. It is another autumn-song that for some unknown reason she has never recorded either < th-cam.com/video/SpPVM4MlsoA/w-d-xo.html >
@@rylandgroves Good question ...“There’ll Never Be Another You” was from Episode # 10, with guest Dick Contino, screen star and master of the accordion. Other songs included were “Getting To Know You” (from "The King And I"), “Atcheson, Topeka And the Santa Fe” , “Sabre Dance” and “I Dream Of You.”
Funny to think people would warm up the "television set'" and then sit still to watch Rosie and friends sing show tunes and the Hit Parade. As I recall, Love and Marriage was very much a 1956 hit, especially the Sinatra version.
I wish there was the full version of Rosie, The Hi-Los, and Jose singing there’s no business like show business. I’ve seen other pieces of it from a interview Rosie had in the 90s
Thank you so much! It's great having a beautiful resource of all things Rosie! ♥️🎶
