I feel that I couldn't get the same quality in Canada. I guess I should have made a note that my comment was an attempt at humor. Love your truck by the way. It's the perfect size. It has plenty of room to move around inside and still fits in a parking stall. I'm a little jealous.

Paul the van looks great, you have done a brilliant job. I worry about getting around in our 8m Autotrail but yours is in a different league. That said we have extensively toured the UK over the last 10 years and only had a few issues. What plans have you for your drinking water system as we are trying to ditch bottled water? Hopefully catch up with you at the overland show in September.
I nearly bought a tag axle autotrail great Van's. Will do a volg on filters once I find new ones to fit under sink need to go to a local company and chat with them as I want to filter river water aswell as a emergency back up if no tap water available.

If you're not going to have a crawl through why not have solid MOLLE panels on the back of your cab, with a spacer to weave pouches making vertical storage and look at cab hammock
If you want old build vlogs I did request a full wall of cupboards but for some reason this got lost and design was changed but its come out OK I didn't need extra space I found i still have empty cupboards lol and would only add to weight as I have only a 7.5t licence so milly on a diet all the time lol

Just one thing when you paint the steps, consider some sort of contrast between the steps and the back, to help when it's dark and you've may be had a drink. Looks great. How did LGF close off the gaps in the ally frame. Everything is now covered by cupboards but I was wondering if there is a still a cold bridge which would make the cupboards cold and damp.
I show all that in previous build vlogs where its insulated in all gaps and covered.i dont use heater as my box is so warm its amazing and on hot days is so cool with the ventilation fitted

for anyone else interested google converter says - 15 MPG = 18.8 Litres/100km which should convert to approx 720kms or 450 miles I think...maths is not my best, which is not bad considering the size of the vehicle.
Because its a 4x4 its not needed for mot as it hinders its ability it was built for. Some fit lift up bar for safety. I also dont have to use side bars but I left on for safety

Hard to give a true figure as every build is different and different spec but basically iam spending £50k in the end for totally everything iam still buying upgrades to fit as I go. A basic box starts around £9k just with 1 door like mine insulated fitted and chassis made then price goes up with spec you want

@@williamramsden8343 truck was £6200 paint job was £4k then spent a little truck getting chassis painted and delivery costs the £50k budget is everything from start to finish so in reality its alot cheaper to build the truck but hard to break down as I added lots of extras as build went on even in my budget I bought a little c2 citroen for £650 and insurance and tax as a back up car to travel

What’s the spares availability like on these? Other than universal parts I’d imagine there’s a few parts hard to get, as an ex military truck that’s no longer in service are parts even made for it anymore?

I drove these and the older Bedford in the army, these were a big step up from the Bedford, basic cab and a bit slow but good trucks. Love what you have don’t to it. Hi l am Ex Forces Veteran looking to get a T244 with similar pod etc. Annoyingly l have to give up my HGV PCV licenses due to borderline health issues soon. This as you can imagine has restricted me quite a bit. So l am 7.5 tonnes now. That would make the truck with pod virtually bang on the 7.5 limit. What license have you and others got for your T244 overlander please? Thanks
Hi Iam on 7.5t licence and my truck built on a lightweight diet its hard with the daf to keep under it base truck stripped is 5.4t so not alot of Wieght left

i'm interested to know how many miles you get out of a full tank? Is is 80litres?
Couldn't tell you out a full tank the daf has 136L tank but I get 15mpg

Parts very easy to get there's a big network around the world. We have places like crouch recovery that specialise in dafs and all parts on shelf

Yes I have old licence so custom built my truck lightweight as its not going around the world and over deserts ect more for uk and odd euro trips.

Hi l am Ex Forces Veteran looking to get a T244 with similar pod etc.
Annoyingly l have to give up my HGV PCV licenses due to borderline health issues soon.
This as you can imagine has restricted me quite a bit.
So l am 7.5 tonnes now.
That would make the truck with pod virtually bang on the 7.5 limit.
What license have you and others got for your T244 overlander please?

Hi Iam on 7.5t licence and my truck built on a lightweight diet its hard with the daf to keep under it base truck stripped is 5.4t so not alot of Wieght left
