can you explain the selection of the number of the forced die- in your video you had Matt turn up a number with your head turned, then he placed it under one of the cups. How did you know what number to select from your six in your pocket?
I love this. The smoke of the mixing gives it a feeling of a test conditions effect. You simply have to make the spectator buy into those conditions… Craigs suggestion of doing phases, firstly with one cup, then two, three and four can be done. But naturally with a mixture of different strategies…
Craig, I'm late in offering my comments, but the great thing about this is that it CAN be repeated, and if you were to watch the trailer, you'll see that the first 3 phases build on each other perfectly. I actually believe the first 3 phases, as a whole routine, are better than the 4 cups version. I really like the routining, and the props, and have sold plenty of them after demonstrating it to customers.
Craig, this is a great process video that any magician or aspiring magician should see - the trick could be anything - but to see you and Matt - juxtaposed magicians, one new into the art sitting next to 30 a year veteran in real time - is invaluable. From working out new routines, adding personal touches, thinking about combos with other effects, methods or props, to analyzing and fine tuning every detail for performance - not only makes a trick better and unique to the magician, but opens the doors to an infinite world of possibilities, creativity, and maxing potential. I could go on and on, but love what you are doing. Keep growing and continuing the conversation- there is so much to be discovered and the process shown here is exciting to see - a tool that everyone in the magic community should possess -especially those needing a fresh outlook or point of departure. I love the process - something that has me deep into the writing of John Bannon at the moment. Cheers!
Interesting take on the cups. I have had a lot of fun performing these, and I understand why someone might not like the mixing procedure, but the people I’ve performed it to have never commented on this in any way. They seem genuinely baffled by the earlier routines as well. I use electronic dice for each one and use this as a lead in to a Spotted Die routine.
How about this: "I might be able to pick up that one cup was moved when you picked it up, because it's in a slightly different position now. So I want you to swap the cups you didn't put the die under, so all cups are in a different position from where I put them down"
Really surprised this didn't get ripped apart for the trailer and description text. They are both straight up lying. Not saying the product is bad, but they really shouldn't get away with that. Good review otherwise!
I agree with the comments that if you really had super powers you’ll just point to the cup and be done. To that end, a story line around what Greg presented about how things get lost and shuffle around our homes is a good line for thinking about presentations. That said, I’ve found that using 3 cups makes the routine a bit more direct and as such I’ve developed a 4 phase routine where the method gets harder and harder to the point that the last phase is done without dice and so far I’ve been getting a great response. I’d highly recommend Gabriel’s book: The Green Neck system as there are a lot of creative ideas there as well that are not part of the tutorial!
If you could really do it then your would say you know exactly where it is and you just point to the cups and 3 of the cups would just magically flip over and the cup with the object would be left standing.
When I first saw this performed, the first thing I thought was that it could be made better through the use of mental die. Unfortunately, there are so many better uses for mental die, that I would never waste it on this type of an effect. Honestly, what would you take out of your close-up set to replace with this? At the end of the day, it’s just another unnecessary magic product that will collect dust in your junk drawer.
I don't have this, but was thinking along the lines of combining it with a mini cups and balls type routine. At the end you say the real reason it couldn't have been in these cups is because they already have a die under them or were already full of whatever. Seems like they would talk using dice though.
The written one in Green Neck is better. And once you know the method you can use organic Solo cups and a borrowed item and make it into a psychometry routine and no fishy props

Love Matt on the review show special. Keep ‘em
Nice review.
My set arrived earlier in the week and very happy with them. So far, however, I prefer the 3 dice 3 cup routines.
There are "many possibilities" of a repetition and variations ⭐
Craig may have just fixated on the last routine and not the others

Awesome performance Matt!! Sold out everywhere-- I should have picked up when had the chance!!!
Totally agree with you: ina "one shot" you could just be lucky (1 chance / 4). But if you could repeat it, it can't be luck.

It's a very good trick. Very welle explained. The quality is amazing as usual with "Marchand de Truc"
Matt did great!

Or the cup with the object starts to shake a little. 😮

Are you happy? I'm happy. You're happy. we are happy everyone is happy oh happy happy

curious why can you not repeat?
The procedure probably changes based on where the die is, it would be like trying to repeat an equivoque based trick it would give it away.
Use a banknote a la Al Koran instead of dice.
It’s Gabriel WERLEN
Fixed 😁
Too obvious
long winded
