I had the 40volt blower and weed eater combo for 5+ years and no problem at all. I just kept the battery charged and that was all. The Greenworks is the same as the Kobalt brand I learned from the customer support guy at Greenworks support. I had to call for help since I did not know how to disassemble it and install a new string ... .
I have the Greenworks 80v lawnmower and blower for my 1/4 acre lawn. Both have exceptional power to complete the task without any stoppage. I’m getting the 80v edger soon and expect the same results. Also 40v 2a/h batteries do not last long nor provide enough power for blowers and edgers, so I’d recommend stepping up to 80v with 4 to 6 a/h to be satisfied.
About the batteries: The lawn mower accommodates two batteries simultaneously and will switch from Bat1 to Bat2 automatically when the 1st one is drained. I use a 4ah AND a 2ah battery. Between the two, they'll outlast me...I'm ready for a break before they need charging. When you buy a computer printer, the installed ink cartridges contain far less ink than replacements do. The 2ah isn't garbage, it just has less capacity, and costs a lot less too. It's fine for smaller jobs that don't take as much run time. And I don't think any of these machines are intended for professional work. I like my Greenworks tools for the most part, with a pole saw, string trimmer, chainsaw, hedge trimmer, and lawn mower. Yep, five machines all using the same batteries. You can buy the bare machine without battery/charger for a lot less. I do have one complaint though. I've not received a single response to a concern I have about my lawn mower, after messaging them via three different routes.
I just got my Greenworks Pro 80V Leaf Blower. It’s the only leaf blower I’ve owned that is powerful enough that you notice a recoil! I went to blow some grass clippings off my welcome mat and immediately saw my mat sailing across the yard. It was about that point that I discovered you can dial down the power. My only concern is I’m having a little trouble seating the battery. It took me a couple of tries before the unit would turn on.
Great job on the review. I like going cheap on my small lawn. I have the Greenworks Blower 450 CFM which came with the 4.0 AH battery and charger for $120. That battery also is perfect backup for the Liberty 43. Blower works well for my lawn. Use a 40V B & D trimmer / edger that works great for both trimming and crispy edges. Stop using the bladed edging when the old one died. If you edge with every mow blade isn't necessary :)
I have the same 450 cfm blower. that one is a winner. Most of my stuff are 40v greenworks as I am battery locked in to a brand. Didn't know about liberty. gives me some hope
If anyone is looking to go battery powered, I strongly recommend to use the products from the company on your hoodie. I’ve got all the battery powered tools from Toro and love them.
@@TheNeighborDominator I think they do. That’s the only battery powered tool I don’t have from them. I’m still using a gas powered Echo that I’ve had for years.
The 40v trimmer is got has no swivel head which nothing anywhere said this, but also came with wire trimmer cord, 2 rolls exactly which is cool, but the lack of adjustments is frustrating, sort of the YT reviews showed it but must not have been the 12” model i got (small yard not alot of work to do i disnt need some monster trimmer) havent tried edging yet
This was incredibly helpful, I am thinking of getting the Allett Liberty43 but I was also thinking of buying green works products because of battery 🔋. Now I know to purchase other equipment brands.
I'm glad I could help! If you are going to get an allett contact Roland and tell him my code Clintk7374 and you will get 100 dollars off a machine! There are other greenworks products but I got the most common affordable ones and they are not good. If enough people use my code my plan is to give an Allett away at the end of the season with the credits I earn! If you need any help let me know!
Thanks for this. I almost got the whole kit. The battery lawn more by GWP seems decent but I guess the whole system isn’t going to get it all done. I’ll have to check out toro!
I wish Allett went with Ego for the mower although the 4.0 ah does well. Ego batteries are awesome and their equipment is amazing. I'm extremely impressed with the 650 blower and edger. The string trimmer is taking sometime tonget used to coming from a Worx 20v. Good video.
Thanks for the most honest test of Greenworks toys yet. I bought the 40v trimmer and chainsaw and they are rubbish. Plastic cheap rubbish that lacks the power for any real work, while costing as much as REAL equipment. I'm sending both back to Amazon
You have to match the tool for the job. Battery powered chainsaws from anyone will always be toys. Nobody is downing real trees or cutting LOGS with electric. So match the tool to the job. Greenworks is for trimming, light cutting. Their trimmers are for around posts, the foundation, etc If your trimming serious grass match the tool for the job. Simple. Then you won’t have to return anything to Amazon and be that guy that sellers hate. Too da loo!
Thanks for the review. My neighbor bought one and asked for some help with it because he hasn’t edged before and it didn’t seem to be working for him. I would guess the unit is just underpowered as shown in your video.
I'm really surprised about the edger. I have a 18v ryobi edger and it is not as bad as the greenworks. I''ll pass on the edger. Has anyone called Greenworks if that is suppose to happen.
String trimmer, i am currently using the new Senix line of equipment. They have the most rotations with their string trimmer for sure. Toro and ego are good. Nowa days you almost cant go wrong, its what color you want. A quick lock system is a good option. Ego and toro have good ones. I prefer toro because of price point and color. Stand alone straight shaft, senix for sure
I know we talked and I bitched about the Ego. But I really think it’s the way to go. It’s a bit heavy but the more research I did. The better off I think it was. Also, headquarters and home base are Grand Rapids, MI. And I just walked in and had an issue with my battery and they gave me a new one. Which is a mile from my house haha. So worth it stick with Ego
I just purchased the ego trimmer and edger combo. I will be doing a review on it in the near future. It slices through the thickest overgrown edge and doesn't die out in tall grass. It's a little pricey but it has both attachments and a 5ah battery for 399.
You could tell this guy was bias right from the start! The "rock" that the blower couldn't blow away was a clump of mud that was stuck to the concrete driveway. You could see parts of the "rock" chip away as the blower got closer.
This review does not do them justice... Greenworks tools are fantastic, ive owned both greenworks and ego tools and our greenworks tools have less problems
Totally agree. Greenworks is garbage even the mower tried to get my money back but the catch was mailing it back with the batteries. Good luck trying to do that and they would not post my negative reviews. Terrible company. Terrible products. I'm going with american-made Stihl
Perhaps the NEW are garbage..I've owned my 40v greenworks for over 10 years..still using the ORIGINAL 2.0 batteries! Have 12" 16" polesaw, and mower. Don't use the blower much but I do use it for light snow..I would not trade them for anything...
Battery anything can’t replace fuels. That’s just reality and definitely won’t last as long. Sure the tool might last but there is no way manufacturers are going to keep making batteries in many cases 5, 10 or even 20 years from now. Planned obsolescence. Name of the game! Also the failure rate of most batteries in tools and even EVs is anywhere from 5% to 37%. Pretty scary. Usually as soon as you’re out of warranty.
I hear ya on that. I just love the quietness of it. This system has been long gone from my arsenal and have real power now. But i do agree, especially with power, nothing beats gas.
Digi pro 40v blower works much better. I agree they do suck. My trimmer doesn’t shut down like yours. Interesting maybe I have a different model. I actually like the trimmer. I have the twin force mower. It blows. The cut time is decent but the cut on the grass is horrible, even with sharp blades. Not happy with the line overall..I went back to my old lawboy for cutting the lawn I still use the blower and trimmer.
The trimmer isn't bad. But the edger sucks. They do have bigger blowers which inwould imagine are better but then I would have to get the bigger battery. I ended up buying all ego products!
Looks like you don't know how to use the equipment there. I have a lot of GW's blowers and trimmers and mowers...they're top notch and yes they can blow out small rocks and all of that crap you had there with no issues at all. I have various sized batteries too....I also buy all of my equipment in the dead of winter...I just picked up a trimmer & blower combo for just $80 new
@Pj Lett - you can tell this guy was negatively biased from the start of the video! I have a feeling he was minipulating the edger to turn off intermittently to show it malfunction. Those "rocks" on the concrete were clump of mud that were stuck to the drive which made it harder to blow away. He probably has something against the company Greenworks.
I had the 40volt blower and weed eater combo for 5+ years and no problem at all. I just kept the battery charged and that was all. Great review and nice job rocking the Whisperer hat !
Thanks brother! It's a nice fitting hat!
If anyone is looking to go battery powered, I strongly recommend to use the products from the company on your hoodie. I’ve got all the battery powered tools from Toro and love them.
I keep hearing about that! Do they have an edger?
@@TheNeighborDominator I think they do. That’s the only battery powered tool I don’t have from them. I’m still using a gas powered Echo that I’ve had for years.
"It's pretty sad" that knocked me out 😂😂😂😂
Exact reason I didn’t get the liberty 43
I don't have problems with my Allett at all. The battery life and power is fine. The greenworks tools suck.
The 80v blower is great. About to find out if the 80v edger is good or not.
It depends upon you particular needs. If you have a lot of square footage and heavy cuts maybe gas powered equipment is the best.
I just add more batteries to my equipment if you're looking for more run time.
Thanks for the heads up, I almost bought this.
They have a stronger line up now from what I hear. I was not a fan of this line.
Thank you, Brother! You just saved me a headache!
No problem. Their higher voltage line might be better but just go with ego. I have that now and it is superior!

I bought too and they are pretty good, really strong even I've literally worked in jungle
Thanks for this. I almost got the whole kit. The battery lawn more by GWP seems decent but I guess the whole system isn’t going to get it all done. I’ll have to check out toro!
The gmax is kinda week. I hear their other commercial stuff is good and they have a stronger line. I have all the Toro battery powered. They are solid

Yes my brother I am going to go ego I think. There are to many great stories of how good they are!
The Ego combo is sick.
You need some Rotary Scissors ✂️
Great video 🤘🏼
That is next on my list
Thanks for the most honest test of Greenworks toys yet. I bought the 40v trimmer and chainsaw and they are rubbish. Plastic cheap rubbish that lacks the power for any real work, while costing as much as REAL equipment. I'm sending both back to Amazon
Since these, I hear their pro line is nice. I like the string trimmer but it bogs down in anything tall.
You have to match the tool for the job. Battery powered chainsaws from anyone will always be toys. Nobody is downing real trees or cutting LOGS with electric. So match the tool to the job. I'm really surprised about the edger. I have a 18v ryobi edger and it is not as bad as the greenworks. I''ll pass on the edger. Has anyone called Greenworks if that is suppose to happen.
So along with trashing stuff which is a 100% legit complaint, what do you recommend for battery trimmers? Asking for a friend

Lawns looking good man.
Thank you so much! It is a mess right now with my overseed and Tenacity bleaching!
I've never considered Green Works as a quality tool. I'm kinda surprised Allett even uses the battery.
Allet should be rocking those Ego batteries.
I’d buy one immediately!!!!
Right! The only reason I got them was because it matched the battery
Greenworks has decent tools. But the 40v line is shit. 60v abs 80v are decent
@XDaRegulatorX I agree. Ego is very smooth. But power? Greenworks all day.

Yes Jordan I believe I am going to go with ego. I tried Justin's and they were awesome
Where did you buy that edger tool , can't find it listed anywhere... I'm based in the UK.
I got it on amazon. I'm not a fan of Greenworks tools
Interesting review. I am happy with my gas tools for now but if I decide to upgrade I would probably get the Toro 60 volt line of tools
I have a battery toro shovel and was thinking of getting the matching equipment but I tried out ego and love it!
AH is Amp Hour btw
Please suggest a good TRIMMER, EDGER & BLOWER COMBo to buy.
I just purchased the ego trimmer and edger combo. I will be doing a review on it in the near future. It slices through the thickest overgrown edge and doesn't die out in tall grass. It's a little pricey but it has both attachments and a 5ah battery for 399.
@@TheNeighborDominator Thank you for the quick response.
Unfortunately, this is there standard 😒 thanks for the honest review bro 🤙🏾🌱

I don't know how to text that sound he makes! Eeerrrr eerrrhh
Return. .. Ego 56v is great. I heard the mikita and milwaukee 18 volts are good.
I want those rotary scissors!
