- Davinci's Vessels is a boat mod for Minecraft 1.12.2 that makes it possible to turn structures you build into real, moving boats and airships! This mod is an amazing mod for survival Minecraft. This Davinci's Vessels guide is a condensed version of another video that I made on this mod, as the previous video was rather lengthy.

Im hoping this gets updated to 1.17.x, imagine the submarines potential in one of the water caves.

I don’t think these water caves are big enough for submarines, if you want to use it underground then you should download yungs better caves and play around with it’s settings

I hope one day the modern modding scene captures all the glory of the 1.12 modding scene. We're close, but we mods like this one and Tinker's Construct.
The balloon feature gives me immense ideas for a zeppelin.

Did you see the Small Ships mod? That one actually is for current, unfortunately features pre built ships, but I think its 6 or 9, and they're pretty decent for being small/medium sized ships.

I love you so much you don’t ramble on about stuff and your just to the point getting us the information we need to know to have fun with this mod I did wanna ask tho sometimes when I get my ship in shallower water and assemble it it will leave an air pocket beneath my ship which is very annoying to get out of is there a way to stop that?
Thanks! Idk how to stop that, normally if you place blocks in one of the corners it will begin to update and fill in. takes some practice tho

Fun fact: you can mount cannons from the matchlock guns mod onto crates, and use them while in block mode. So to an extent you can even fight

You should check out Valkyrien skies, it is similar to this mod but it is more complex and allows you to walk and build on your ship when it’s moving and turning

@@nuicedj9372 check out the new eureka airships, its made by the same dev of valkyrien skies and based on the valkyrien skies physic engine and likely intended to be a spiritual successor to davincis vessels, for 1.18, still glitchy with some other mods but worth checking out
Nuice Dj its actualy less complicated because you dont have to desemball the boat to build on it and you can stand on it. It is much better and better for multiplayer and even just singlel player

I remember being a kid and falling in love with this one mod called “Archimede's Ships” I wonder if they are the same or maybe they are like sister mods? This was made because the older ship mod wasn’t being updated? Idk but they seem very much alike, but I want a pc so I can play this

Yea it would be cool to be updated the mod , but u can download the Future mod which gives u everything from 1.16.4 and before and toghethere with this mod is perfect
I really hope this mod gets updated to newer virosns of minecraft because whit the aquatic update it's more worth exploring ocean in that update

Nice. A few questions though.
1. Is there a size limit? I see that the ships can get pretty big but I want to construct ships around 67 to 122 blocks long.
2. Can any block be used to make ships?
There is. However at the end of the video I go over how to change it by going into the config files. Great mod!

Lotta people asking if it’ll get an update. On the website there is a thing that says the creator has a new job so he has little time to work on his mods. But it’s not dead yet!
I just had the best idea:
a large battleship/cruise ship that looks like a normal battle/cruise ship but has loads of air balloons in the hull, so when my friends inevitably(trust me, they will, and yours probably will too) try to pirate and loot my ship I can just go weeeeeee and fly away

It’s a real shame that this isn’t updated to 1.16.5, I can’t tell you how awesome it would be to drive an airship through the updated nether or over a fortress, maybe making a getaway from a piglin bastion. Anyways I enjoyed watching this showcase, I like your calm voice

Wow this mod is useful now i can make a higgins boat but that can move
quick question: when i placed entities/mobs either they or the boat itself glitch out. is there a way it doesnt happen like that? i use Techguns mod where the Turrets are considered as entities and they also glitch out of the boat when it moves. same with villagers. is there a fix ?

If you land a airship/plane on a boat and secure it to the boat you can move around on the sea and the boat will bring the airships with you then you take off using the airships
You could theoretically make a working aircraft carrier
I hope this works on multiplayer...

im worried i might have a problem, when i use the steam engine, whatever i put in it even if it was a lava bucket, when i stop the ship to get my bucket back or the leftover fuel only to find nothing is left, i didnt use it all up and it still disappears, also do chests work bc u can take it with u so i assumed u can use them to take stuff with u, didnt test the chests yet but curious to know if it works
EDIT: i just reinstalled and it worked! i love the fact that some common modded coal that burns for approx 3 times as long as a coal block works with the mod XD

depends on what you set the block limit to be in the Config files.
I have davincis vessels 1.12.2 on my server to play With my friend and every time I mount a vessel it crashes the game, is this a known bug?

For 1.16 you should try Plato’s transport it’s basically the spiritual successor of this but it’s kinda glitchy

Yes, it is actually a very good, balanced mod for survival! I enjoy playing on it often.
Really good in survival, its great because you can transport stuff around easier and I’ve made a customized survival world where there are floating island everywhere just for this mod
i encounter an issue with this regarding Turrets (like Techguns Turrets for example).
once i click "Mount Ship" to go ship mode the turret guns either vanish or glitch out (the ship moves but the turret guns stay behind) therefore rendering said turrets unusable.
i think the turret guns are considered as entities and not blocks? is there a way to fix this??
well if they're considered entities then you can put them on a crate I suppose

is this 1.16.5 and higher for 3 gig servers, cuz I want it in my friends server (same with 2 other people) and if its 4 gig or higher the game would always crash. Do the sails have to be banners? or could it be just wool.
I know this comment was from 4 months ago, but in case you're still wondering you don't need sails at all. you can just slap the helm on anything and it will set sail

If you wanna make a flying base I suggest using Valkyrien skies because it allows you to walk and build on your base when it’s flying, davincis vessels is good for small ships

Hello, I have a problem, when I mount the ship the steam engine gives me the coal back, idk why. Has anyone else the same problem?
That is very weird. I have never had that happen. I'm sorry to say I have no clue how to go about fixing that. Maybe try reinstalling the mod?

A beta was released in July 2020 but based on the mod’s “issues” github page it seems unstable. Trying to determine if the stability issues exist in both versions or just the newest one.

There is a glitch with this mod if you are on your ship (ship is in entity mode) and you and your friend are both riding on the airship and the server your playing on crashes it will duplicate the airship and all of the items on it for each person who was on the ship
